In Store Mode 4.0 RT

Pros: price easy assembly quiet
Cons: fan useless & noisy; don't spoil the quiet ride!
Model Number: PFEX13813
"Because previous reviewers complained about getting banged-up bikes in the mail that then didn't function, I avoided buying this online. Instead I picked up the one in the store - different model but with nearly the same features and much cheaper price (-$300) - and I have to say it is a wonderful improvement over my old one.
After approximately 1.5 hours to lug it up the stairs, unpack, and assemble, I did my first workout with it this morning. Immediately impressed with both its resistance levels and variety of options. I don't have an iFit account but am considering it now.
The fan on this one is useless (same as previous reviewers who bought the online model) but otherwise I am satisfied with the purchase for the money I spent."

Worst Purchase Ever

Model Number: FreeMotion® c5.3 Recumbent Cycle
"I read the previous reviews having never experienced something like that from a Costco product. Unfortunately, I did not take the other reviews to heart - don't make that same mistake. What nightmare - the bike never worked properly from day one. I spoke to the folks at the 800 given in the bike information and they were nice enough on the phone - step one they sent a new fly wheel - however, the tech to install it lost his phone so wasn't returning my calls (for a week!). Finally I called the 800 again and they e-mailed him. He did call and said that a fly wheel was not enough and he would contact them for 2 additional parts. He confirmed that he spoke with them and the additional parts would arrive on Tuesday of the following week and confirmed an appointment on Thursday just to be confident. I take time off work to meet him and he simply doesn't show up - I sent him a text a he responded "I'm sorry man but I never got confirmation the parts arrived...do you want me to call and check on them?" Seriously, we are now 3 weeks in... Now I am taking the previous reviews seriously - the additional parts still haven't arrived and I have taken the bike back to the Costco store near me who handled the return very professionally. Costco - listen to a 28 year member - take this vendor OFF your list - you should not associate yourself with them."

Worst Purchase Ever

Pros: looks good. cool features (in theory)
Cons: read my review - unreal how many problems
Model Number: C5.3
"It is so hard to keep this review less than 10 pages. This is the most frustrating/awful purchase experience I have ever had. I will try to keep this short.
1st one - delivered with a cracked screen, making awful noises in the wheel, and missing wifi setup card (a key card essentially you put over the current buttons, as the do a different function - i.e. the 8 button srolls right, the 12 button is enter, etc.)
3 weeks later, got my next one delivered. The buttons on the right grip say resistance but really change the workout, the buttons on the left say workouts but really change the resistance (not an issue on the last one). Not a MAJOR deal as I can account for this and deal with it. Again, this bike was also missing the wifi setup card. Nonetheless I tried to map the buttons via trial and error, but this one will not even find my router (the last bike found several), yet this computer I am typing on now, my ipads, my tivo, appletv, etc. all have no problem doing so. This is clearly another defective issue. Also - the speakers are constantly staticy when I do not have an MP3 or anything of the sort plugged in. I can now either return this, wasting hours and TWO days off for deliveries, OR i can try a third exchange, which will take another couple weeks - this seems like insanity. It really is too bad, because clearly this company ICON Fitness is either extremely poor managed and/or has awful quality control. This experience has been so extremely frustrating it is making me nauseous even thinking about it. What a waste of 2 days off and several hours of my time, as well as the $100 I paid to ifit (also Icon fitness) for a subscription as I thought I could use it on these bikes. Unreal. Please save yourself the hassle and move on. I should have after seeing the first review but I figured it was just bad luck for that buyer. Also note - the only positive review for this product is for a completely different product....."

Manufacturer needs better quality control

Pros: very comfortable seating and controls, generally quiet
Cons: is mine a lemon?, i'm not a bike technician and don't want to be one
Model Number: C5.3 per Costco and SFEX58012.0 per FreeMotion.
"I bought the bike through Costco because I know Costco is the best. I wish I could say the same about Icon and the FreeMotion bike. Icon's idea of warranty service is to guess what's broken and send you the part. I bought the bike to rehab from knee surgery and had to struggle to get them to send out a tech. He couldn't fix the problem (loose wiring) so told Icon to send another part. They did and the problem persisted. I'm now waiting two plus weeks for the technicians (a third party) to arrange for a tech. Today the drive belt slipped 3 times within 5 minutes. That was the final straw. I called Costco and the bike is going back."

Bike Delivered and Did Not Work

Cons: delivered damaged broken
"Things happen for sure. But the bike was assembled and did not work. Nearly 100% resistance and a loud noise when you pedal. Five days after delivery a tech comes, only to say it is broken and he has to order parts, then when the parts arrive I have to call and schedule the repair person. Not exactly what I was expecting. So I will have the bike for probably a month before I can even use it if at all. And the tech told me that he was told the bike was not under warranty. Something wrong with the process here."

Awesome Recumbent Bike Purchased 3/2013

Pros: race track type display with distance, heart rate monitor, miles per hour, great seat back w/built in lumbar, water bottle holder in front on 335r, ifit compatible, mp3 compatible & ipod, bookshelf, comfy peddles, no missing parts
Cons: takes time to put together, i always want a softer seat, the fan is too noisy but is nice to have
Model Number: Freemotion 335 R Only Available In-Store
"The 335R is really a star. The bike looks like the one pictured here, but is only available in the stores. We live in St. Louis, MO. The only major difference is this bike has a heavier 22lb fly wheel and costs twice what the 335R did. I've been searching for a quality recumbent for 2 years. Features that were high on my list included heavy-duty construction w/wheels for mobility. Large comfy seat with good back support. Saw bikes for slightly less at big box stores that weren't made nearly as well. This bike is heavy so you need two people to get it inside your home. Have a place picked out ahead of time. Test ride the bikes you see in stores and try them out as I did. I was almost sold on a Nordic Track until finding this at Costco. The company that makes Freemotion also makes about several other brands, and it has a line of commercial equipment. The 335R is worth every penny and built to last. Please note that the display on this bike seems geared to taller folks. Especially important if you expect to see over the top to watch TV while you ride. I'm really tall so no problem. Love it! And, it is very quiet!"
