First Try Not Good - Fly wheel issue

Pros: seems very solid
Cons: is not working out of the box
Model Number: MB880
"I had high expectations for this spinner… Ordered this on COSTCO.com and it got delivered 4 days later, great so far.
It is very heavy and the frame comes assembled with the flywheel already inserted into it..
I just now put it together and start turning the pedals. I can hear slight “whump”, “whump” with each of my pedal strokes.. Sounds like a tire that’s out of balance.. right..?
So I get down and turn the pedals by hand… And sure enough that’s what it is… and I can literally see where the big flywheel actually slightly rises..
What happens is …when the high part of the flywheel hits the pad, its gets tight and then gets loose for the rest of the stroke.
I tried to see if this would maybe go away… but no.. its every single stroke.. Somehow the fly wheel did not get assembled dead center on.
You can feel your pedal strokes go easy half way and then tight… loose then tight, then loose then tight….at this point it is un useable and I’m very sad… I really wanted this to work out…!
I don’t know what to do yet.. I’ll call Xterra in the morning and see what they say… if they fix it, and or make it right, I’ll adjust this review, if not I’ll have to return it."

Highly Reccommended

Pros: solid, smooth and quiet operation, heart rate monitor works well
Cons: none
Model Number: MB 880
"Delivery in less than a week was faster than I expected. Solid high quality stationary bike. The welds are evidence of the care put into manufacturing. Very smooth and very quite operation. I am tall and originally found the handlebars to be too low even in the max up position. However, you can remove a set screw and raise the handlebars considerably. Now I am very comfortable."

Terrible

"It worked for about 3 weeks and then the ability to change the tension went away. I am in the process of returning."

Solid

"This is a solid exercise bike. The computer is a little difficult to setup at first, and may have a few to many functions; however a very nice addition."

Great cycle trainer--solid as a rock!

Pros: solid as a rock, quiet, great work out
Cons: heavy
Model Number: MB880
"I recently had knee surgery and decided to get a cycle trainer for rehab (no more running). The MB880 is a solid bike trainer. Very smooth and also very quiet. I'm big, and this bike is solid as a rock. It's also heavy. Well built.
Assembly was easy--hardest part was lifting it into the house. Have not tried the heart monitor yet. Speed and and timing device work fine."

Nice Spinning Bike

Pros: nice smooth quiet ride
Cons: very poorly packaged
Model Number: Xterra MB880
"Nice sturdy bike is just as advertised
Computer & heart strap are unusual and a nice benefit in this price group. Easy to put together and very quiet operation. The seat is a normal bike seat and no more or less comfortable than any other. Not sure other than riding inexperience the other comments about it. The packing is lame and theframe was damaged in several places. Took extra effort to straighten and put together. Protected by styrofoam and is too heavy for such if dropped during shipment which is a given considering the weight and awkwardness of the box. D- for this but my only negative comment so far. Price was exceptional in comparsion
