Fabulous, After Installation

Pros: good value for the price, finish on tub legs and faucets, style is beautiful
Cons: fittings leak, faucet should attach to tub, installation
Model Number: 255149
"This tub is beautiful and is the focal point of the bathroom. It was a bear to install. Do hire a plumber because the fittings do leak. It took us a lot of time and testing to get it right. This will not be a DIY job. We are experienced DIY'ers, so we expect these things. We knew to hire the plumber and are glad we did. Even after he left, we still had to take a lot of time to finish the job. We bolted the tub to the floor so it is very sturdy. Other than installation, this tub is really nice. We love it!"

Best tub of my life!!

Pros: comfortable, excellent price, easy to install, beautiful
Cons: none
"My husband and I are perpetual house remodelers. I am a bath lover. We ordered this for our newest project, our master bath. It came quickly and perfect. The price is the best anywhere. But the best thing...it is the most comfortable bathtub I have ever had in my life. The angle of the back is perfect, creating the most relaxing bathing experience. The faucet was easy to install (my husband braced it to the wall with a wooden piece he made and it is perfectly snug) and it is gorgeous. We put the faucet on the wall in the center rather than at the end. An excellent purchase."

DO NOT BUY THIS!

Pros: looks nice
Cons: everything else
Model Number: classic clawfoot tub
"I am a general contractor and our homeowner purchased this for a master bath remodel. This is the most poorly designed faucet myself and the plumber have ever seen and installed. Every single fitting on the faucet is prone to leaking. We spent 2 days turning the main water off and on trying to stop the leaks. There are washers supplied which do not do the job. We ended up stacking 3 washers together along with tephlon tape and paste. We would get one to stop leaking than another would start somewhere else. Now the spout itself is leaking. I cannot see this faucet ever not leaking. We will be returning this product. Faucets are also unstable and should have a support to the tub. Also the waste line is cheap plastic that I would never use, We used solid ABS pipe in place. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. Looks nice but dont touch!"

Love it -- 3 ways to Anchor it!

Model Number: Ascot, aka Paris or Princess by American Bath Factory
"We just installed this tub today! It is absolutely beautiful and all the neighbors are jealous! Also, this is an outstanding price for a product that is available elsewhere for as much as $1k more WITHOUT the faucet, supply lines and waste pipes. BTW, We anchored it by glueing it in place with bath epoxy to the new floor tiles. But, we could have used the preferred peg method but didn't want to drill into the new tile (the peg goes into the claw foot). The other option is to attach rubber "mat" to hold it in place."

Not practical

"This tub looks good, however, it is not practical, it is not bolted down, in the event that you slip and have to put your hand on it for balancing, you may end yp breaking the pipes that stick out from the ground, since the pipes are long and not supported, if you or something bump into them, it can turn it into an emergency call to a plumber, think twice before buying."

Modifications needed

Pros: good price
Cons: not 100% thrilled
"Although the tub is attractive it was a bit of a disappointment. The drain from the tub is a thin plastic tube not a normal pipe needed to affix to the floor so a PVC pipe is needed. The free standing phone style faucets are not strong enough to stand alone. A stabalizer is needed to keep it from falling forward onto the tub. This is not provided and must be ordered from a plumming supplier which can be costly. It would help to have a shut off for both the hot and cold water pipes near the bottom of the external pipes."

Wow looking slipper tub & faucet!

Model Number: Item # 255149
"We are pleased with this gorgeous new tub! I wanted a tub where I could sit in it with my back mostly straight and have my head supported and this one does the job. Its faucet controls are super heavy and rich feeling. The Costco description doesn't describe the faucet well, so I will: it looks like it is from an English cottage with old style font "cold" and "hot" written in black on white. The shiny chrome feet and plumbing parts all finish off a super attractive tub. It'll be a focal point in any room. Great looking tub & faucet!"
