Excellent results

Pros: excellent results. i like my coffee even more now.
Cons: fussy to clean after each use.
Model Number: Capresso Infinity Conical Burr Grinder Model 565.04
"The Capresso Infinity is easy to use and produces consistent grounds. It's easy to adjust the setting - 16 steps from ultra-fine to coarse - to get exactly the grind you desire. I am thrilled with the results.
The hopper holds far more beans than the container for the ground coffee. Most of us coffee purists will only put enough beans for one time into the hopper since we want to clean the leftover grounds from the grinder each time - Old ground coffee is not as good as fresh ground.
Cleaning is a bit of a nuisance and if one isn't careful there will be some wasted grounds. Static cling will often occur with fine grounds."

Fantastic

"I really have no idea why I hesitated so long to get this grinder! It grinds the beans so evenly and fine it is so impressive! I am very pleased with this grinder. I have yet to have any problems stated by some of these reviews??? No static, no ground beans spraying everywhere. I really am unsure as to what these users are doing with the machine to get these problems. This is a keeper for me!"

Could be better!

Pros: well made.
Cons: could be a better design.
Model Number: 565.04
"My wife bought this for me for Christmas. The idea was to make freshly ground coffee instead of pre-ground coffee from the store. And it did provide that benefit. BUT, as is often the case, there were difficulties. First, the grinder must be cleaned every time it is used. Not a major problem but annoying just the same. Second, it grinds finer than we would like even on the coarsest setting. Third, the coffee became statically charged during the grinding process. This created a real mess when removing and pouring the coffee from the ground coffee container. Coffee flies everywhere (floor, counter, you, etc.) creating a mess requiring cleanup. Lastly, the chute that the coffee travels to the ground coffee container became jammed. This required me to remove the rotating head of the grinder to dig out the coffee in the chute. This cost me an additional half an hour for a grinding time of a couple of minutes. That soured me on this product and I simply returned it to the store. I don't need the cleaning chores that go along with this grinder no matter how well it grinds coffee."

Very good coffee grinder

Pros: quiet and makes great coffee
Cons: a little pricy
"I purchased the grinder to replace a Saeco grinder, I purchased from Costco 5 years ago. The Saeco died and was never a good product. The Capresso works well, is quiet and is easy to clean. Also my coffee tastes better."

Good grind, but beware the lid

Pros: less static than my old grinder, grinds well
Cons: lid fits too loosely
Model Number: 565
"I have been using my grinder for 2 weeks. Whether you would like this grinder might depend on the way you use it. I grind at the lowest "fine" setting. I have not tried "extra fine". I do not store beans in the container. I measure the amount of coffee beans as I load the bowl and grind all of them. This avoids using the timer to grind the desired amounts. I store the grinder in a pantry and move it to the counter when needed. I do not try to use the cord storage. Having it snaked behind the grinder does not bother me. What does bother me is the lid's propensity to fall off during transit. It has a very shallow lip that fits into the bowl. I manage to knock it off about 50% of the time I move it. Today it fell all the way to the floor and broke. I'll be contacting Capresso to order one or more. They cost $1.30 plus shipping."

Makes Great Coffee

Pros: makes great coffee, very stylish
Cons: round cord storage worthless, very messy, inconsistent timing
Model Number: 565
"When the timer setting of my previous Cuisinert grinder became inconsistent I decided to look for a new device. Since my wife and I both are coffee perfectionist I decided to research the various types available. My research showed that a gear driven model was best because of the lower temperatures generated during the grinding process. The reviews of the various products also indicated that Capresso 565 was the best in class.
Although the Capresso grinder is very attractive and makes the best coffee I've ever made at home, the attention to functional details is missing.
The excess cord storage under the grinder is virtually useless because the round cord is not held securely in place. Additionally, the cord diameter is larger than the height of the rubber feet on the bottom so every time the grinder is moved the cord pops out and makes it unstable on the counter top.
As mentioned above the grinder is very stylish. Unfortunately the stylish design of the ground coffee container make it difficult to scoop the coffee out of it. The container is held in the grinder by the split plastic base that is open to the surface below. Invariably, some of the ground coffee falls through to the counter below and makes a mess that requires cleaning.
Lastly, this model does not have a power switch or other means to prevent the grinder from starting once the timer setting is moved from the off (0) position. Because there is no way to prevent the grinder from starting, the amount of coffee ground is only somewhat relative to the timer setting. Therefore, if one turns the knob slowly and releases it more coffee is ground than if one turns the knob quickly and releases it immediately. This makes it necessary to always measure the amount of ground coffee at least if one desires consistency of taste and strength as my wife and I do. This also makes the maximum position (10) on the grinder wasteful if the coffee maker only brews a maximum of ten cups as ours does. This is because a slower turn will grind more than the recommended for ten cups and the remainder of will need to be discarded or saved for another day.
In summary, if you don’t mind holding the cord every time you move the grinder, cleaning up the counter every time you use it, and always measuring for the perfect brew…it makes wonderful coffee.

Great, but a little messy

Pros: great grinder, quiet
Cons: a little static, a little messy when cleaning, too much grinds leftover in grinder
Model Number: 565.04
"Excellent grinder, only drawback is a little static which can be avoided if you wait about 20 minutes before emptying. My only peeve is that there is alot of grinds left in grinder after you are done. Cleaning is a little messy, especially with dark roasted beans - maybe that's why Capresso has directions to clean your grinder daily."

Comparison to a $40 grinder

Pros: very quiet no electromagnetic interference (emi)
Cons: the grind cup has a flat bottom
Model Number: 565.04
"I have been using a Braun Coffee Grinder that I bought about 12 years ago for $40. In some ways these are very similar, both are burr grinders, both have the same number of grind settings and the grind settings are about the same. I have to use the finest setting on either machine for my Gaggia Espresso machine.
I like the Capresso better simply because it is much quieter and does not cause electrical interference with the TV set. The Braun has a loud, high frequency pitch that sets off the tinnitus (ringing) that I have in my ears.
The Capresso grinding burrs are a lot larger than the ones in the Braun and since they turn slower, there is nowhere near the "static cling" in the grinds.
The one thing that Jura could take from the Braun is the shape of the cup that holds the grinds. The Capresso has a flat bottom so if you only grind enough beans for one or two cups, it is difficult to get them out of the cup with a normal scoop. The Braun has a cup shaped (rounded) bottom so you can scoop out all the grinds. Also the Capresso scoop is pretty much useless, the handle is too short, but I use the scoop that came with my Gaggia."

Best grinder that I have owned

Pros: fast, quiet, consistent
Model Number: 565
"This is by far the best of several grinders that I have owned. The reduced burr speed of the Capresso makes a uniform grind that is never clumpy (I use fairly dark roast beans from Peets with some oil on the surface). My curiosity was peeked by several complaints of statically charged, flyaway grounds. I have experienced none of that. The normally higher relative humidity near the ocean dissipates static charge quite effectively. Those in dry climates will have a very different experience."

Second Review Worth the Time

Pros: bulletproof and easy to use
Cons: static as stated in text
"I reviewed this product shortly after buying it and have now had it around two years. The machine is amazing. I do find one thing somewhat irritating, That is that just after grinding the coffee is statically charged and makes a mess when you remove the tray. Solution is to grind for the next pot, and when you then take the grounds, the static is gone. A glass tray would eliminate this. Other a perfect product, Each pot and cup is consistent. Love this and would buy again (but built like this probably won't have to. Troy"

Excellent grinder when used properly

Pros: uniform grind, low maintenance, doesn't heat ground coffee
Cons: the collection container can jostle loose
"I've read a bunch of negative reviews (although most are positive) and have the following points to make:
1) green coffee beans are meant to be roasted whole - there's no purpose whatsoever in grinding them green
2) if you wait for about 3-5 minutes after grinding, the static dies down in the container and you can rap it on the table and the grounds will uniformly fall to the bottom - without flying out; then emptying it into a filter is a piece of cake
3) you cannot grind frozen beans directly from the freezer, you must thaw them out first for at least an hour or so
4) it's a poor idea to grind the beans in advance and then store them as grounds - the best aroma and flavor are obtained by grinding immediately before use - so the comments about capacity and storage are ill-conceived
5) I use a Capresso CoffeeTEC pot and setting the grinder to 10 makes a full 50oz pot of coffee that's strong and flavorful; it's hard to imagine how much more one would need to grind at one time.

Excellent Product

Pros: excellent performance., looks good, quiet, not messy
Cons: not a one
"This is the 3rd grinder I've purchased. The first 2 from other manufacturers were short lived, loud and very messy. The Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder is miles ahead when it comes to quality, performance, and price. It's build is solid, it produces a wide range of grindes, and it is quiet. I have had no problem with mess caused by static. It's a breeze to clean. It definitely walks the talk."

Fantastic Machine!

Pros: perfect in all ways
Cons: none
Model Number: 565
"There are no problems with this machine if it is used properly. I use it every day. The timer switch is perfect for getting the same amount of coffee each day. There is only a static problem if you make it so. Just ignore the fact that there is some small residual left on the sides of the container when you dump it after grinding. So what. There is no considerable mess. One swipe with a damp dishrag is all that is required to clean the counter. Had it for over two years, wouldn't have anything else."

Avoidable unit

"After 3 returned units - I have concluded that this product is not worth my time. The burr jams up after the first use - resulting in zero grinds in the second grind go around.
Cleaning the unit is an unbelievably clunky process. Far cheaper cuisinart handles the same beans without much fuss.

Save yourself 1700$ a year!

Pros: solid construction, ease of use, grinds coffee beans consistently
Cons: did not buy sooner, inanimate object-unable to show gratitude
"Yes that is what I spent at Starbucks last year. I'm a proud of it? A resounding no! So now I do French Press and will be investing in a manual drip set-up soon. This grinder will make your coffee taste so much better. I had done French Press in years past with a blade grinder and accepted the results as being the best home coffee could taste. This grinder changed all that.
Some reviews state that the unit wobbles. It doesn't. There is a cut out in the back of the unit for the power cord.
Some reviews state that this unit is not good for expresso. I have not tried this yet. But good expresso is produced with expensive machines. Which require an expensive grinder. For the price of this grinder you get quality results. And yes it is easy to clean. Do get a larger brush though.
The grinds do not fly out of the receiver. Flick the container a couple of times with your fingernail problem solved.
Finally this unit is encased in a metal housing. Built like a tank it is (9lbs shipping weight). You can buy replacement parts should the need ever arise.
Compare the price you find here with others. Remember there are 4 versions of this grinder. This one is made of metal.

best grinder for home use

Pros: grinds evenly & fast
"We are using our second Capresso coffee grinder from Costco. The first one had the burr grinder break, and Costco replaced it without a problem. This unit is messy, as are ALL coffee grinders. Just check out the commercial ones in your local coffee shops. We find that you will have less mess with static electricity if you grind one hopper full, wait 2 minutes and grind the next one. Store the ground coffee in a sealed cannister (like a ceramic one) and it will provide flavorful coffee for several days. I use an air compressor to blow out the burr grinders and other parts of the machine, this is all that is necessary to clean it, along with occasionally washing the plastic parts."

Not for Green Coffee Beans...

Model Number: Vendor ref # 38776
"This machine may be great for most products but not for Green Coffee Beans. I purchased this heavy duty grinder to grind "Green Coffee Beans" that are not roasted and it did not work even on the course grind setting. Now when you read my review you must realize that this machine may be great for most uses but I can attest that it will not work on unroasted coffee beans."

Grind, Drink, Enjoy!

"Coffee lovers, do yourself' a favor and purchase this product. In fact, buy two and give one to a coffee drinker you love! Place a few scopes of beans into the grinder, select the type of grind required, and watch as the beans begin to grind. No, it is not too loud (if you have ever ground your own beans before!).
While your coffee is brewing, you'll notice the aroma fills the kitchen. Fill your cup and after the first taste your heart will fill with joy as this coffee will taste better than ever.
Clean up is easy! Yes, you'll make a great cup of coffee when you use this grinder for your beans."
