Great for Beginners

"I read the reveiws before I purchased this item and have to agree the stand is really useless if this item is to be used by children. The head phones seem to work fine so far though. This keyboard sounds great definately not the kind I had as a child. I researched this item on line and couldn't find a better price unless you manage to get it on sale. My 10 year old daughter loves it."

Great purchase!

"My children absolutely love the Yamaha EZ200 - particularly the listen and learn feature. We have a piano in our home, but this is our first keyboard. I appreciate that it comes with stereo headphones so I can enjoy a quiet time while they play.
As others have said, the stand is not made specifically for the keyboard, but we have had no issues with it. My 9-year old son plays all the time and it has proven sturdy."

Quality Lacking

Pros: lighted keyboard
Cons: quality
Model Number: EZ 200
"Purchased Nov. 2011 for daughters Christmas present. Found out from daughter later that headphones did not work fully from day 1 - investigated as connection issue I could not correct. Bought 3rd party pair. It is June 2012 and power has an issue. Did not bother to investigate. Daughter said it keeps shutting down. Since these are electronic issues, I cannot blame mistreatment by a 12 year old."

Very Pleased

"As a beginner on the keyboard, I researched various products and quickly decided on the EZ200 because of the reputed tone quality of Yamaha and the fact the keys are touch sensitive. I have found the tone quality to be quite good considering this is far from the top of the Yamaha line of electronic keyboards. I have not had any of the problems with the headphones mentioned by other reviewers. Also, I find the stand to be quite sturdy and well made; it is just that the keyboard does not attach to the stand so it could be knocked off without appropriate precautions. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase, and delivery was much sooner than what was projected."

Arrived defective

Model Number: EZ200
"My joy was shortlived as I removed the keyboard from the box and plugged it in. One of the keys stayed illuminated and there was no sound when it was pressed. I had to return the keyboard to my local Costco.
I give it 1 star because of the quality. I mean if this thing is coming from China, the least they can make sure is that all the keys work as a quality control checkpoint, it puts the Yamaha brand name to shame.
I am going to order one more and try my luck, already lost 1.5 week of practice for my daughter piano lessons.

Better than I thought

Model Number: Yamaha EZ200
"I was apprehensive buying the keyboard as I thought, for the price, it would sound tinny. It has a beautiful tone and many options which I have yet to explore. I am very happy with the keyboard. There have been some comments from others about the stand being flimsy. I don't find it so, but I don't move it around and just sit down and play when I am the mood."

nice keyboard for the price.

Pros: price
Cons: speakers are so so
Model Number: EZ200
"Nice inexpensive keyboard for the kids to play around with. I like that it has velocity sensitive keys. The famous 'yamaha grand piano' sound is pretty enemic through the tiny built in speakers, but sounds quite good through the headphones. The stand is generic, but decent quality. Overall a fine purchase."

Great Keyboard Piano

Pros: great quality keyboard and sounds, lighted keys but not needed to learn to play
Cons: new stand is needed
Model Number: EZ-200
"Excellent piano with lots of features such as using the keyboard to play other instrument sounds, such as a guitar or or a flute for example. I read about the problem with the stand and decided to purchase one anyway. Sure enough the stand does not allow the keyboard to be attached and just sits on top of the stand. Its ok if you don't have any kids around otherwise suggest buying another stand."

Good keyboard, incompatible stand

Model Number: EZ 200
"The keyboard is very good with touch sensitive keys. It is helpful if you are looking for a keyboard that somewhat simulates a piano.
The lighted keys help you learn the stored songs quickly. This is a very popular entry level Yamaha keyboard for this feature in addition to the fact that it is Yamaha quality sound.
The issue I have is with the stand that is packaged. The stand is a very basic X style stand and is totally incompatible with Yamaha keyboards. The keyboard easlity slides off the stand. So I would advise anyone considering this package to buy a compatible stand that can secure the keyboard with screws. So prepare to spend at least $20 for a stand.
Personally I will be returning this to local Costco and will buy another Yamaha (YTP 320) and stand separately."

Good keyboard, bad headphone and stand

Model Number: EZ-200 keyboard, stand and headphone
"Keyboard is very good. Music teacher wanted a touch sensitive keyboard. My daughter and her music teacher liked it. 5 stars for the keyboard.
Headphone : Comfortable but only left side works. Right side does not work. 2 stars.
Stand : Does not latch to keyboard. Keyboard can easily slide off if bumped. If you have toddlers at home, keep it away from them. 2 stars.
I will return it as soon as I buy another keyboard in few days."

Good for starters

Pros: good keyboard for beginners.
Cons: problem with headphone, unsuitable stand
"Bought it for my daughter. She was pretty excited about the lighted keys. Good for beginners. The stand is more to place the keyboard, its doesn't lock the keyboard in place. One of the side of the headphone that came with the pack did not work. Thatz the 2 downsides. Keyboard is pretty good."

Generic Keyboard Stand

Pros: yamaha quality
Cons: generic stand
Model Number: EZ200
"The Yamaha Keyboard is as expected... Yamaha quality. The stand is generic and so the Keyboard just sits atop the stand. Keyboard can easily fall off if bumped. There are slots and holes for bolts underneath but that's for a Yamaha stand (model L3C, purchase separately)."

worth the money

"Bought this for my 9 year old , who is taking lessons. She loves the lighted keys for easy play. She has fun playing the selection of pre-recorded songs. Great choice of songs! This is a great purchase for beginners, lots of features. You cant go wrong with a Yamaha."
