Fails after 1 year! Bad reviews are true!

Pros: looks nice
Cons: fails after 1 year, vendor does not stand behind product
Model Number: 277017003
"First time I've returned something (other than a shirt) in 15 years of going to costco. As told by other reviews, cooling fails at about 14 months. Called Wine Enthusiast and asked for help with the repair, referring them to all the other reviews with the same problem. They said no way, it was after 12 months. I explained that even if I pay to fix it, if its a design issue it will fail again, please be reasonable and stand behind your product. Even though customer satisfaction is written all over the web site, it isn't true. If it was wear n tear, or I did something, I have no problem fixing it. But this is not the case. I will never buy a wine enthusiast product again. This unit is basically a compressor, relay and cooling coils. It should last at least as long as a refrigerator."

Thanks for Costco Return policy

Cons: does not last under very good conditions
"I have had this unit for 14 months and it died on me. It was stored in a temperature controlled office that did not vary in ambient temperature by plus minus 5 degrees from 72. I did not take advice from the previous reviews when I made the purchase. I have contacted Wine Enthusiast and they have informed me that the unit for sale now is newer and does not have the same percentage of returns as the previous model that I purchased. Thankfully Costco is great and they are having the same delivery company white glove remove the defective unit as I order a new one. If you do not mind the possibility of having to return this product every year then the price is right."

Should have listened

Pros: it was nice while it lasted!
Cons: it ran a lot and was always loud
Model Number: 273 01 70
"I bought this cellar a little over a year ago. The first cellar was defective, but in true Costco fashion, it was replaced immediately (thanks, Costco). Now, 15 months later, my cellar is no longer cooling, and I am having trouble finding an authorized repair service from Wine Enthusiast. I am very sorry I spent this much money when so many reviews were less than positive, but it was in my budget and fit the space perfectly. We always thinks we will be the one that gets the perfect "thing"!"

Great Investment!!

Pros: very quiet not noise at all., nice looking sleek and attractive, was not surprised that it couldn't hold 170, great buy for the money hands down!!
Cons: extended warrenty was not available thru costco
Model Number: N'FINITY 170
""We bought this wine cellar to protect our recent purchase of wine from Napa Valley and Amador County. Living in Nevada, we needed a wine fridge that would fit in our kitchen and add to the contemporary look of the kitchen, and most importantly protect the wine from the heat. I heard that this unit is very noise from other sites. NOT TRUE...quieter than our refrigerator. (I guess it really depends on where your cooler is being placed on, we have it on tile).
The unit arrived within 3 weeks, white gloves service which was great. The look, feel, and temperature controls are good. This unit does not hold 170 bottles of our wine because of different varietals. No one is going to buy the same varietal, same size. If you owned a bar or catering business you probably could hold closer to 170...Ours hold 143 bottles which we are very happy about. Might have to buy another one soon or have more dinners with friends. You can always call Wine Enthusiast toll free number and talk to a rep. If you want this unit to last, buy the carbon filters for this unit, they are about $35 bucks and worth every penny if you live in the desert.

Regret purchasing. Poor Quality.

Pros: nice looking
Cons: unreliable, poor quality
"Spent a lot of time researching wine cellars before deciding on the 170 bottle N'FINITY cellar. Big mistake! First unit I received never worked. Second unit lasted about a year and 3 months before breaking down. Wood shelves look nice but the slats aren't always straight which reduces capacity. Temperature fluctuated in excess of five degrees...which is more than the "near constant" temperature recommended when storing wine. "Real world" capacity is not 170 bottles. My max is in the 140-145 bottle range and I have none of the larger pinot or chardonnay bottles that would otherwise have taken up more space. My advice is to look elsewhere."

Good Invenstment

Pros: aesthetics, delivery
Cons: can't fit 170 bottles of different sizes
"We bought the wine cellar to protect our recent purchase of wine from Carmel Valley's Parsonage Village Vineyard and Winery. Living in Phoenix, we needed a wine fridge that would fit in our kitchen and add to the contemporary culinary look of the kitchen, and most importantly protect the wine from the heat. My wife won't let me keep the A/C at 60 degrees :)
The unit arrived within a week, which was great. My wife and I love everything about it. The look, feel, and temperature controls are good. As some of the others said, you can't fit 170 different bottle sizes in the fridge. Then again, if you have 170 bottles of wine, you are probably enjoying life :)

Good value

Pros: good value
Cons: capacity really overstated
"Be patient, I had to wait the full 4 weeks for delivery. Delivery and set up was good. Have a real problem with description of 170 bottles. I was able to get about 135 in unit. I have a lot of Austrailian shirazes which are taller than most bottles so take this into account when buying. Holds temperture well. With delivery included value was good."

Disappointing capacity

"The specifications say the shelves will hold 11 bottles. I am only able to fit 8 bottles per shelf, thus reducing the capacity to approximately 125 bottles.
The white glove delivery service worked well. They were able to accommodate my schedule. They brought the unit down 15 steps."

Shelf Spacing Inadequate

Pros: style
Cons: weak shelves, inadequate shelf spacing
"While I didn't expect to get anywhere near 170 bottles inside, I was surprised at how tight the spacing is between shelves. Because most bottles are in fact "not standard", you are constantly having to hold the adjacent shelves in while pulling out the one you want - all while destroying the labels on your wine. The only way to store bottles is to remove every other shelf -hardly practical. Additionally, even though I have far fewer than 11 bottles per shelf (that's all I could fit), the shelves themselves are starting to sag under the weight - only exacerbating the spacing problem. Forget about storing any large format bottles. I thought the unit was quiet enough, but the LED lighting serves no practical purpose - it's far too dim to provide enough light to see by. I think the styling is nice, but a stainless steel door would "lighten" the impression of this black unit. I am returning it after 6 months of use."

So far, I like it.

Pros: quality appears quite good., not nearly as noisy as some reviewers report.
Cons: temperature rises quickly when door is open., outside of unit on both sides gets hot at times
Model Number: N'Finity 170
"My N'Finity 170 was delivered a couple of days ago and I waited the suggested 24 hours before plugging it in. The white glove delivery went very smoothly and the two delivery guys were very careful to place it exactly where I wanted it and without banging a wall or scratching the product. After turning it on, it took about 1/2 hour to reach proper temperature and then I started to load my collection into the unit. A couple of observations: the temperature rises very quickly when the door is open, even for just a few seconds. Second, it really isn't as noisy as some reviewers had stated. It's no worse than the expensive refrigerator we have in the kitchen, The little noise it does make is not and I don't think will be an annoyance even in the relatively quiet home office where I had it placed.
I don't know how many bottles it will actually hold, since I have quite a few bottles of pinot noir which are quite a bit larger than the typical bordeaux or cabernet bottle. It looks like upwards of 130 to 140 bottles of my collection will fit, but we'll see. The shelves operate smoothly and look very nice. I would caution that you need to be careful with bottles placed all the way to either side as there really isn't anything to keep them from falling off the side when you are moving bottles around on that shelf.
I have noticed that the unit radiates a fair amount of heat when the compressor is working. It is actually hot to the touch on the outside of the unit on both sides for a while.
When you have the door open for 45 seconds or so, the unit emits a high-pitched tone that I hope is there to warn you that you may have inadvertently left the door ajar. It goes away in about 10 seconds or so after closing the door.
Just to be on the safe side, I plan to buy an extended warranty on this product. It appears the only place to buy it is at Wine Enthusiast, because Costco makes no mention of it. I've had a couple of previous wine coolers die on me after the warranty expired."

Very good for the money

Pros: not noisy as some claim.
Model Number: N'FINITY 170-bottle
"Pro: Very modern with little blue led lights that gives it another world feeling. Wines seem to enjoy the comfort of being cooled at the proper temperatures. The trucking company did a great job of setting the unit up and reminding me not to plug the unit in for 48 hours. After two weeks we're very satisfied with the purchase and feel we got our monies worth.
Con: You have to look at the directions very carefully to see how to lay the bottles down in the unit. I'm getting a frosting on the outer glass, so have to wipe it off every now and then. Perhaps it's due to our high humidity right now.

Good Buy

Pros: compact design fits nicely anywhere
Cons: doesn't rack a case across
Model Number: N'FINITY 170-bottle
"I still think the N'Finity 170 was a good purchase even though the shelves are tight for a case and larger Pinto bottles are very snug. That being said, on a per bottle storage basis, this was the best buy and Costco pricing was the best I could find by a large margin. The cabinet is compact and fits nicely anywhere."

Too noisy

"Love the look of the cabinet, but shelves are very tight and it is very noisy! Unfortunately, returning the item. May work better if built in to walls."

Beautiful storage for Rhone

Pros: extremely sleek attractive unit, cools very well., controls are easy to use, door seals well
Cons: shelves are too narrow for many bottle shapes
Model Number: N'Finity 170
"This unit is sleek and modern looking, cools extremely well and seems to hold the temperature. Have not yet paid attention to the degree of fluctuation but overall works well. My main issue with the unit is that it is extremely tight if you try storing Rhone Ranger or Pinot Noir bottles, I mean really tight, sometimes I am unable to pull shelves out due to it sticking to shelf above. Unfortunately most of my wines are these larger bottles so I have had to be inventive(on how I stack the bottles."

Buyer Beware

Pros: nice look.
Cons: misleading on capacity.
Model Number: N'Finity 170
"I picked "recommend to a friend" but only if two points are taken into consideration. It will NOT hold 170 bottles of wine. It is too bad they didn't add 1 1/2 inches to the width and depth so it would hold what they say. Plan on 140 to 150 max capacity it you have as assortment of wines in different bottle designs.
It is also pretty noisy so consider where you are going to have it placed before ordering. If it is an area where you are going to be watching TV or dining then better go with something else.
