Gotta Love Digital Wireless

Pros: ability to move the cameras
Cons: needs more digital wireless cameras
Model Number: DVRDW1200
"This is the first Digital Wireless Camera DVR System I have seen in the marketplace. I gotta tell ya I was a little skeptical when I bought it because I have owned other wireless security cameras before. But this is in no way like the old analog stuff. I actually get a signal from over 300 ft away with no interference. I had to install 2 cameras about 300-400 feet away from the DVR. I calculated the costs of buying more cable and repeaters to mount a wired camera over 300ft away and it was cost effective to go with this system. In addition, I can move the digital wireless cameras easily by just plugging them in someplace else. This system gets a 10 out of 10."

Poor signals

"The wireless cameras have very poor signals. Although the set up signals allow you to select how many seconds you want the camera to scan for signals, but it doesn't scan as you set it. It has 5seconds, 10seconds and 15seconds. I set it at 5 seconds, but it scans at 15-20 seconds. Between the scans, there is no pictures. It's a pitch black. The two non-cordless cameras, only one work. The other worked for about 5 seconds and it stopped working. The only camera working has good images and clear pictures. I wouldn't recommend this unit."

Good Camera's, Poor DVR

Pros: good wireless cameras
Cons: dvr not very good
Model Number: Homeland Security Digital Wireless DVR
"I purchased this system concerned about how well the wireless cameras would work. As it turned out, all of the cameras worked fine. It was the DVR that was the disappointment. First of all the user interface is terrible, nothing like a windows application. Second my TV's VGA input had trouble getting sync with the DVR. I never had a problem using the TVs VGA input before. Finally, only one person at a time can view the cameras over our network. Overall a very flimsy and cheap DVR."

Pretty good System

Pros: good wireless camera's which also streams audio.
Cons: poor dvr menus and poor customer support
"The wireless cameras worked very well, I wish they would have 4 instead of 2 wireless and 2 wired. Overall the unit is good but the DVR menus are much to be desired.
The one main gripe I have is the poor customer support. I called asking about network setup and they told me they don't support the network feature...are you kidding me?"

Incredible Security System!

Pros: digital wireless cameras were so easy to install.
Model Number: Homeland Security Digital Wireless DVR
"Bought this digital wireless dvr system last month and so far, I couldn't be happier! I was a little concerned with the wireless camera range, but I live in a two-story house and I installed the cameras outside in the back of the house and the reception is perfect. I installed the wired cameras closer to the DVR so I wouldn't have to deal with running so much cable throughout the house, and I put the wireless cameras about 200-300 feet away. Now I can see all 4 corners of my property!! I also found the DVR to be quite good as well and with the mouse interface I was able to get it setup in no time. Don't see what the bad review was about. If I could set it up, it must be easy! I definitely recommend this product."
