Easy to put together

Pros: easy handling
Cons: hollow boards
"A few boards were damaged during shipping, and some screws were missing, but customer service fixed that in no time.
The pieces are light and easy to put together.
I just wished the boards were not hollow. I don't feel that the screws are really secured.
It looks a little fake / cheap because of the fake wood grain that does not look like wood at all. But on the other hand, it feels like it will keep the clean look for much longer that real wood would."

Great Idea and Product

"We were looking at wood but I saw these and convinced myself they would be worth the extra money. They were! They look good and they will for years. Some advice: have 2 drills if you are doing several of these...one with a drill bit (for the pilot hole) and one with a Phillips bit for putting the screws in. Do your drilling on a table at a height that won't strain your back. Where knee pads when you install them. Enjoy!"

raised garden bed kit

Pros: versitile straight forward to assemble, lots of shape options, light enough for a woman to assemble
Cons: need electric screwdriver or drill w/screw head
"A wonderful kit. I made my bed 6 sided (lots of corners) and stacked the units.
One caveat, it takes an electric screwdriver, or a good starter hole.

Does the job!

"Easy to put together. I don't know why some people said they need instructions. I like the fact that you don't need to screw things together if you don't want to."

Great Product

"I read a few negative reviews that frankly I don't understand. This is a robust kit (the plastic frame is heavier than wood) that for the money has a high value ratio. Easy to install and I believe will last for many years."

Good enough for the cost

Pros: easy to assemble, less costly than wood/metal versions
Cons: fragile composite lumber
Model Number: 219594
"heavier duty kits with metal stakes and 2" dimension cedar lumber are about 50% more expensive. This kit is ok but the composite lumber is more plastic than other wood composites I have seen and it is hollow making it more fragile than I expected. We'll see how it holds up. I would like to use my small tiller to mix up the soil but if a moving tine hits this lumber it would likely shatter. Still this is ok for the price, looks ok and is easy to assemble even without directions."

Starting Over Made Easy

Pros: light and easy to assemble, attractive
"Lost my two landscape timber raised beds to a remodel and addition to the house two years ago.
This kit was certainly much easer than hauling heavy timbers from the home store, sawing, etc.
Light and easy to place.
Haven't filled it full of dirt yet, but seems like it should hold up.
Good for someone just getting into raised beds or one who farily sure it will be moved.
I only did a rectangle. Like the option of odd shapes, though.

Nice Looking Investment

"Received the two boxes in just a couple days. Contents were listed on the outside of each box but no instructions in either box. Even though I figured it out and was able to assemble it without too much trouble, I would have been more confident and faster with a few simple instructions."

Overpriced & Poor Quality

Pros: arrived within 5 days of placing order
Cons: no instructions provided
"I thought that this would be a higher quality product than what I received. I would suggest that the price should be about half of what I paid for the garden bed. One of the rails was damaged in shipping- I was able to put it facing inside and at the lowest level so it is not noticeable but it is still disappointing. I think that a kit with the connectors for $100 would be sufficient so purchasers could go to the home imporovement store of their choice and purchase higher quality redwood or synthetic lumber to make their own bed. This would create a sturdier and longer lasting planter. I forgot to mention that although installation was simple and intuitive...there were absolutely no instructions provided."

Great Start for a new home gardener

Pros: easy to install, price is right, good looking, low maintenance
"Bought this in May, took longer than expected to arrive but the bed was easy to install and the right size for my side yard. The frame is sturdy and looks great."

sturdy and easy to assemble

"I'm now ordering my fifth kit - it's that good! The kit makes gardening possible on uneven or degraded plots, such as my community garden - just assemble into the desired shape and fill with good-quality soil or compost. The other allottment holders are all jumping on the bandwagon!"
