Love-love-love it!
Pros: lots of additional pieces in price.
Cons: it's a very big box on a pallet so have help!

"Thought long and hard about this purchase and am so glad I jumped in. It's the same reformer I've used @the local YMCA, but the new springs and easy-gliding rails are so wonderful compared to the reformers that have been used for a while. My pilates teacher came over to setup the machine, but it looked pretty easy. She was amazed at all of the great equipment that came with the reformer. This machine is worth it as long as you know you will use it!"

Outstanding Value

"I've had this reformer for almost a year and it has held up very nicely. Assembly was relatively intuitive, although the paper instructions aren't entirely clear. The unit is very sturdy. It is relatively heavy and I did have to enlist help in moving it from one room to the next (i.e. it is difficult to transport using the built in wheels). The enclosed DVDs provide excellent instruction and give you a great foundation for more advanced material. For additional exercises, I'd recommend the Complete Universal Reformer Series by Classical Pilates Technique."

Very Happy with product
"We bought this machine to complement our elliptical. Neither of us had any pilates reformer experience. The machine was easy to set up and we can easily move the location if need be. The only negative thing I have to say is learning pilates from watching a DVD is difficult if you do not know the basic concept of the exercises and how to align your body. The DVD's seem to be geared toward instructors to help them to teach pilates. It was a rough start, but now that I understand the workout, I love the reformer."

I am so glad I took the plunge
Pros: easy to assemble, smooth, fun, convenient, doesn't fold (more sturdy that way)
Cons: not affordable for everyone, takes the space of a twin bed

"Great Machine! I have had it for about 6 weeks now and I can definitively see and feel a difference.
The machine came about 90% put together (what a relief). Easy, easy to put together. It is smooth and comprehensive. I am so glad I purchased it, I would definitively recommend....this will pay for itself after one year. I use to pay $60 per hour with an instructor.....

Sturdy Product & Good Value
Pros: study and many options
Cons: rope & pully system not adjustable
"This is a heavy duty reformer with ability to go from beginning to advanced training. It has many options and features that are usually only found on reformers that cost over $5K. It is very large, however, so I would not call this a portable model. It is heavy too and hard to move. Only poor design is the ropes/pulleys. It is virtually impossible to change the length of the ropes to accomodate different exercises or different height users. To change the length you have to turn the reformer over and change the position of the manual knot each time you want to shorten or lengthen."

"A while back I was in the market to purchase a pilates reformer and spent time online researching my options. This is the machine that will provide you with the most features and best quality at a reasonable price. In my opinion, you can't go any more "economical" and get a reformer that works as well. The Stott company also offers many good instructional books and DVD's on their website. Hopefully Costco will be able to add some of the learning resources as well."

"I love this machine. I can get a great work out with combined stretching and strength. It is easy to use and I quit going to the gym. It is very expensive but maybe that is why I use it every day."

"I got the Stott Pilates reformer package in March and absolutely love it. The reformer is solid and well built and the additional pieces are fantastic. Even though it is pricey, this package is a good value when comparing the cost of each item separately. High price tag is the only reason I didn't award it all 5 stars."

"This is a professional grade piece of exercise equipment. It came virtually 100% assembled. The wheels and springs are very smooth and it provides a great work out. The written instructions were a little cryptic, but with the DVD, it became apparent how to adjust the ropes and position the carriage. The DVD workouts are about a "C" - it is difficult to keep adjusting springs if you are working out alone."

"I had been researching home Reformers for months and was SO happy that Costco offered the Stott Pilates SPX Package as a Hot Buy again this month. I ordered it on Monday and it was delivered on Thursday. This Reformer is beautifully built (in Canada!) and a true joy to work out on. The package includes the jumpboard, extender, long box and pole - all items you will use constantly. The 3 DVDs are professionally produced and are invaluable tools for learning the set up, care and use of the Reformer. You will not be disappointed with this purchase. It is a great buy for the money - and for your health! Yeah Costco!"

I learned how to do pilates on professional Stott equipment, with a private trainer. After spending a LOT of money for private sessions, I decided it was time to own a reformer. In the end, the cost savings is huge (if you love pilates). This at home reformer feels just the same as the professional one I used before, except it's a bit lower to the ground (no big deal). You can EASILY move it from room to room which is a plus. The whole pakage with videos and accessories plus shipping makes this an incredible deal. "Just got this delivered today. I ordered it less than a week ago. Two days after ordering, I got a phone call to set up delivery. The reformer came almost completely assembled. So far, a smooth ride. I will update once I do a few more workouts. This is a great deal!"

"Reformer classes are pricey, and you have to go regularly to see results. Since I enjoyed so much, I decided to purchase a home reformer. Stott is the leading brand on the market and the Home SPX compares well to the professional grade Stott equipment I've used in the studio.
The Costo offering of this item comes with more DVDs and ancillary equipment (jump board, platform extender, long box, etc.) than the other online offers.
Very easy to assemble. Easy to move, too. I've used every day since it arrived so I definitely feel that my investment will pay off!"

Amazing product for the price
Pros: low to the ground but not on floor, quiet and smooth, excellent quality
"I am an intermediate Pilates student, whose goal is to be an advanced student in a year or so. I practice Pilates a total of 5 days a week. I have used the Balanced Body studio reformer and a Peak Pilates studio reformer. Usually the latter with my teacher. I am so happy with my Stott reformer! Love it! It doesn't have leather straps, and it is made of chrome instead of wood, but so what... I get all my exercises done, which is the important thing. It is just as good as other ones I've tried! This deal from Costco is unbeatable. WOW! I saved around $500. I really wanted a jumping board plus no shipping! I ordered it Sunday morning, it was in my garage Thursday night."
