Very Happy

"Great Value for money…especially for both a Sliding Miter Saw & and a Stand too. Plus I noticed the stand comes with adjustable brackets so I can fit my bigger DeWalt miter saw to it when I want to cut wider wood (I had to call the 1800 number to be sure and the customer service was very helpful to confirm this). Only down side is I wish it was a 12” saw but I’m sure it would cost a lot more. Best value on a miter saw I’ve seen this Christmas shopping."

returned or refubed

Pros: good saw for the price
Cons: wish i knew these were referbished/returned
Model Number: 695578
"I got this yesterday. I opened the stand first and noticed the tape job on the product packaging looked like it had been resealed. Upon reading the directions I realized some assembly had been done. When I opened the saw it had clearly been opened; the styrofoam was trashed. The saw works fine though the build quality was on the cheap side; I had to bust out some of the cast aluminum from one of the mounting holes. Also there's no safety switch. The laser is worthless but that's not a big deal they are rarely accurate just don't waste your time with it. The stand will only work on a flat surface, no using this outside. Overall not bad for the price."

Good for the price, chintzy build quality

Pros: includes a fairly sturdy and stable stand., a safe buy since its backed by costco guarantee, okay blade included, powerful motor, mine has a smooth slide mechanism, not too heavy, has dado/radial arm cutting feature
Cons: cheap build quality., no us support phone number or place of business, laser is dicey and tends to move with vibration, not sure what to do for parts in a few years?, knobs on the saw are a bit chintzy, blade guard scrapes on work piece no rollers!
Model Number: 10CSMS
"Go this saw and stand today. Spent a lot of time sawing and testing the saw.
First the stand:
Well packed and easy to put together. Knobs are a bit small but workable. It has strong welded joints and included rollers are quite usable. Carriage is two pressure clamps that fit tightly on the rails. The hole on the rails don't quite line up with the saw as the picture on the user guide. You have to put all 4 bolts on the long rails the short right angle extensions don't really fit the saw. Mine ended up supporting the saw from below. Only complaints are the rubber feet fall off easily and the oiliness of the entire stand. Its some kind of rust protectant and stinks like old 3 in 1 oil.
Now the Saw:
Poorly packed but arrived safely thanks to Costco's outer box. Laser switch is recessed on the side outer edge of the handle. Laser is quite powerful and throws a straight line. It would be great if it was mounted properly on the saw. The mount is three screws designed by a 2 year old. Very hard to adjust and not stable. Also you have to turn the brass head of the laser to move the line left and right not the angle screw. In short do not buy this saw if you drawn by the laser feature. The included blade is OK but, I would recommend eventually investing in a D i a b l o blade, they are worth the price. The fence on the saw is small and leaves a lot to desired. The clamp provided is good but cannot be used on the right side of the saw as the motor bumps on it at any angle. The saw is light weight and powerful. Great for a homeowner use. It needs to be trued up before use. Whip out your trusty square and go at it as per the user manual.
I believe this is 254CMS model on the 909 website, it lists the model as 10CSMS on the motor (USA label). This is single left bevel 45 degree saw.
Complaints:
Poorly designed laser mount.
Very bad motor winding cooking smell for the first few cuts.
Had to punch open one hole on the saw table mount.
Same oily smell and greasiness. I had to wipe it down with clean rags.

Inexpensive, but Also Cheap

Pros: excellent price for saw plus table
Cons: numerous minor defects and design flaws, typos and incorrect photos in owner's manual, not a quality item that costco normally sells
Model Number: 255 SB
"After carefully weighing the pros and cons, I chose to return it to Costco for a refund. The saw and table both had a number of minor defects and design flaws. One or two or three would been ok for a sub 200 dollar saw, but I found about ten! I never even cut any wood before returning it.
The 909 saw doesn't easily mount onto its own 909-branded saw table. The saw's rear mounting holes are 3/4" closer together than the front ones. This makes it difficult to mount the saw square to the two quick-connect brackets for the saw table.
Each leg on the saw table has a spring-loaded locking button to keep the legs from collapsing. It would take some filing of metal from the saw table to allow the locking buttons to work properly.
It was difficult to lock down the blade tilt (bevel) adjustment. Unless the locking knob was turned very tight, the saw bevel could change during a cut.
The slide mechanism felt a little sticky and grindy. Definitely not frictionless.
The blade guard has quite a bit of play and has no roller at its bottom. It hits the base of the saw while sliding.
The mounting bolt for the blade was so tight that I couldn't remove it with the enclosed hex wrench. I had to use a 1/2" socket and long ratchet.
The owner's manual has a number of typos, mislabeled parts, and incorrect photos.
Overall, this tool looks like an attempt to clone a quality tool and sell it for half the price. The cloning machine has a few bugs in it!"

Arrived damaged

Pros: ez return to costco
"Box arrived intact but right rear leg of saw's base casting was cracked and bent up. The base casting seems too thin. As others have noted the build seems sub standard. Didn't bother to completely unpack. Returned to Costco and will look for a different brand."
