Racor Bike Hoist 2-pack
A Costco exclusive, 2-pack PBH-2SB Racor Bike Lift, creates safe, convenient storage space for your bikes with the Bike Hoist from Racor. Space-efficient and easy to operate, the ceiling mounted Bike Hoists are ideal for apartments, garages or anywhere you require additional storage.
Mounted along the edge or the center of the ceiling, the Bike Hoist operates like a set of mini-blinds; attach the hooks to the bike seat and handlebars and pull on the rope to raise and lock the bike in the air. Simply loosen the rope to lower it. If the rope slips, it automatically clinches and stops. The rope can be left hanging freely or wrapped around a cleat mounted to the wall.

Nice storage option

Good product
Pros: good storage solution to increase floor space, components seem to be good quality
Cons: extra rope needs to be wound when bikes are lifted

"These bike hoists worked very well for me. I mounted them to 2x4's and bolted them to the garage roof with lag screws because I was mounting perpendicular to the ceiling joists. The bikes are not super easy to pull up, but with some work, I think they can be lifted by most adults. I had no problems with the size or quality of the rope or the screws provided (used 1/8" pilot drill and screwed them into pine 2x4's). When hoisted, there is so much extra rope so I wound as much on the bracket that was provided as I could, then wound the rest and hung it on the bracket. You can't cut it because it is used to lower the bikes. We have 10.5' ceilings in the garage and the bottom of the bike, when hoisted, is just over my head, so if you have lower ceilings, consider how much head room you will have under the bikes."

Good bike hoist

"Very easy to install, and does the job as advertised. Have 2 bikes now hanging from garage ceiling. One had been hung on large ceiling hooks. Getting too old to lift heavy bike over my head and onto hooks. As the bike hangs from 2 pulleys, with one cord, you sometimes have to play a little to get the pulleys in sync. But, I am very satisfied."

Great Product

"Ordered 2 pairs after reading all the good reviews. The reviews were accurate...this is a great product. Installation instructions were easy and simple to follow. Once installed, it was a breeze pulling the bikes up to the ceiling. One of our bikes is a 50 pound behemoth of a mountain bike...and it went up easily using the pulley system. The rope included was extremely long which gives you different options of where to tie it down. The best part is the built-in locking mechanism that keeps the bike up without putting any stress or pull on the rope. A quick pull to the inside releases the locking mechanism. My petite wife easily brought down the 50 pound bike. Please be advised to wear a glove or release the rope slowly to prevent rope burns. Note: Don't laugh, but the installation itself only took approximately 10 minutes per set. My problem (nothing to do with the hoist system) was taking hours to find a stud up in our high garage ceiling...and I was using a decent stud-finder. We highly recommend this product."

"Would have given it 5 stars, but the supplied mounting screws for the ceiling brackets are too short to get a good bite on the joists through garage sheet rock. On the other hand the screws for the tie-off cleat are far too long. That aside, it is well made, and works as advertised. The rope is long enough for a 15' ceiling and operates smoothly. It is a good value"

"used a 1x4 board between the ceiling and hoist for added strength. I did end up replacing the rope with a different as the original seemed to get caught in the rings. Have never had a problem with them holding my bikes."

"Installed these in my shop with 11 & half ft ceilings. They work perfectly, as I can now walk under both bicycles easily. I plan on trimming/cutting off about 8' of cord without any problems with raising or lowering."

Pros: easy install
"Perfect for getting your bikes up off the garage floor. Sure beats picking them up to hang on hooks. Good quality and easy to install. Line up pulleys with handle bars and seat, screw to ceiling joist and thread rope. You can't beat the price for a set of two. You'll pay this for one, elsewhere."

"Shipped quickly. Works as advertised. You will need longer wood screws than those provided, however. Also, as you lower your bike, don't let the rope run through your hand... instant rope burn!"

"Much better than the old utility hooks. Getting older, getting the bikes down was a hassle. This system makes it quick & easy to raise or lower. However the hooks needed to be modified a little. They were too straight coming out of the box. But other than that, it's great."

Does what it says
"Put it up last weekend, so I don't have long term experience yet, but I'm happy with it. Installation was pretty easy, and the bikes are simple to raise and lower. The only downside so far is the length of cord; I have a high ceiling so I need a lot of the cord to raise the bikes all the way, but then there's a lot sitting on the ground. It's way too much to wrap around the bracket - would take forever to undo it each time.
But overall exactly what I expected."

"Nothing bad to say about this product. The pieces are solid, the price is more than fair and a generous amount of rope. The screws are long enough to go thru sheet rock and into wood but for added strength, I used 5" wood screws. 1 person can install this but 2 would make it go up really fast."

Good but......
"Great product, works as promised but as is typical with many installation manuals these days, it is lacking in enough clear and concise instructions. In particular, the instructions for routing of the nylon rope through the pulleys is very vague which is critical in the smooth operation of the hoist."
