Not too happy, but giving another try

Pros: online viewing (when working) mobile / tablet, tech support interfacing
Cons: the system is a big let down so far, camera night vision, day vision is grainy (could be related to above)
Model Number: ECO 3 140 Series
"After spending a lot of time installing this product, we went to turn it on and our first view was the system at night. The night vision was completely useless. We also one bad wire connector (completely unrelated and swapped that out).
Eventually we called Lorex Tech support. Expect 30min to an hour on hold EVERY time. Very frustrating. You do want to ask for a level 2 tech (again, a long wait time), however, these guys know what they are doing.
After a full day of them interacting with the system (great feature), thy deemed the system faulty.
Now I have to order another, pull out the old and try again. I hope this gets better!!!!"

DISSAPOINTED

Pros: nice easy to spot white wires and cameras.
Cons: hard to set up & use low resolution no support
Model Number: ECO 3 LH140 series
"The 8 cameras are worse than my X10 units that cost $30/Ea.
The instructions are confusing, and The customer service involves waiting on hold for hours, and then being told that I can hire a local (Approved) expensive, company to install my system. After giving up on the phone support, I visited the Lorex website, This model is not listed. The pan tilt and zoom camera needs a password EACH time you want to control it, or view the images! The only way to enter passwords, or commands is a childish system of using a mouse to aim at the image of a qwerty keybord on-screen one character at a time with no way of using an actual keyboard.
The ad does not tell you that on a 16 camers system, ONLY 2 cameras can be Hi-resolution!! ONLY 2 !!!
I spent a day with my contractor running wires, climbing around the attic, and trying to get this JUNK to work. Now I have to undo everything and dump it all in a garbage bag (Where it belongs) to return to Costco. I am really glad there is no penalty for returns. Thank you Costco."

Don't buy

Pros: system is working - no malfunction, price
Cons: recording at 960h for only two channels, non existent tech support - frustrating, so so software, so so video quality, provided coaxial cables too short, written manual limited but on cd
Model Number: ECO 3 140 Series - 16 Channels
"My biggest complaint is their non-existent tech support - every call requires forever waiting on various days - waited for 45 min -still cannot reach anyone. While on hold, it never tells you how long the wait time going to be. No tech support during weekends. Video quality is so so for both night and day. Recording at 960H only available for 2 out of 16 channels."

Pros: # of cameras, stated features
Cons: cables too short, proprietary cable connections, dvr non-responsive rendering entire system useless, complicated settings, not all cameras can run 960h
Model Number: LH146000
"The video quality is mediocre. Only two cameras can record at 960H, all the remaining cameras must record at nearly half that resolution. Even after three days, I was still unable to access the DVR remotely. The DVR controls only function immediately after turning it on; they cease functioning after a while, requiring a hard reset of the DVR to regain functionality. The videos under product details discussing the 960H resolution are misleading; Gilad Epstein says 960H resolution is "34 percent higher than the highest so far". This statement is true for standard definition, but 960H is LOWER than high definition (720p and 1080p); this is not clarified in the video and is therefore misleading. Wasted two days to install this product and another to uninstall and return. Very disappointed."
