""Thank you" Costco for bringing Almost Heaven Saunas to us. "Thank you" Almost Heaven for an outstanding product in every way. Another reviewer said it was the best purchase she ever made. I have to echo that sentiment. Assembly was well thought out and went smoothly. For us as seniors, two people were necessary for placing of the front and rear panels. Not a problem for us. As others have said, get yourself a good electrician with some knowledge of Saunas. This 5 foot barrel Sauna easily fits two with a generous amount of space. For me, this Sauna is a dream come true. I am already seeing health benefits; both physical and mental. Would I buy another Sauna from Almost Heaven? Without a moment's hesitation."

Amazing product
"I really love this sauna. The construction is top-notch. Assembly was a breeze. They really put a lot of energy into making everything perfect - with every cut and measurement for a reason. I put the entire thing together by myself too. I love this thing so much.
As an aside, before I got this sauna, we rarely used our pool because it was simply too cold. But now that I've found this affordable and great sauna, I'm able to use the pool every day (once my core temperature has heated up a bit the cold water feels great!).
One thing to note: there is no switch by default for the light. You (or your electrician) will need to wire this separately as it uses 120V instead of the 240V that the heater uses (and they recommend that it's put on a separarate circuit). I drilled a 1 1/4" hole through the back of the sauna and mounted an outdoor all=weather switch plate so that the switch lever is accessible through the hole. So I can control the switch from inside the sauna. No doubt your electrician will think of something, but just sharing my solution.
All in all, a really great and super high quality product!"

Awesome sauna - High Quality!
Pros: looks amazing, easy assembly, heats-up quickly
Cons: requires an electrician to run a 240v circuit, a separate 110v circuit for light is required, making it rain-proof is a bit of a challenge

"Before I make a major online purchase, I thoroughly (obsessively?) research the alternatives. In this case, I studied various sauna technologies and evaluated the reviews of many vendors. In the end, I chose Costco's 4-person, 5' Barrel Sauna. It arrived to my home in Lake Tahoe approximately 2 weeks after the order was placed (much sooner than I expected.)
The freight company they used was courteous. Although you are only promised curbside delivery, the driver offered to help me schlep the components (625 pounds!) down a hill alongside my home. I declined his offer, but it was noted and appreciated!
Assembly was straightforward. Having my wife help hold things at key points was critical - make sure you have a helper. Along the way, I had a few questions and corresponded with the manufacturer. Rick responded promptly with good info that answered my concerns.
Even with a lower-wattage bulb in the light-fixture, you may want to consider installing a dimmer on the light switch if ambiance is important to you.
We've used the sauna several times in the past few weeks and it has performed flawlessly! We are looking forward to ski season and using it when there many feet of snow on the ground."

Fabulous Addition - Use Much More Than Expected
Pros: quality, appearance, health and satisfaction

"This is a GREAT product. Went together easily as advertised. Happily using it many times weekly and continue to do so 18 months later, long after the novelty has worn off. A lovely way to end the day. Be sure to plan the electrical part of the installation carefully, as that takes more time and planning than the physical installation and assembly. I also discovered a skin reaction to cedar which it turns out many people react to similarly to poison oak. Problem easily solved as I simply put a layer of fir strips on top of one bench and built fir backrests (the reaction is contact only). If you're contemplating a sauna - this is the way to go. STEAM BEATS IR! You can't get steam in an infrared and trust me steam, wet heat is the way to go! No hesitations in recommending the product, the practice and the company.

Best Purchase Ever

"we just purchased your sauna, and once mud season and road restrictions were lifted, the sixteen wheeler came down our sand road in NH. Two of us watched the video , read the instructions, and started in the next morning. I don't know who does your packaging, but the whole experience was amazing, right down to the staple on the pack of nails that keeps them from sticking through and getting loose and lost. Amazing. We felt like putting on your video music as we assembled the pieces. We started the assembly at 930am, and had the sauna ready for electrics by 1pm. amazing. so after a trip to the local Home Depot, we had the heater hooked up and trial running by 5pm! The real inauguration was a day later, when my husband and I donned our robes, took contacts out, and of course, too impatient to wait, went in as it was about 3/4 heated. gave us a little more time to bask. (using the ladle and bucket - so esthetic).
The electrician who has his business on Cape Cod, thinks the people he works with will go nuts over it, another contractor basically said the same. Once you've seen and touched the finished product, it puts you in awe of the care and thoroughness that went into preparing the kit.
We can't say enough about the product."

Couldn't be happier

"First off, the sauna arrived in a timely manner. Someone from Almost Heaven called me a couple of days before it arrived so I could prepare accordingly. She also gave me Daryl's phone number if I had any problems with assembly.
Assembly was quite simple and straight-forward. I had a friend helping and it took about three hours (in 15-degree temperatures). The hardest part was finding the best position. Eventually, we found a spot that gives us easy access to snow (for snow-rolls) and a view of the sunset over the mountains.
The electrician made a couple mistakes (used a GCFI breaker when instructions said not to; switched the 220v and 110v lines to the sauna) which caused some interesting problems, but Daryl's debugging advice let to quick resolutions.
Once the sauna was properly wired, using it was a breeze. In +4F temperatures, it reached 194F in about 25 minutes. The heater is incredibly efficient. We use the sauna four or five times a week and our electric bill went up a mere $15.
Daryl quickly responded to all of my queries about setup and usage. I couldn't have asked for a better overall experience."

"I installed mine in a finished basement. Took about 2 hours with a friend to put together and another 1.5 hours for the electrician to run the electrical and install a plug (vice hardwiring). I love using the sauna and it's very relaxing after a hard day at work. Thoroughly read the instructions twice and you should have no problems putting together. Got great customer service by both phone and email when I contacted Almost Heaven with questions before my purchase. It's a beautiful addition to my home."

"Rick and Almost Heaven Saunas exceeded expectations in many regards when I ordered my first sauna in 2010. As part of a Costco promotion, I received a great value with lots of extras. The heater and sauna were delivered to a difficult location in the Sierra mountains, and there were some minor logisitical issues which Rick overcame by becoming personally involved, providing excellent communication at every step of the process. Our family loved the sauna so much that we purchased another for our primary home in Northern California about a year later. Rick provided great customer service again! There were a few challenges which were dealt with immediately by Rick & Almost Heaven. They were resolved gracefully and professionally. I would recommend Rick and his company to anyone in the market for a sauna."

"Recieved the sauna paclaged on a skid in (3) boxes, trucker dropped it off..Took it to the cabin 4 hours north to assembly. Missing the heater!! the back panels, floor boards and a couple of other pieces..I will contact them now to see what to do,,, but i can not use it yet.."

"We received our 4-person barrel sauna and eagerly got to work and putting it together. It was easy to construct and looks as beautiful in our yard as the photos on the website. Instructions were easy to follow and the video was a nice supplement.

Great Purchase
"We purchased an Almost Heaven sauna through Costco. The kit was delivered on time and efficiently, the materials were complete and in good condition, the instructions clear. It assembled quite easily and pretty much as shown in the video provided. Had an issue with the heater which was corrected by the manufacturer and Almost Heaven in the most efficient manner. You tell more about a company when something needs attention and Almost Heaven personnel were extremely helpful and pleasant; eager to make my experience with them an enjoyable one.
The sauna, I am happy to report, works beautifully...having been enjoyed by my family several times in just a week."

"Our 4-person Barrel Sauna went together quickly and perfectly - a very nice, well-packaged and high quality product. (I think my neighbor is going to order one now.) Our sauna use was briefly delayed because the heater unit had a faulty thermostat. I spoke to a manufacturer tech rep who diagnosed the problem and delivered a new one overnight (at no-charge). I replaced it myself in 15 minutes without problems and the sauna is now in use and it is wonderful. Plenty of room for 2, it's really awesome! No regrets whatsoever!"

Fabulous Sauna

"If you don't want to go to the spa, bring the spa to you. I was too excited wait for my husband's help, so I started building the sauna without him. I thought I'd just do a little bit, but ended up assembling the entire sauna. I'm 5'3" 115 lbs. I've bought benches that were harder to put together.
It's a beautiful unit, just as described. The wood is fine quality and all the components fit perfectly together. Almost Heaven provided excellent phone support for electrical questions regarding power hook-up and specifications. None of the 6-7 electricians I spoke with had ever hooked up a sauna (they all assumed it was a hot tub) and they were concerned about the non-GFCI requirement in the sauna spec. I advise you find an electrician familiar with saunas and save yourself this particular headache. A+++ product."

"I totally agree with the other reviews concerning quality of sauna and ability to assemble the sauna. In addition, the company was very responsive to problems with the product. My heater did not work at the time of installation and within 5 days I had the new part without any cost or hesitation from the seller. I am now a proud owner of a beautiful working sauna. Highly recommend the product and the company."
