Good looking bookcase
Pros: solid, good looking
Cons: directions could be a lot clearer, a little shinier than i would like

"This is a very solid and good-looking bookcase (for factory furniture -- will not fool anyone into thinking it was built by a hippie craftsman). I just ordered my second one. Much more solid quality than a lot of assemble-it-yourself furniture. Every surface you look at is genuine wood (albeit the wood veneer is 1/16" thick). Two criticisms: as the other reviewer noted the directions could be more clear. If you've done other flat-pack furniture before you should have no problem, but if this is your first flat-pack piece I do NOT recommend it as a starting point. Also the finish is very high-gloss urethane, so while everything you see is wood, it does look almost like it were plastic."

"I am very disappointed with this bookcase. It's a piece of cheap junk. I had to hire someone to put it together and he had trouble because the instructions were incomplete. I would have saved money and all the trouble by going to a furniture store or someplace like office depot. I love Costco, but this was my worst purchase from there ever."
