Great value.
Pros: great value, not fishy tasting
Cons: none
"Not much to say other than these are a great value. The main thing is what they don't have, which is a fishy taste or aftertaste, though having become inured to cod liver oil as a kid the fishiness of fish oil supplements hasn't ever bothered me...in fact it kind of brings back feelings of security and contentment being fussed over and pampered by my mother, but these don't do that because they're not fishy."

Too Big
Cons: repeats with a fish taste
"I have found that I prefer the Mega Red Krill oil instead of this brand. They are smaller and I do not have a fish taste in my mouth after I take it."

It Freezes
"Fish oil is not suppose to FREEZE in a freezer. because oil is not suppose to freeze. Do not buy them. It's not worth your money."

Great quality
"I have been using Kirkland fish oil for some time now. It is another example of the Kirkland brand's high quality. It does not repeat and contains just the right amount for the recommended daily consumption. All that and the very best price. As good as it gets."

Freeze em Baby
Pros: great value
"One method I've found to avoid the fish burp is to place the softgels in the freezer. They stay frozen until they reach your intestines thus avoiding release in your stomach which can cause the fish burp."

Great Fish Oil
Pros: tastes great, dogs really like it
Cons: none
"We use this fish oil to supplement our German Shepherds diets, and it does a great job. The dogs seem to really like it too. Great product at a very reasonable price."

Excellent dollar value
"The ingrediants vs. cost gives this product a great value. You can always buy a better product with higher Omega 3 but the cost is generally much more."

Review 9 for Kirkland Signature™ Omega-3 Fish Oil Concentrate 1000 mg, 400 Softgels
Cons: causes indigestion, causes fish burps, causes nausea
Model Number: Kirkland Signature Natural Fish Oil Concentrate 400 capsules
"I've never had a problem with fish oil capsules repeating on me, or causing "fish burps". Unfortunately, these did so. I took 1 fish oil capsule after breakfast. Even with a full stomach, this fish oil caused me to have a feeling of indigestion and nausea ALL day. It also repeated on me all day, although the repeats did not taste fishy. Just a very uncomfortable feeling. I've read that if you put fish oil capsules in the freezer, it might prevent this. The theory is that if a capsule is frozen, it won't dissolve in your stomach, and will wait to dissolve until it gets to the small intestine. That said, these made me feel so sick, I don't think I will bother experimenting. I will return these, and move on. Kirkland has many good products, but I think I'll pass on their fish oil."

Best product I can find
"Since my doctor told me to take 2,000 mg of Omega-3 Fish Oil with each softgel having 300mg Omega-3 fatty acids, I started looking for the best to use and price comparison. I take 7 softgels a day of Kirkland Fish Oil. This is the lowest cost way for me to go after many different companies cost comparison. This has lowered my cholesterol so I do not have to take a high dose of medication for cholesterol."

Good Product
"I decided on this product because it was USP certified to be free of heavy metals and fairly inexpensive. So far, I have had no fishy taste or adverse effects. I've been taking it for a month and in another five I'm going to see what it's done for my cholesterol. My current dose is 3 g of omega 3 per day (10 pills)."

Contains soy
"This product sits untouched in my freezer because I'm worried about the soy. I understand that it's a small amount used as a preservative, but since almost all soy in this country is genetically modified I am unable to bring myself to take this supplement or give it to my family."

Good, but not great.
Pros: good value, natural coating, usp certified
Cons: only 180mg epa/120mg dha
Model Number: 926628
"I'm in a quandary here as I'm on a major health kick and I'm doing a bodybuilding type "cutting" routine and workouts. I'm aiming for around 8 grams of EFA's a day (Essential Fatty Acids).
These have 300mg (180mg EPA/ 120 DHA) of omega-3 per softgel. Taking 28 of these a day (4-5 w/each meal) results in 280 calories- almost equal to one of my small, nutritious and filling meals.
The enteric coated ones, while a little more expensive are packing 684mg (410mg EPA/ 274mg DHA) per softgel...along with the same 10 calories apiece as these 300mg softgels. I would only have to take 12 of the enteric coated ones (120calories) to equal 8 grams of EFA's. BUT, the enteric coating is composed of all sorts of chemicals.
I'm eating extremely clean and healthy 6.5 days a week, so I don't want to put "Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose Phthalate" and "Methacrylic Acid Copolymer" and various other chemicals into my body multiple time per day. So, I wish they would sell the enteric coated dosage (684mg) without the enteric coating OR use a natural enteric coating."

USP rated
Pros: usp rated
Cons: none
"According to the US Pharmacopia this is a USP certified brand. I subscribe to their rating and review system which is used by medical professionals all over the nation. Every Kirkland product I've seen is labeled USP which is what is known as pharmacy grade supplements. As for this, they rated it an eight which is very good. The rating certifies the product and ingredient have been checked and it is what they claim on the label."

Who cares about the rest? (I have not used this product yet i am using salmon Oil and waiting for the lab test)"

Poor labeling
"Label says 300mg. How much is EPA and how much is DHA?
It also has soy which increases estrogen levels. I'm a male and have no desire to do so.
At 300mg per cap I'd need 41 per day to get any benefit. This is going in the garbage where it belongs."

soy?
"I contacted Costco and they said that the soy was not used for Omega-3 but as a source for Vitamin E which helps keep the product fresh. This stuff is USP tested folks, the same organization that tests our pharmaceutical drugs, so you know it's pure and safe, and because Costco is constantly overturning it's inventory it's always new and fresh, unlike what you may pull off a store shelf."

Contains soybean oil - seek alternatives
Cons: probably ineffective
"Plant omega-3's have no demonstrated value for the circulatory system and compete for absorption with the valuable omega-3's in fish oil. This product has apparently been reformulated and is now of dubious health value.
I have switched to the Alaskan salmon oil at costco for this reason, even though it is much more expensive."

Review 19 for Kirkland Signature™ Omega-3 Fish Oil Concentrate 1000 mg, 400 Softgels
"The price is excellent, but I have one question about the product. There are 1000 mg of Fish Oil and 300 mg of Omega-3 Fatty Acids. WHAT ARE THE OTHER 700 mg IN THIS PRODUCT? They should be specified. Fish oil could be anything and is too vague a term for me. I am a physician and would like to know what I prescribe."

Good value
Pros: value
"I have been using this product for 6 months. Taking 1 pill a day has helped raise my HDL by 10 points. I usually take the pill before dinner. This way I do get any fishy taste."
