Only partially works

Pros: good size, on/off button
Cons: quality issues, range is shorter than my previous belkin router
"Installation was easy enough (more or less) but the USB port doesn't work. I tried with multiple devices and it kept asking me to "plug a USB drive". Waste of time... I am returning it to the store."

Not good

Pros: tech help
Cons: slow
"speed 4' from computer was 25mbs. Call tech help, said that happens even though wired was 35mbs. Returned and bought "d-link dir 825" now I get 35mbs no matter where I put the router."

Works like a charm

Model Number: 300N
"Router was easy to set up and has, so far, worked extremely well. No need for computer expertise, just the ability tio read directions. Have ethernet and wireless connections and both are working well."

Cons: a little pricey

The Worse tech support I have ever had

Model Number: WNR3500L
"On the box it says the parental control and also it says as requirement for OS, Mac is supported, but when I tried to use the feature it was not working for Mac. I called in and someone from India answered. After manay: "Would you please hold, so I can check my resources", I found she could not understand the issue. I even walked her through the task, with no luck. I asked her to give me someone in the US, then I ended up to next level instaed of a rep in the US. Even worse, the last guy that supposed to be higher level just said: "It is not possible". I said: :This is not in the product specification." He said: Hum!
I believe Netgear is an American company, but does not have anyone in the US to help its customer. That's what I was told by its Indian tech support.

Best Router Ever

Pros: good range, pat with naton the same setup, dose not drop signals, traffic meter so you know how much data
Cons: usb feature not good, must update firmware before port forwarding rules
Model Number: N300
"This is by far the best router I ever owned.
I’ve been in networking business for more than 18 years, and the best router ever for the following reasons:
Does not drop signals, I purchased LinkSys 4200, and my son was playing Xbox, the LinkSys kept dropping the signals and my son lost that every game when signals are dropped, you won’t notice signal dropping when you use a laptop, but with Xbox, you know that the signals were dropped.
Long range where my router is literally the opposite side of the my bridge that receives the signal from the Router is in the basement east of the house, the far end is the upper room west of the house and I get 160 mbps, if I put the receiver end between 2 rooms, I get 244 mbps, they say 300 mbps, but that is the theory, with open air (no walls or obstacles).
Best feature is it has a PAT (Port Address Translation) along with NAT (Network Address Translation) with the same setup, that means you can setup the forwarding ports to be different from the default, example: I have a web server that goes to port 80 (the default), and I put a rule in the port forwarding to be 55580, so I tell my friends to his my web address website with that port, so I do not get network attacks on port 80, like I used to get on other routers.
The router has a traffic meter so you know how much data you are consuming every month, especially if you have Netflix and you need to know how much data you consumed monthly before your ISP charge you for extra data usage.
An important thing when installing the router, you MUST reboot the cable modem with the router when you first install the router, otherwise you won’t get an IP address from your ISP.
Before you put Port forwarding rules, you have to update the hardware, otherwise you will not see the rules (even they are there, and working), but you won’t be able to see them or edit them.
The USB feature is kind of flaky, I didn’t like the setup, and it messed up one of my USBs (totally un-recognizable by any machine now).

Not Happy

"I could not get this product to work on my computor. I called the toll free number, spent over an hour on the phone. The service tech could not get it figured out, even with his supervisor. Their solution was that the product was defective. I returned it and purchased a different brand that was working in less that 15 minutes."

Poor Quality Product

Pros: slim design
Cons: poor or no user messages, low reliability and product life, limited warranty means it won't last for long.
Model Number: WPN824NA
"I bought a RangeMax WPN824NA in 2009 and it just died without any warning or error message. The one year warranty should have been a sign that it would not last very long. I travel for work and used the router only on weekends, holidays, and a few other weeks per year. And it died in 2 years!! Really, these are poor quality products. Don't waste your money. I am shocked that Costco is selling low quaity junk like this."

Worst Tech Support

Model Number: WRN3500
"This router has been mostly trouble free. However, when we needed tech support from Netgear, we were left on hold for more than 2 hours without ever getting to speak with a technician."

Nice router - easy set up

Pros: ease of set up
Cons: a little on the pricey side.
Model Number: RangeMax Wireless N Gigabit Router
"I purchased this router and have had it for about 5 days now.
I am wanted/needed to replace my old Netgear router (5 yrs. old) and I saw this new model available here at Costco.com.
The set up was very easy using the resource CD Netgear provided.
It was up and running within 15 minutes, and so far, is performing well.
I like the built in internal antenna's. No more having to move those things around.
I never really had any issues with my old Netgear router and I don't anticipate any with this new model.

This Router is AWESOME!

Model Number: WNR3500 BLACK
"I've only had this router for 6 hours, but it has fixed all our internet problems. It was very easy to install using the easy setup wizzard, once I enabled my LAN card in the control panel. The router's "Push and Connect" feature found my old wireless adaptors and connected them. Super Fast on all connections! Configuring the security was a breeze. Love this router so far! I would recommend this to all my friends."
