"I used these now for 6 months. I had trouble hearing my TV. These phones make the sound so clear, that for the first time in years I can enjoy TV without the Closed Captions. They are also very comfortable. I use the Sanyo rechargeable batteries I also purchased at Costco. I now can watch Monday Night Football in the same room with my daughter, while she is doing her homework."

"I've been using these headphones for two weeks now and they are fantastic. The sound clarity is amazing. You hear every little sound effect so well that I thought it was my own phone that was ringing a couple of times. It is also very comfortable and lightweight, and easy to transfer from location to location."

"This is my first set of wireless headphones, other than the cheap ear buds I bought a while back and those were worthless! With the Able Planet set, I can understand just about everything that the actors are saying on TV. I'm "only" 62 and seem to hear decently most of the time, but have had issues with certain TV shows where characters tend to speak in low tones and kept turning up the volume, to no avail. With my new headphones, I can leave the volume down or even muted and I can hear perfectly well without disturbing anyone else. Sure glad I found them! I read complaints about batteries going, but so far, I've only replaced them once in the couple of months that I've had them, though I don't use them all the time and I turn the set off - even if I'm just leaving the room - when I'm not using them."

"I have these infrared headphones attached to the main tv in my home. It's great for when you want to watch tv but the other people in the room wish for silence. Not only that, but the sound quality is great."

"Wearing comfort: Superior to TV Ears. Sound quality: Superior to TV Ears. However these headphones unlike TV Ears also faithfully reproduce your TV’s Dolby or Surround Sound which can overpower clarified speech. If clarified speech is your main objective you must turn off your TV’s Dolby or Surround sound when using these headphones."

Great home or in car
Pros: great fit, easy auto setup Cons: foam holds sweat if used on treadmill
"Purchased to use while on the treadmill. Direct line of sight works well at 30 feet. Much better than BlueTooth and RF headphones we tried before.
Also ordered two more sets to replace headphone for factory DVD player in '03 Mountianeer. Worked great no setup required!!"

"I bought this for my husband because he usually turns the sound so high on the TV that I have to leave the room because it hurts my ears. He is happy to use them because he can now hear what they say on his shows and they cut out all the noise in the house as well. And now I can sleep all night and not be interupted by the loud TV. We are both very happy with it..."

MUDDY TV SOUND MADE CRYSTAL CLEAR

"These headphones were purchased for the sole purpose of allowing me to hear the TV. They did what I wanted them to do better then I ever expected. They are durable, functional and comfortable.
I use high quality rechargeable AAA eneloop brand batteries from Costco that last at least a week (21 to 30 hours of usage). I keep a set in the charger so I can switch them out in a matter of seconds.
The headphones have a power on /off button so turn them off when not in use to extend battery use. There is a small but plainly visible light on the right phone to indicate on /off status.
The transmitter connects directly to the audio out jacks on the TV. A little experimentation might be in order here, depending on the TV (The connection to my Phillips plasma is different then my Vizio LCD). Once you connect to the correct output source on the TV you’ll hear the sweet sound. Just adjust the volume to your taste (control on right phone) and you’re good to go. It took all of 5 minutes from out of the box to up and running and I’m 70 years old and technically challenged.
If you miss a lot of the dialog on TV you need this product. It’s not just the volume adjustment but the circuitry that actually clarifies the sonic input to the ears.
I’ve used these for about 9 months now and I’m totally satisfied. A week after they arrived I ordered a second pair for my upstairs TV.
Best investment I ever made!"

"I purchased a set of these wireless headphones for the bedroom. It literally took me 10 minutes to install, very easy. I should have bought this a long time ago. It works amazingly. My wife can sleep as I watch my sports without waking her up. The sound is great and the headphones are very comfortable when in bed. I highly recommend."

"Even after 10 minutes of trail and error I could not find a locaton where the signal can be received properly (of course with new batteries). This is the case when I stand just before the transmitter within a few feet . Even the very faint signal received from the transmitter is lost every alternate second. I have been using/used a variety of wireless head phones, and I do understand that this is IR based. Worthless. Returning to Costco."

"These headphones do work, helping me understand speech better and hear the details and nuances. I have a better relationship with my TV now and with soap operas. And I gotta say, I *love* my 50-inch 1080p Panasonic plasma (yes, from Costco - of course), and now, with the help of these headphones, my TV loves me back.
I am hard of hearing, with about 80% loss, where even the hearing aids and cranked up volume on a sound system don't make speech much clearer. Have to turn closed captions on. Headphones (any headphones) help tremendously: they bring sound closer to you without room echoes and background noise, you can crank up the volume late at night without disturbing your neighbors' dogs. These headphones may not make speech any clearer than the next guy, but they do work as any other headphones: speech is so much clearer now. Hallelujah. Closed captions aren't as important any more.
The fact that they are wireless, pick up sound from nearly anywhere in the line of sight to the transmitter, at nearly any angle to the transmitter - so you can tilt and turn your head, and not lose sound - doesn't hurt either.
They are comfy despite relative heft and weight - I don't get tired having them on all night.
Battery life is 10-15 hours, and at the end of it, the headphones start popping and crackling - without any other warning. Even if you are tempted to return the headphones at this point - don't. Just replace the batteries.
Highly recommended, especially for hard of hearing."

Saves a marriage...
"The wife likes me in bed with her each night. She, however, goes to sleep so I spend about 1 -2 hours watching T.V. while lying down next to her. I use these headphones nightly. She hears nothing when I use this device. They work great, clear sound, easily controlled, great battery life and well constructed. As compared to the Sennheiser model I had for several years prior, these take standard AA batteries instead of some high priced proprietary ones. The only negative is that the sound is only broadcast within a narrow band of space, if I walk to another room, I lose the sound."
