Worst Purchase Ever!

Pros: costco's great customer service
Cons: everything about the quality of this shed
"Where should I begin? Shed arrived in a timely manner. Contractor, who was here working on another project offered to put together. I came back 2 hours later to find him in a holding pattern because preassembled pieces were assembled backwards so door would never open correctly; parts were mislabeled so instructions were superfluous; but the deal breaker was the finish had literally been thrown on witha bucket. There were literally handprints in finish all over front. and the tongue and groove doors were not "tonguing or grooving," there were 1/4 ' gaps between the pieces thereby rendering the tongue and groove useless.
Spent over $100 in contractor's time only to realize it would not only never come together correctly, but would also look awful because of the manufacturing "defects,"
Costco of course arranged to pick it up but all in all it was a waste of money and time. dont bother!!!

Measure carefully

"This is a nice looking storage unit & not too hard to assemble. BUT it's not really tall enough to store yard tools such as rakes. The shovel barely fit in. The shelves are oddly arranged."

A PLEASED CUSTOMER

"It was easy to put together, looks absolutely beautiful and well worth the money. We are planning to polyurethane the shed just to give it an extra coating of protection. I'm just praying that the shed can withstand the cold, snow, and wet weather along with the scorching heat. Time will tell. Also, my neighbor fell in love with the shed and I tried to order him one but there are no more to be sold."

5' x 2.5' Treated Spruce Storage Shed

Pros: matches rustic exterior of my cabin, easy to assemble
Cons: need to add additional fasteners, instructions don't come in the box
"I put this shed up in a couple of hours this past weekend. I did as others had suggested (added additional screws to the slats to prevent the staples from coming out) and the finished product looks really nice.
It's perfect for my needs, I'm storing smoker pellets and folding deck furniture inside of it. The shed did come with a nice bonus of an additional shelf that is installed on the left side (not shown on assembly instructions). I did not put it in my shed because i have larger items that needed the extra height.
You DO need to download the assembly instructions from the Costco website as they do NOT come with the unit. Assembly is straightforward but i ran into one minor item related to assembly:
With the doors mounted in the factory drilled positions (and right side up to prevent sag) the top of the door rubbed on the roof unit. I remedied this by removing the doors from the attached frame piece and repositioning them.
I do have to buy more screws to finish the retention i'm giving to the slats and there were a few minor quality items (scratch here and there and a few broken screws on the door frame)
Additionally, the doors were sitting outside as a light rain fell and it appears the rain caused some spotting in the finish. I do plan to stain and seal the unit later as i live in the pacific northwest and rain and snow will pound this thing.
Hoping that it holds up for many years to come, but with a few modifications i'm sure it will."

Exceed Expectation!

Pros: nice looking, double doors allows easy access, good packaging
Cons: awkwardness of doors installation
"Thanks to the 3 star average rating, I did not set my expectation too high; thus I was really pleasantly surprised with the product overall. I had delayed in getting this shed for a couple seasons but after looking high and low everywhere else, I found that most sheds this size were made in the non-attrative looking plastic material and at a even higher price than this wooden piece. So I finally decided that I had ... nothing to lose!
When opening it up, I was so delighted of the finish and all. Once the assemply completed, my sister even said - you could make it a sauna room! :^) Granted, another layer of sealant and a few extra screws/nails to reinforce the shed would be beneficial. But don't we need to do it for most outdoor products? If anything, I found the requirement to lay the shed on its back to install the doors was somewhat awkwark as it would need sufficient space greater than 6' x 6' to maneuver. And because I intended to put it on the narrow side of house, I had to finish the assembly in the garage then mvoed the complete unit to its intended location. Would have been nice to be able to move the unit prior to installing the doors for less weight. And yes, I am a female who did it all by myself, except the time to move it...
Oh, I also built a foundation in which I put 6 pieces of the retaining wall pewters at the bottom to raise the shed a little for easy access and for good ventilzation during raining season. The self-alligned rear lips were positioned to help leveling the slope!"

Good for the price

Pros: cheap, reasonable quality, fast assembly
Cons: needs a bit of prep, some reinforcement is advised
"Given the modest price this shed met my expectations. Be prepared to do a little of prep work before assembly.
I applied a waterproofing stain to all pieces before assembly.
I also used longer screws in a few locations, added a few support pieces
Slats can be reincorced to framing with a couple of galvanized screws, no big deal.
Add some silicone caulk to any gaps in the interior and you are done.
The key is to provide a level base as you would for any shed. I used treated 4x4 atop leveled pea gravel."

With Reservations

"The best thing about this shed is that it looks good and is reasonably priced, however it is a bit too low for one thing and the hinges on one door did not fit properly and even after expanding the round slot it still does not move smoothly. In addition the weld on one hinge was poor which restricts movement of one door. The sliding lock is poorly designed and I replaced with gate magnets and handles. Even though I would recommend to a friend I would warn him/her of the limitations."

DO NOT BUY- will fall apart

"Looks good but thats about it.
Slats starting falling off after 1 day. Company offered me $100 rebate and its still not worth it. Other reviewer was right about poorly built and staples not long enough. Every time it rains or there's a wind gust, more fall off

Great Looking!

Pros: easy to put together, looks great, the extra shelving is very helpful, shipping was prompt and all parts in great shape
Cons: the stapling to the frame is only adequate, extra stain is advised for protection and looks
"My handy man put this together in little more than an hour. I put on a coat of stain which made it look really good. It has rained twice now with no leaking anywhere. It is sitting on my deck and gets many complimentary looks from my neighbors. I think reading a number of other reviews will give any customer a good sense of the value of this little shed."

Never a doubt it is great

Pros: super easy to assemble
"When I saw the shed in The ad, it was just the thing to fit our needs. We have a small back yard and the size was right. My husband and I put it together in just over an hour with just a power screwdriver. It looks fabulous in our yard"

Don't buy this shed

Pros: looks good out of the box
Cons: can't handle rain, poorly built
"Started falling apart within a year. I thought I could repair it; however, I lost all the doors and most of the slats after three years. Staples too short to hold the product together and the wood swells in wet climates like the Pacific Northwest."

Good for light duty

"I have three of these sheds and am ordering a fourth. I keep lawn and garden tools in two of them and use the others for patio furniture cushion storage.
NOTE: I took the advise of others and used wood screws to reinforce the slats the are stapled on. This worked very well.
I live in the Pacific ocean and have had the sheds installed for about 8 months. They have been subject to some pretty extreme coastal weather and are holding up well.
I would recommend this shed for light-medium duty storage, but only if you plan to reinforce the slats with screws."

also the shed color is gray now.

Looks good, functions mediocre - hinges failed

Pros: looks good
Cons: weak hinges, would be great with another 9"-1' in ea dimension
"I would recommend to anyone who just needs some storage for some gardening tools and small things.
Without modification, it will not hold an average size push mower.
Hinges broke when gust of wind blew door open - on both sides, separate occasions."

Great for the Price

Pros: well designed, easy to assemble, cost efficient
Cons: needs additional finish, needs a few screws to beef up the construction
Model Number: Item # 297644
"I build a lot of things myself - this shed is great for the price. It is easy to assemble and has useful interior features (shelves, table). To get the most out of this product (I live in a 4 season area on the East Coast and it will get a lot of heavy use) you must do a couple addtional steps - finish it, raise it, caulk it, affix finish strips...this is not a big deal (I'm a 50+ year old woman who did all this myself, including the assembly that recommends two people). Finish (Solid color stain on the outside, marine varnish on the inside - varnish BOTH sides of the floor with multiple coats. Raise - put some plastic risers on the bottom - the kind you get for the bottoms of chairs - you just hammer them in like a nail (I don't like wood on the ground even if it's on a brick patio like mine)- Caulk - my shed didn't go together with water tight seams so I just ran a bead of caulk around the seams. Strips - since it is stapled, I got 7 strips of wood and attached them on the corners (6) and the back seam (1) with construction adhesive and a few screws. It adds strength and an additional aesthetic detail. Love It!"

Looks great!

"Better quality than I expected. Easy for two senior citizens to put together. Bought two sheds. One for shovels, rakes, etc. The other I put my potting bench in which gives me a nice dry work area. Good for wet North West. Matches the new cedar fence just put up which makes the Homeowners Association happy!"

Disappointed by Quality

"Just after 2 month, side piecesa are falling. All front panels are all dark (black color) after just a couple of rains.
I did not have this problem with older and larger version of COSCTO storage shed.
You get what you paid for. Cheap and bad quality."
