Pros: price, includes microsoft office, physical characteristics
Cons: slow, keyboard is not sensitive (especially space bar)
"I've had this computer for approximately a month now and have been pleasantly surprised in some features and very disappointed in others. The bad reviews of Windows 8 scared me, but hasn't been a problem at all thus far. I like the size, weight and physical appearance of the computer. The price was extremely low and it included Microsoft Office which was one of the reasons I purchased it. One downfall of the appearance is that wherever I touch the exterior, you can see shiny areas (like the oils from my hands almost leave stains). I saw on other reviews that the spacebar had issues. I would agree with that. The keyboard is iffy. You have to hit the keys pretty hard some times and the space bar seems especially difficult at times. My biggest complaint is that it is significantly slow. I teach and use PowerPoint presentations a lot. It takes excessively long for programs to open up. When I open Chrome or Explorer, the pages load quite slow. I am seriously considering returning this computer for something different. My honest opinion to others would be to go with a different laptop if any of the above problems would annoy you."
"I bought this Dell laptop a little over a month ago. So far I have had to call for tech support three times. The darn thing won't shut down; the screen is bland and you have to have it set at just the right angle for a decent picture; the screen freezes up and won't reboot; I have literally had to unplug the laptop and take the battery out in order to reboot; the keyboard is cheap and the space bar doesn't work well, so I can't type at my normal speed, I have to type very slowly and press hard. The issues go on and on. I am still considering taking it back to Costco. I bought it because the price was good and it came loaded with Microsoft Office. Also Dell used to be a quality brand, but I don't think so anymore."
Pros: great service from costco concierge, a great system for photoshop and graphics
Cons: windows 8 is baffling after 2 days of use
Model Number: I15RV
"I had some trouble learning Windows 8 and both times I called for help the concierge service: 1. Connected me to a helper within one minute, 2. Walked me through an understandable process, and 3. They were polite, sympathetic and helpful. This is the best computer help I've ever had from any company."
Pros: great price, microsoft office at no cost, smudge proof shell
Cons: windows 8
"I bought this as a second laptop for our family. I thought the price was good. Got it home, and it has everything we need to use. While Windows 8 is difficult to use, just be patient, and you will figure it out. Not as user-friendly as Windows 7, but nothing to keep you from buying the product."
"We bought this laptop about 2 months ago. All features are working great. Windows 8 was easy to pickup. One thing that is very disturbing: the case has began to warp, around the keyboard. I think we will return for a better model..."
"Hard drive failed after 1 week. What a waste of time. Seems to be a common problem with Dell. Poor support. They suggest sending it in for warranty repair... why??? Its a week old! You think I want this thing back? Nope."
