Uh oh....read the other reviews AFTER ordering...

Pros: small lightweight easy to operate.
Cons: camera case doesn't fit period.
Model Number: Canon Digital SX50
"Ok, I concur on the camera case being a piece of junk that DOESN'T FIT AND IS worthless (thinking I'll damage the lens if I try to cram it in). Also found out I needed to upgrade my Mac before posting pix. BUT, I am blind in one eye and find the screen and viewfinder easy to use, and so far, am liking the simplicity of the camera, upgrading from a cheap digital. It takes great pix in low light--like an impossible to shoot tortoiseshell colored kitty--the best indoor pictures I've ever captured of her, EVER. As a step up from the "rustic antique" of a digital I was using, this will be fine for most shots and posting on FB, email, etc. So far, so good without sending pix via the net yet. Probably not a wise choice for a pro photographer, but a good choice for me, right now, or somebody looking to step up from a pocket digital."

Canon Disappointment

Pros: decent build quality; raw processing; hot shoe, close up photos are ok; bright light ok
Cons: unreliable lens/sensor; soft low light/zoom photos
Model Number: SX50
"I have had this camera for about 2 months and tried every setting possible. I consider myself knowledgeable with cameras, but this one is a lesson in frustration. You can use the exact same setting and get different results. I have yet to get a sharp zoom picture, even with a tri-pod. And forget action shots, it just doesn't get it. Maybe I have a bad example, but I have missed too many shots, I will have to try other options. The swivel screen is a nice touch and nice and bright."

Very slow shutter speed

Pros: single lens
Cons: long lag in taking pictures
Model Number: SX50
"Like the the other reviewer, I expected there to be a lot less lag in taking pictures. I am thinking about returning it. I missed too many good shots. I bought this to use for Christmas with the grand kids, and was disappointed as I missed too many good shots. Also the camera case that came with this camera, is way to small, a bag like the other cameras would have been much better."

Not Impressed ii It's going back!

Pros: compatible with 580 pro flashes
Cons: soft lens shutter delay old tech in new times.
Model Number: Canon SX50 HS Digital Camera Bundle
"The 50:1 zoom (optical) is SOFT! The pictures look like they were shot with a cheap point-and-shoot. (My 3-year-old Lumix is really sharp). The shutter delay brings me back about 5 years. It is very annoying to miss the peak of action or that perfect facial expression. This is an odd-duck camera for 2012-13. The 580-series pro flash compatibility hot shoe sucked me in to expecting a real performer, but it is real disappointing."
