Don't bother

Cons: doesn't do frozen fruit
"I bought this blender because I couldn't justify the cost of a vitamix. I needed a blender to make frozen smoothies and thought this would be good enough for that. First thing i did when I got it home was read the manual. It says if you want to use frozen fruit, you need to thaw it first. I will return this blender and save up for the vitamix. Wish it told me that on the outside of the box, I could have saved a trip."

Works Great!

Pros: puree
Cons: blades are not sharp
"I bought it for especially for the ice crushing and puree.
For ice crushing, you gotta add a good amount of juice or liquid, other wise it spins all the ice around and does not crush it, just breaks it up.
The puree works relly great. I use it to make home-made baby food for my baby.
Overall, it works great, but I have to say, the blades aren't sharp so I don't know how long the blades will last :)"

Expensive Underperformer

Pros: looks good
Cons: lousy purees
Model Number: BBL410XL
"While certainly strong, I've owned cheaper blenders that've out-performed this Breville. This model does NOT handle thick milk shakes and smoothies. Built-in circuit-breaker kicks-in within 2 minutes, and shuts itself down, a huge inconvenience while waiting for the circuit-breaker to reset (this process can take up to several minutes).
In addition, the blades of the Breville are unsharpened, which may make it better at crushing ice, but does little to chop and pulverize small seeds such as strawberry and blackberry seeds so smoothies and fruit purees aren't so smooth or pureed.
Wait for, and buy either the high powered Oster, or Cuisinart blenders, since they come equipped with well sharpened blades, puree well and make very smooth smoothies. They generally cost less than this Breville."
