THRIVE™ Shortening Powder is an excellent baking solution! When shortening is used in place of butter, your baked goods will have a longer shelf life.

I'm trying to be prepared
Pros: this product was shipped directly tot my home., i ordered online and received it free in 3 days
Cons: i wish they came in smaller cans., i wish it came in single serve packets to feed 4
"After watching the storm of Sandy hitting the East coast I want to have something that will help feed my family and some neighbors. This product gives me the ability to make pancakes and other items to tied us over when the power is out for many days. Heat up the portable BBQ and we will have some great desserts adn pancakes. Yummy"

Food Storage many companies
Pros: always on hand and ready for use, no going to the store cause "your out of", emergencies?? never know..
"I purchase this for part of a friends weddng per her request of some food storage. I personally haven't tried, so that's why I give it 3 stars. If purchasing for Food Storage, remember, "Dairy" especially does not have a long shelf life once opened. Use with 1 year upon opening refrigerated. Also rotate your storage,use a sharpie & write the date of Expiration: 5-7 yrs and date on mgfd, it is the juilian calander date on most cans, or call the company when made. Even canned dairy has approx 5-7 yr life. So use it or lose it.1 can of eggs=80-90 eggs!!! (depending level or heaping tbl you use)"

In a word...AMAZING!
Pros: quality product on hand when you need it.
"I do hot have enough room here to really say how fabulous this is! The price cannot be beat even if you get it directly from Shelf Reliance. I have always been worried about having to use powdered milk, but this instant milk is the closest to the real thing that I have ever tasted. I mixed up a gallon, let it sit in the fridge for 2 days and my kids couldn't tell which was store bought and which was the Thrive. I even had them do a side by side taste test and they still couldn't tell. It really brings peace of mind to have this on hand!"

Tired of reviewers who have not tried the product!
"The instant milk (note this is NOT powdered milk - it's INSTANT) is absolutely fantastic. Made some and put it in the old milk carton and the kids COULD NOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE!! It has cut our milk bill substantially as we never throw out unused milk anymore. The butter rehydrates to a soft state like the tub margarine, with a GREAT flavor--suggest add a few drops of grapeseed oil to perfect the consistency. The eggs are awesome alone or in baking products and my eggs stayed fresh longer than the can stated. USE these products, ROTATE them, and ENJOY them as well as saving them for later!! You won't regret it and you'll save money and trips to the store!"

Only One Regret!
"Having been "preppers" for about two years, we have used "survival" type long-term storage products from a number of suppliers. The quality of the THRIVE product line is unsurpassed and in a number of categories exceeds the quality and nutriional integrity of other brands.
Our only regret is that there isn't a more complete line of products available through Costco.com. Their purchasing agents need to recognize the growing demand in this maket arena."

"Hard to review because we don't intend to use this for everyday. With all the weather changes & storms in our area it's best to be prepared & we can't predict just how bad the economy will get so it's better to be prepared than sorry.
We checked every can for dents before putting it back in the carton to store. Other cans in our order came dented even before packing. Costco is absolutely great at getting that taken care of."

Love to Cook with Shelf Reliance

"I love the eggs! They are the best! And the milk is the perfect addition to smoothies.
And I found out that if anyone's cans arrive dented, call Shelf Reliance. If the seal is in question they will usually replace the product for you. They want to you to be a happy customer as well :)"

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience so far. I, too, have not tasted many of the products but tried the Sample Pack that they started to sell a couple of weeks ago. The food is just as described and tasted like fresh product. Don't expect the food to look like the pictures on the cans or packets but they will, without a doubt be 10 times better than Government bread and cheese!!
Do what's best for you and your family, get ahead of the game and get ready for very high inflation; that means very high food costs!!

Cans arrived very damaged
Cons: damaged tins
"Although I am happy with the product itself, the #10 tins arrived damaged with major dents in the tops and sides. Almost looks like they were stepped on. Could blame shipping, except the outer boxes were perfectly intact. Very disappointed and afraid my product will spoil and not last the promised 10-25 years for fear of air leaks in the cans."

"I purchased (2) sets of the Baking Essentials. Haven't used it yet so I can't vouch for the product. But the Thrive product line is top-draw. Already have over 130 cans of their products. The future is very uncertain now and I am preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best."
