not ready for prime time

Pros: fine for small amounts of food placed in center 6"
Cons: uneven heating & wasted grate space
Model Number: DHSG-24L
"My first review was not posted, perhaps because I linked to another site where I had loaded many photos to illustrate the shortcomings of this product.
Anyway, it does not heat evenly as the back and very front are not as hot. In fact, the front 2" of the grate do not even fit under the ir burner that is located on the top front and angled toward the back.
I put chops in a 12" deep grill basket and placed it on top of the grate at next to top level and you could see the uneven heating.
Because the front 2" of the pizza stone is not under the burner, it remains raw after the two minutes when you are supposed to turn the pie. It is impossible to get a metal peel under the soft dough and the pie smooshes up. The pizza stone is probably meant to cook defrosted previously frozen pizzas which are partially cooked or to use a precooked crust like Boboli, not a made from scratch raw dough.
It does broil meats and fish if placed directly in the center 6" of the grate which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.
Not recommended."

Pros: no flare-ups, high temps
Cons: tray under grill, high price
"Very satisfied . will cook 4 bone in rib eyes medium rare in 8 minutes will no flare-ups ! only drawback i can see is the rails for the tray under the grate don't come out far enough . if you pull the grate out fully the tray comes loose ..messy and inconvenient when you're wrestling 5 lbs of meat . didn't buy the stand. bought an NSF stainless work table with casters . gave me more room to work ."

Nice Grill

"Although not as quick as they say in the product literature. This is a very nice grill that cooks meats/pizza to perfection. Somewhat small, so not great if you have huge "cookouts" with more than 10 people."

Great Grill

"Well, after 2 years of hemin and hawin about this grill I took the plunge.
Wasted two good years!
This is the absolutely the right grill for any one serious about their meat, au gratin potatoes, finishing off your Mac and Cheese
And probably any thin else you can think of that needs high heat.
As others have mentioned, the drip pan under the grill can be a pain, but that is a small price to pay for perfect Steaks."

So far, so great!

Pros: quick start up - 5 minutes and you're cooking!, quick & easy clean up!, easy to keep an eye on food as it cooks!
Cons: a light inside the grill would be appreciated. :-(
"Only a half-dozen uses so far, but I'm very pleased. No flare ups, no smoke, very LITTLE mess, great food; so what's not to like?
I skipped the base, opting instead for a wheeled wire cart that gave me more options."
