Big improvement

Pros: easy water expression
"When my old one of these stopped pumping, I had to replace it. This one is bigger and even easier to use than my old one which I had for a number of years."

Great for my home office!

"I have had it for 2 weeks, and it's been on since day 1. I'm an avid tea drinker and I need to refill every 1.5 days. I drink mostly oolong and green tea and sometimes white tea, and I was a little unsure when other models have setting for 170 degree while this one doesn't (green tea is meant to be brewed at 140 to 190 degree, depending on the types). But it's not a problem for me so far, as I can let the water to sit in a cup to cool down from 194 degree easily if needed. I use water from my reverse-osmosis system and so far zero deposit or scaling. I love it! It makes working from home a lot more enjoyable.
I first wanted to install under the counter instant hot water for its asthetic look and convenience. However, after doing lot of research, I couldn't find one reasonably priced model that's realiable enough. I travel quite a bit and definitely don't want to have a kitchen flooded while I'm away due to rusted or failed components. Besides, I like the ability to look inside the tank to have peace in mind that I'm not drinking rusty water. So, I have decided that a counter model is what would work best for me. Did a lot of research on that as well and settled for this one because of the vacuum feature that saves energy, and it's from my trustworthy Costco."

Instant Hot Water Convenience

"Great if you love tea. Also can be used to make drip coffee, instant oatmeal, jello, hot chocolate, etc. This is my second one and I am addicted to it. I have never had a problem with rust. I use white vinegar to clean it, but you don't have to clean it very often."

low energy usage

"For those who complain about rust, the instructions state that if you have iron in your water, it'll deposit inside the kettle and you'll have to use an acidic cleaner to remove it. They sell it on the Tiger site. I have had it for a year and don't have any rust, probably because I do use filtered water.
I love the fact that it can be on and I can use the microwave or toaster oven without having to go reset a fuse. When it dies, I'll definetly replace it with another one. Love it!"

Kettle seems pretty good

Pros: keeps water hot with little energy, looks well made
Cons: a little expensive
"This item appears well made. The insulation and low energy use made it a no-brainer compared to the others.
How well it lasts is the only question. My old cheap one lasted 3 years. If this one does as at least that well, it will have paid for itself in low electricity consumption.

Love it!

Model Number: PVH-B30U
"I just received my hot water kettle yesterday. It is easy to set up and use. It is a cream color and looks nice and plain on the counter. It holds a lot of water - over 100 ounces. It has a convenient swivel base. It also has a safety lock so hot water cannot come out without pressing unlock first. I have only used it for instant cups of tea, but I plan to use it for cooking as well. I do not know how I previously lived without it. The reason I chose this Costco Tiger product is the quality and price. It is the most reasonably priced vacuum hot water kettle on the market and has similar features to the Zojirushi. I noticed a reviewer complained about rust, but that should be mostly avoidable. Tiger recommends always using filtered water and occasionally citric acid to keep the kettle clean. Other hot water kettle manufacturers provide the same recommendations."

"Great piece of appliance! I can have hot water anytime, day or night. I put my ... away! It is a necessity in every home. Put thermos away also. You saved money of not having several other appliances. Buying this save you money overall. Thanks."

Extremly satisfied

Pros: add a pro
Model Number: Tiger 3 quart electric hot water kettle
"I have just purchased my second kettle
yes the other one gave out after 3 + years of never being unplugged. The kettle still worked just the pad on top was a bit worn out.. I found out early on filtered water was the only way to keep the rust away. I use my britta filter water. Perfect for tea even drip coffee using a cone filter works great. Need a bit of hot water to thin a sauce its right there. I can't say enough about this unit.

Poor durability

Model Number: Tiger 3-quarter lectric hot water kettle
"I had this product for just over two years. It works fine in first year, but it starts rust from inside in second year. Now I have to throw it away since the rust contaminates the water. Cheap product!!"

Works Great

Pros: large reservoir - 3 quarts, 3 temperature settings
Cons: functional not especially pretty, water level indicator could be easier to read
Model Number: PVH-B30U
"Bought this hot water kettle a couple of months ago and use it everyday. It holds a substantial amount of hot water always ready for cooking or just making a quick cup of tea and three different temperature settings from which to choose. We have had it long enough that we are becoming addicted to always having hot water ready. The water level indicator is red and not as easy to read as it could be, especially for color-blind people."

Great Purchase

"I bought this Tiger Hot water Kettle over a year ago and I have used it almost every day. It heats water efficiently and keeps the water hot. I heartily recommend it for anyone."
