You get what you pay for...
Pros: very inexpensive, plenty of activities
Cons: poor interface, difficult to install, have to register online before use
"Second set of Jump Start software we've tried. This one is actually worse than the preschool one. But, it didn't cost that much and it's usable for a 4 year old, so I won't take it back. You'll have to take the time to teach your child to understand the interface as it's not intuitive at all. Kids do seem to like it and the activities are good once they manage to get to them. You do not have to pay to use the online stuff right away, but based on what I've experienced so far there is NO WAY I'd ever pay a dime to upgrade to the online membership/expansion packs."

good but with reservations
"My kids love playing the games, although I have not sat down and done a through analysis of the content of each program. The program does not interface with Windows so there is a lot a lag time moving in and out of it. I also don' t like products that try and sell you extended contracts to keep updates and get more games. The price was cheap so I didn't expect much. My logic is that anything that keeps them learning and away from TV and brainless toys is a good thing."

Decent

"Decent product(kindergarten) for the price but not great(kinda basic).
My daughter(4yo) loves it though. She can easily sit for over an hour by herself playing it. It has especially helped her to learn mouse and keyboard skills.
She has already reached the level limit on many of the games.
Debating about whether to completely un-install it and have her start all over again, pay the money to let her continue to more levels, or just buy the next game(1st grade).
It was easy for me to install on a Windows 7 machine. Probably some security settings that some people are having problems with the install on.
I do not like the 800x600 graphics resolution that it uses and then leaves your monitor on when you exit."

a bit dissapointed
Pros: cheap
Cons: long install time, very basic, promo for online version

"I am a huge fan of Costco and their items. This is about the first purchase I have made over the years that was dissappointing. First, the install took awhile. Next, the product seems to be just a selling point for the online version, I know I can't expect much for the price. However, I did expect a better application. My son, who is 4, played it for about an hour. He hasn't asked to play it again. It's pretty basic. I will be returning the disc. Sorry, we tried, it just wasn't for us."

Son loves it
"My son is in Kindergarten & found this very fun. Unfortunately I couldn't sit with him to explain it all since I have 2 younger kids as well. I came back in the room and he was navigating himself all over the place showing me the various activities and stuff. Kids amaze me! As for the installation...This disc installed very easily for me but it was my 2nd version. I purchased the preschool one first and that one took me an hour & jumpstart customer service to get it up and running. If you have the patience to sit through the first installation, the rest is a breeze."
