Great buy in this economy!

Model Number: RA-28 tankless water heater
"I bought a Watt's unit last year, and installed it in my remote cabin (1760 sq ft), in Willow Alaska. Though it was a brand new installation and did not look overly complicated to install, I felt that it was best to have a professional install the unit. About $350.00 later between the plumber and the electrician (and I think that was a bit of a deal), the unit was up and running. I am able to visit the cabin only 3-4 times per year, and certainly did not want the expense ond ongoing cost associated with an energy wasting water heater tank - this unit does the job and then some. Energy bills are very reasonable, and the unit keeps up when the house is full (4 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, washer and outside warm water feed). The temp gets to minus 35 ++ in Willow, and this unit keeps up with expectation - with ease. Highly recommended due to other ecological factors as well!"

Worth the investment

Model Number: RA 28 Tankless Water Heater
"I purchased this unit last month after my hotwater tank quit. I purchased the electric unit. I hired an electrican to install it. That cost me about $225.00. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Our house is about 2,250 sq feet, two full bathrooms. One of my concerns was the length of time it would take to have hot water in the bathroom farthest from the unit (about 75 ft). It takes less than a minute or about the same time as it took with my old water tank. I have run the diswasher, the washing machine and the shower at the same time. The results were impressive. I not only had a constant flow of hot water during this time but there is no surge between the hot and cold water as there was with my tank. The extra space in the laundry room is an added bonus. I haven't received my electric bill yet but I am certain it will be reduced. I would recommend this product to everyone."

No product support

Cons: not useable for most homes, no customer support
Model Number: Watts Premier RA-28
"Beware, this product is designed for a large house or commercial operation and requires 4 2-pole 30amp breakers. In order for this to work in my house, I would have had to upgrade my entire electrical system for a cost of some $10,000. So when I tried to contact the "Watts" or "Watts Premier" company to purchase a smaller unit more appropriate for my 1,000 sq ft house, I discovered that the company does not exist. Watts makes water filters, but not water heaters. The website and phone number with the product do not connect to any company that makes electric water heaters. Buyer beware!"

Watts RA-28 Tankless Water Heater

Pros: no negatives-only positives-great units., saves about 50% of our old utility bill.
Model Number: Watts RA-28
"2 years ago we were building a new house and bought 2 Watts RA-28 water heaters from Costco. They are so much better than a regular hot water tank and have saved us a fortune-we have instant hot water when we turn on the tap and it has lowered our utility bills drastically."

"I would definately recommend professional eletrician install water tank. You also will need 4 double pull 30 amp breakers. My panel did not have room for all 4 and I had to install a complete new service. Boy, that was a huge job.
Have been using the heater for about 3 weeks. One thing I don't like is you have to turn down the tub facet, otherwise the flow is too great and the water goes cold. We have two people and can work around this. Don't know if a family with kids could adjust to this.
I have not received an electric bil yet so can't comment on any savings."
