Pros: timer alarm to wake you
"I have had a top of the line early model blue light (SAD) for over 10 yrs. paid $300 then. That one was larger, doesnt travel well but was good. Then I decided I wanted more time at it at work. I saw this. Its totally great! travel pouch. the light is VERY strong , yet smaller. Since you can turn it on at work several times before noon? Its more efficient. You can set an alarm so it wakes you gently. I still re-charge nightly, but its still more portable. great buy and I think effective by someone who has used one for over 10 yrs! Good luck"

Seems to work
Pros: mood & energy seem better than other years
Cons: none that i can think of
"We've had this product only a couple of weeks now and we're using every morning while having breakfast. It feels like our energy is better and overall mood is good. We live in the Pacific Northwest and January - May are difficult months to get through with the short days and lack of sunshine. We'll keep using it!"

Great purchase!

"I've had the goLITE for ~6 years with great performance. I use the lamp 5 days/week, 8 months of the year. I keep it next to my computer at work. It turns on mid-morning for a much needed dose of light. On really dark days, I will even use the light twice.
This light helps dramatically with my SADD. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to add some light to their life."

Recommending this to everyone living in the Pac NW
Pros: highly effective, fast results with consistent use
Cons: instructions for the alarm are hard to understand

"This light has made a huge difference in my life in just the first month of use. I'm going into my third winter in Washington state--the land of the midnight afternoon. The first two winters were so miserable that I thought seriously about moving to Texas just for some sunshine. A doctor recommended light therapy for the winter blues, and I started using this light for 20-25 minutes every morning while I get ready for work. Now, I'm wide awake before I leave the house in the morning, and have energy that lasts past the workday. More importantly, I used to drink up to 3 cups of coffee just to function, but now I'm down to one cup. And I'm only drinking that for the taste--I don't need it!"

Perfect alarm clock
Pros: great as a morning alarm., great for those of us who dont have office windows
Cons: it would be nice if the lights brightened graduall
"I haven't been using it long, but using it as an alarm clock is amazing. Instead of having the jolt in the morning from the alarm, you are able to wake up gently from the light. I set the light to come on about 15 minutes before I have to be awake. Usually I wake up after a few minutes of the light coming on, but when I don't I still have my alarm set. I feel my days are able to go so much smoother when my body is able to wake up on its own terms, rather than experiencing the sudden jolt from alarms to only see that its still dark outside. I recommend it to all believers and skeptics alike, there is literally nothing to lose because if you dont like it after a couple months costco will take it back"

"I was skeptical when I first purchased this Energy Light. I am so glad that I did. I was always so exhausted and had a hard time getting up for work in the morning. After using the Energy Light I am actually falling asleep around 11pm while watching tv with my kids. Before I would be up until 2am. I wake up in the morning and feel so much more rested. This light is so easy to use and comes with a storage sleeve. I keep it at work and use it every morning as soon as I get to work. I can tell when I forget to use the light. So I try not to let that happen. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. It has worked wonders for me!"

"This product takes some time to feel the effects but it's worth it.
I live where there isn't an abundance of sunny days and it has provided a benefit to me.

"I have had SAD for 15 yrs. Since moving from AZ to WA state. I use to own the HUGE light box that took up the whole desk and was very heavy, not to mention the bulbs, 25.00 ea x 3. This light worked for me from day one. I made sure to follow the directions. the light has to be close enough to the eyes and at a bit of an angle. and dont use it longer than recommended. start out with 5 to 10 min per day and work up to 15 to 20. My mood was so much better with in a few days. I use mine daily during the winter. dont use it too late in the day or you many have trouble falling asleep. I give this product 5 stars!!! thank you Costo for the great product!"

Not for people who have had cataract surgery
"I was really excited by this little Energy Light. I have SADs and I had hoped that it would help me. After I received the item, I read the enclosed information completely. It stated that it should not be used by people who have had cataract surgery. I thought that I would try it anyway. After the 15 minutes at half power, nothing was in focus. I couldn't read, I couldn't watch TV, I couldn't see well enough to drive. Fortunately, my vision returned within a few hours, and I returned the unit to my local Costco, where they were very friendly and quick to refund my money, including shipping charges."

"Small, portable, and very convenient "energy light" (often used by people with SAD like myself when there is little sunlight -- i.e. our Michigan winter). Item is compact, nicely engineered with a magnetic prop for a stand which fits into the back of the light when not in use (so it won't get misplaced and will always be with the light). Unit has timer as well as alarm reminder feature. . Also comes with a nice faux leather carrying/storage case. The light works well and is VERY BRIGHT. Shipping was also very quick. You really can't ask for more :)"

"My wife really was happy with this light, unfortunately we had to return it because the battery would not charge at all.
One of its best features is its very compact size. It's easy to take to work. If the battery works you don't have to worry about hauling a cord around."

"I have used this 6 days now..in the morning for 15 minutes and at half intensity......I noticed the first day I had more energy and found myself singing along with the radio and actually laughing in conversations with co workers :) Has had a remarkable effect on me so far.......the first two days I had a slight headache but I think it was because I looked at settings, etc AFTER I turned the lite on. Be careful and do not look directly into the lite when it is on (as instructions do state)"

"I had some doubts about a light changing my feelings during the winter months. So far I have only been using it for a week and I already feel better. I use it at breakfast every morning, even if the sun is coming in the window. I make it thru the day without feeling tired, and my outlook seems more positive. Perhaps if you believe it works, it works."

Don't Bother
"I purchased this last year to help with my SADD and lack of energy during winter months. I used it as directed multiple times a day for over a week and ended up taking it back to Costco because it did nothing to help and the brightness of the light actually bothered my eyes. Personally I did not get any positive results from using this product. I wish I had."

Blu light energy
"Its not as annoying as the white light therapy one I bought years ago. This one is all digital and has 4 or 5 different settings of brightness. Its also small about 6 in. It has a rechargeable battery and a cool travel case.
To be honest I havent had the New Blu light for very long. So I cant really tell how well its working yet."

Just doesn't wok
Cons: long time duration of therapy, really bright light (hurts your eyes)
"I have been suffering from some form of "Seasonal Effective Disorder"...and I HAVE FOUND, that light therapy (the kind you can get from soe tanning beds) really does work to help my mood be much better. The 'Blu Light' just doesn't have the power to really do much of anything. I found that it didn't matter how long, or how bright I had the light...nothing happened. For those who did find relief in thiss product, I'm glad for them....but for me...I wouldn't but it again.!!"

Battery on this one works great -- had it unplugged for two hours of use and it still reflects a 3/4 charge. Good enough for me.
Instructions were fine, the touch screen changes everything you need. Had to open the instructions "quick start" to figure out how to change the time (Push and hold the timer and alarm at the same time for 2 sec)"

Complete gamble with mine
Pros: led output is very good, solid build
Cons: battery life, random chance of working or not

"I've owned it now for three months and have issues with the battery holding a charge and some very odd error. Randomly it will not power on even after just removing it from the wall where the indicator showed the battery being full. I go to work with it and a third of the time it will not power on. I occasionally get a 02 007 or something across the screen and then it goes blank. Reset button does absolutely nothing. Plugging it back into the wall for a second "fixes" it until it decides to play the game again.
While writing this I had it going went through one session of 15minutes and issue above has happened again."

Not sure it does anything
Pros: blue light is pleasant.
Cons: expensive, doesn't really work
"Bought this light after reading all the rave reviews. After 10 days of faithful use for 30 minutes a day I can't say I notice anything different. I am disappointed the light does not measure up to the hype.
Definitely a try-and-see device. Make sure you buy it where you can return it easily."
