Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Plus Canister Vacuum

The DC39 Multi floor Plus canister vacuum is engineered with Dyson cyclones that capture more dirt than any other. Featuring Dyson’s Radial Root Cyclone™ technology, reconfigured air channels reduce turbulence and preserve air pressure, so the inner cyclones can extract more microscopic particles and expel cleaner air. Suitable for all floor types, the DC39’s Triggerhead tool is the only turbine head controlled at the handle, so there is no bending down to adjust.  A fingertip control switches the brush bar off for delicate rugs and hard floors and switches on for high pick-up on carpets.  Combined with Dyson Ball™ technology, the DC39 turns on a dime to give you greater control and easily moves around obstacles. The clear bin allows you to see when it’s full and empties at the push of a button, minimizing contact with dirt and allergens. DC39 Multi floor Plus has a non-removable HEPA filter and carries a 5 year warranty, parts and labor guaranteed by Dyson.  And as with all Dyson vacuum cleaners, DC39 Multi floor Plus has no loss of suction.   Features: For every floor type - Carpet, tile, vinyl, wood. Might recommend- with qualifications

Pros: very manuverable, strong suction
Cons: can't vary suction, too powerful to use on some rugs
Model Number: DC39 Multi Floor Plus
" Just reluctantly returned this vacuum. It is very maneuverable and handy to reach where I want, BUT does not work on certain rugs (it prefers to try to inhale them).
I have wood floors and rugs. I have an upright Dyson model already, but found I really missed a tank type vacuum’s ability to get under beds, in tight spaces and cobwebs that accumulate in ceiling/wall areas. The reach of the upright’s hose was not long enough. I have carpal tunnel and arthritis so maneuverability is a huge factor.
For about ½ of the rugs, it works very well and in one room with wall to wall carpet. It is very powerful. BUT in my main living area and another room, it is so strong that it literally tries to suck in the large room size (9x12) rugs. The suction is so strong (with or w/o the brush) that I cannot move it across the rug, even with the “break suction release” lever that you manually have to hold to be “on”. Other than this manually held release lever, there is no way to vary the amount of suction. My husband wasn't able to move it well either w/his additional muscle power.
If it will not work for the main living areas where I need it the most, it is not of much use to me at this price. I thought about trying to modify it like other types (hole in wand area w/something over to vary pressure). But I would imagine that would void the warranty and for that price, it is a modification that I shouldn’t have to make.
I am hoping that Dyson redesigns this machine in the future because I really like the rest of it! "

Is it wrong to love a vacuum so much?

Pros: serious suction without tearing up carpet, retractible cord, easy to dissemble and assemble attachments, many different configurations, gets in tight corners
Cons: haven't found it yet
" To be fair, I thought I would wait until I had this item for a while and used it frequently before writing a review. Everyday I love this vacuum more and more. When I first plugged it in, I was worried. It seemed hard to push on my wool area rug...then I realized when I pushed the button on the handle it would activate the rotary brush and vacuuming was a super cinchy. I love how easy it is to change from carpet to hardwood or tile with a simple push of the button on the handle. Oh yeah, and the retractible cord button is the best. No more winding of the cord. This vacuum sucks like no body's business. I am still pulling dirt out of my carpet three months later. The suction is intense yet gentle at the same time. It is actually restoring the pile on my carpets without tearing them up. Plus, it gets into tight corners. Taking it apart, emptying the canister, rolling through the halls and turning corners, all...a piece of cake. I have even taken it to my child's school to vacuum the carpet in his classroom to get it extra clean. Seriously, I love this vacuum and I have previously purchased several cheaper, different manufacturers in hopes of getting a vacuum like this. Save yourself some $$ and just buy this one first. It is worth it. "

The best and lighters vacuum ono the market so far

Pros: light has strong suction easy to use and carry
Cons: didn't find yet
Model Number: Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Plus Canister Vacuum
" The best vacuum you can have on the market so far.
Very light, easy to move and easy to get under any furniture and in any corner. Versatile with great suction.
Some people complain about suction being too strong.
If your carpet is thing or you are dusting delicate surfaces then just use a little trigger right under the handle, pull it and hold while vacuuming, it reduces the suction.
First I tough the floor brush was too small, but after I used the vacuum I realized that it is a perfect size to get into every corner without changing the tool to a smaller one.
The vacuum and the handle are so light that even kids or older people can use the vacuum with no effort.

Totally disappointed

Pros: bagless
Cons: can't turn on and off from handle, does not move freely it gets stuck to the floor, stair attachment is a joke
" I did a lot of research before I bought the multi floor Dyson. It had mixed reviews, so I was cautious. I bought it from Costco specifically in case of problems, they have the best return policy. I returned mine yesterday, after a month of trying to like it.
It sucks great. Almost too great. We have wool carpet, hardwood floor, vinyl, area rugs, multi floor. This Dyson barely worked on any of them. It was so hard to get to go back and forth, it was like I was wrestling the vacuum. This vacuum was horrible. "

Best Vacuum Ever!

" I read quite a few reviews on this vacuum and the biggest complaint was that it sucked too much on smaller rugs and therefore was tough to vacuum them. A vacuum that sucks too hard?!!? I'll take it! I hate to vacuum and have been vacuuming almost everyday since I bought this. It's light weight, incredibly strong and manuveurs perfectly. I highly recommend! "
