Easy to set up, fast, and easy to use.

"I really liked this FAX from the moment I set it up. It's incredibly fast. I like that it holds a lot of paper. It also has an accomodation for the received paper after it is printed out. The laser cartridge will last a lot longer than the inkjet cartridge of my last FAX."

Good Fax Machine for the $
"We've only had this fax for a month, but it is used heavily in our office and so far it has performed flawlessly. Easy to set up, easy to use. Hopefully the toner will last as long as the Xerox model this is replacing. Based on it's performance so far, I would recommend this fax"

Great Buy-as advertised
Pros: low cost per page, excellent quality b+w, easy to use fax
Cons: must install at a low height to see screen prompts

Price was right, performance is great.
Returned 4 inkjet printers and replaced with 2 of these workhorses.
Easy to set up. Worked fine on our digital (fiber) phone lines. Low cost per page printing and hi res B+W! Might buy a few more.
In service 3 months and didn't have to replace ink cartridges!!! yeah!"

"This is an easy to set up and operate fax and laser printer combo. Wish it was network capable, but works fine as a shared local printer. My last Brother laser fax printer lasted 10 years. This one has been working great for over a month."

Solid Fax for Home or Business
Pros: inexpensive, toner cheap, workhorse
Cons: not top of the line fax machine, model and design a bit dated, moderate big footprint

"I have probably purchased 15-20 of these fax machines for my company over the past 4-5 years. It's not the greatest, but it's a solid machine. And when it reaches the end of it's lifecycle, the low cost just means you toss it and buy a new one. (They usually last 2-3 years for us under medium to heave usage -- i.e., 100-300 pp of faxes in/out per day.)
Also, non OEM and OEM toner cartridges at low prices available from a lot of sources, including Costco."

DOA Waiting for Replacement

"Purchased this for my small home office. Costco service was excellent and it arrived quickly. However, out of the box it refused to move any paper from the paper cassette for printing even though I could manually feed a sheet at a time to make it work.
A call to Brother tech support was less than useless. After ten minutes of telling me how to place paper in the cassette - really? - I was told they would send me a new 'bottom' to the unit, but they would have to place a $50 hold on my credit card and I had three days to send the defective unit back. If I was late sending back the old unit I would be charged retail for the unit. Thanks Brother for the great service for a one day old unit.
I called Costco and they are sending a replacement. Hopefully this one will work as advertised.
Costco great - Brother 4100e and Brother support less than useful."

Cost Effective Fax
Pros: fast scanning & sending, durable, toner life, size
Cons: display small
"Excellent, cost effective unit for a busy office. Similar to the Brother 4750e I've used in a second office for a few years, problem free.
Toner lasts very well, with toner saver "on" (output still very acceptable.) OEM Toner prices at Costco are the lowest I've found. Drum lasts a long time, easy to replace, cost ok.
Size good for offices with tight desk space.
Has a phone attached to the side, which I would prefer not to have.
Display could be a little larger, but is easy to read."
