Excellent Prosciutto

Pros: boneless and lean product., very little waste., shipping is included.
Cons: hard to handle and store. it is heavy and bulky, takes a lot of room in frig.
"We are discerning prosciutto consumers. After our favorite deli raised the price of Parma Prosciutto to $23+ per lb - I looked for an alternative. This is an excellent product that we have tried with melon and dried pears and figs - it gets a 5 star rating from our family. Highly recommend buying an electric slicer - almost impossible to slice thin enough with a knife."

very good

Pros: really good
Cons: not properly what is normally called "parma" in it
"It's a very good ham even if the taste is not really the one of the called "Parma" in Italy. What I mean is that the Italian "Parma" ham use to be a little bit sweeter and tender. Anyway is a good purchase."

Great for an Open house

Pros: feeds a large group
Cons: need a sharp knife and some kind of holder/stand.
"The Proscuitto arrived in an insulated box and was cool to the touch. It sliced well with a very sharp ham knife and feed a huge group."

enjoyed the flavor

Pros: flavor and texture
Cons: a little bit salty
"A little bit salty which is a kind of normal with such product. Otherwise the Prosciutto definitely worths the bucks. You need to be able to slice it very thin so that you can enjoy it better."

Excellent Quality

Pros: highest quality fast delivery great customer ser
Cons: weight was less than specified
"Excellent quality Parma prosciutto. Daniele customer service was great, they answered all my questions.
Unfortunately, the weight was 16 3/4 lbs instead of claimed 18 lbs minimum. Costco refunded the prorated cost, immediately fixing the problem but that would be nice not to have it at all."

Italia at home

Pros: easy to keep on hand for all occasions, very versatile, sandwiches wrapped around grissini or melon.
Cons: best used with a slicer.
"We have bought two prosciutto legs and are thrilled with the product. After living in Italy for 25 years we missed not having prosciutto and bought our first one along with a slicer. I have to admit we go through them faster than I thought we would -- a sign that the meat is delicious! The best way to keep the product is to hang it (from the netting it comes with) from a ceiling hook some place cool like a cellar or garage. Delivery was 3 days and it came packed to withstand any outdoor climate."

BEST SO FAR

"Lived in Italy for a few years and really missed the taste of GOOD Prosciutto and the yuck you get at the market is SO expensive, especially for the way it tastes and is so chewy it lasts for ages.
BUT this Daniele ham is so mild and tender and the flavor brings back the memories of REAL Italian hams from when I was there.
Will order more and know you will enjoy yours when you get it.
And the value is great also.

Just like back home

Pros: will last long time wrapped in the fridge
Cons: none
"I grew up in Italy, not far from Parma where the best Italian prosciutti are produced, so the thin sliced prosciutto has been part of my diet since I dismiss my mother's milk!
We have bought four prosciuttos through Costco and we have never been disappointed.
The prosciutto has a pleasurable mild taste and less salt than other similar products, we use it in different receipes, the most popular is in the summertime in combination with good ripe cantalope.
You can use also one slice of prosciutto rolled with a leaf of sage and a veal scaloppine and cooked with butter olive-oil and white wine for a full tasty prime dish called "Saltinbocca", or more simple use it in a sandwitch with sliced cheese or butter.

Will buy number 2 shortly.

Pros: not too salty and tastess great time after time.
Cons: difficult to slice without it sliding all over., finally figured how to slice without losing finger
"We purchased this ham after having had a somewhat negative experience with a Spanish ham, specifically, it got very hard and impossible to cut after a very short time. After reading the reviews we thought it might be worth a try because we truly loved prosciutto but disliked the inconvenience of buying in 4 ounce quantities. We are sold on this ham and find many reasons to cut some very thin slices to serve to guests and to bring as appetizers to friends' homes for dinner. The ham is sweet and soft without undue saltiness and reminiscent of hams we ate in Italy. It is the real deal and as soon as this one has served its last slice we will replace it with another. Although it seems a lot to pay in one chunk, it has lasted slice after slice and we enjoy returning to it time after time for a reminder of past visits and wonderful hams we have known and loved."

Pros: delicius
Cons: zero
"I bought this prrosciutto, and when arrived I didn't know what i was going to get but when I opened the box I smelled the aroma that I used to smell when I was in Italy. So I unwrapted the giagantick prosciutto and cut a few slises ,waw it tasted just as good as the one I used to get in Italy, just perfectly delicius."

Excellent value for your money

Pros: much better price than specialty meat store
Cons: don't let the package sit in the hot sun
"This is an excellent example of a fine Parma ham. We have bought 2 so far and both have been of excellent quality. The ham is of medium softness, is not salty, and has a mild flavor."
