Good bang for the buck
Pros: price, durable

"We bought this unit to have on hand for outdoor usage and for minor power outages. Using a 115 amp hour deep cycle marine battery, the unit has been tested with the following individual items:
A coffee maker (~900 watts).
A LCD-LED TV and cable box.
A AA/AAA battery charger.
A laptop computer.
A 200 watt floor fan and two 7 watt CFLs. (Ran the items simultaneously and continuously for nearly 4 hours before the unit stopped due to low battery detection.)
A 1 HP shop vacuum. (Be aware of the startup load requirements with vacuum cleaners.)
The only con is the wattage display on the unit is inaccurate. We've found through testing and verification with a Kill-A-Watt meter that the reported wattage is much lower than the actual use. Be certain to use the device's manufacturer specifications for calculating load and run time. If the display were correct, I would have given this unit five stars."

"I purchased this to power an 8 amp shop vaccum. 8x110=880 watts. It shut down instantly. As advertised this unit should have enough wattage to power the device, not so. It did power a 1.5 amp sander but that was just to test it. This thing has been over rated for wattage. it's probably more like 500 to 600 watts. Not 1100 by any means. Probably ok for half the rating, but as for me, it's a throwback for sure."

Decent price but power cables R useless
Cons: cables too short

"When my inverter arrived it came with no 6 gauge power cables as advertised. After emailing Costco customer service I did receive cables. They were 4AWG instead of the advertised 6AWG. No real problem with that since 4 is heavier duty than 6. The issue is they are way too short to be of any use. They need to be a minimum of 6 feet long to reach inside a vehicle. In order to use the inverter with the cables provided I will have to install the inverter under the hood(who has room under the hood the days?) then open the hood to turn the inverter on/off. And use extension cords to plug anything in. The inverter should have come with cables long enough so it may be mounted inside a vehicle so the on/off switch can be used, and so extension cords are not required. The digital display is of little use if it is out of sight under the hood.
Other than the cable issue the inverter seems to be of fair quality, certainly comeasurant with the price. I would love a longer cable from the manufacturer but will likely end up buying cables elsewhere to make it function as it should. I guess there are some vehicles out there with the battery installed on the firewall instead of the normal location: by the radiator all the way up front!"

Great inverter - too powerful for cig lighter!
Pros: price and quality
Cons: none whatsoever
"This inverter is excellent. It runs like a champ and lasts a long time. They even throw in some cables for it.
To the OP, jbenny, the wattage output is wayyyy too high for a cigarette lighter. You need something like a 150W inverter, max, for a cig lighter. So if anyone is thinking about getting this inverter, go for it. It's great."

Keeping it anyway
Pros: high wattage output for the size
Cons: has to hook up to battery postsand special batter
"I found out after it arrived that it needs to connect directly to the posts on a battery.I assumed it could conviently hook up to a cigarette lighter but not so.
Also the recomendations are that it be hooked up to a deep cycle battery like a golf cart or marine battery.
However because the output ratting is so high I've decided to keep it and have it ready on my travel trips."

Best Inverter money can buy
Pros: powers many thing with a long extension cord., volt and watt meter show you what your using, small load when not in use, out performers others in the same price range
Cons: plug location.
