Best purchase

"This labeler is very good. Easy to follow instructions. I also like that it offers two fonts. I especially like that I can make two lines of Text. You can also preview the text before printing. It can also print in three sizes. This was an excellent purchase."

Oh, Brother..
Pros: runs on tz tapes -- the best, versatile parameters for setup, impressive "deco mode" extras, simple convenient and reliable
Cons: doesn't come with an ac adapter~!

"It IS a Brother, and prints the 'TZ' tapes -- and there are a LOAD of special effects built into the thing -- so overall I have been extremely impressed with it at this price point. The TZ tapes are not cheap -- but they are GOOD~!
This machine isn't frugal with the tape, but it's a GOOD place to start, and may be all you ever need. I work in the trades, and the TZ labels are a must -- this was a quick/cheap/adequate answer to labeling that was a must.. And I'm glad I got it. I've even loaned it to my father for his hobby-shop labeling.
And he was impressed enough to buy one, too~"

Poorly designed - Does the job, but wastes tape!

"I got a good deal on this label maker and now I know why.... you will spend all your money on tape! It appears to do a good job in creating the label, however, it wastes about an inch of label on either side of the print-out. To type a 4-character label, you get a 3 inch piece of tape. So to do something small, like a label for a file, you'll have to do manual trimming yourself. I've used a friend's Dymo and didn't have this issue.
**Note: While there is a function to adjust the label length, it only removes MAYBE 1/4 of the waste, shrinks the text size by 50%, and creates an off-centered text (which really isn't an issue, because you'll have to manually trim it anyway)"
