"Unpacked it filled with gas and oil and it would not start. Took it to a Honeywell authorized service center and after two weeks they could not get it to start either. Don't buy."

Not even close to the Honda or Yamaha 1000

"Model 1000
Bought to be used for camping and recharging batteries on RV. This generator is noisy and runs very erratic. In addition it is very sensitive to altitude and would not run over 6000ft, fouled plugs. Returned the item to COSTCO and bought a Honda.

Good Buy

Pros: lightweight ad quiet
Cons: a little small for something other than camping
Model Number: HW1000i
"I bought this to charge my batteries. I tried a sine wave power inverter to charge my lithium ion battery tools, but it wouldn't charge. The power out of this must be cleaner than the aims power inverter. It won't power my RV microwave since it is too small, I would suggest the 2kW version, nor will it power bigger tools like a circular saw, but it puts out the power it said it would. It will run an 8 amp drill or a hair dryer on low heat setting. Quiet and starts every time. Maybe the others didn't use the choke?"

Good price; bad product

"I purchased this generator to provide occasional power to my cabin. My expectation was to use this to power lights and recharge cell phones, etc. I was pretty happy with it for the first few hours of use. It was alittle loud but not bad. It started right up and kept running. Then after about 5 hours of use the fuel line detached from the filter. I put it back on but noticed the clamp and hose seemed pretty flimsy. After another 5 hours or so of use, the generator would only run for 20 minutes before stalling. It would restart after resting for 15 minutes and this cycle would continue with progressively less run time (10 minutes, 5 minutes, 2 minutes, etc) until the generator refused to run at all. I decided to return it to Costco for a refund. Costco is great about this and now I'm in the market for a Yamaha, Honda or other quality product. I'll be avoiding these bargain generators."
