Very Slow Camera

Pros: low price
Cons: very very slow trigger speed
Model Number: D8
"I purchased this as a second camera to use for wildlife viewing. The top priority in any stationary camera is trigger speed...this one is way too slow. Trigger speed is the time it takes the camera to take a picture after the motion sensor is activated. I was told the trigger speed was 1-2 seconds, the company says 3-4, but it is more like 6-7 seconds. It is so slow I can't even use it as a wildlife camera...the critters are gone before it takes the picture. I contacted Wildgame Innovations to relay my issue to them. They tell me that the trigger speed is about 3-4 seconds (wishful thinking) and offered no other assistance. Even if it was 3-4 seconds it's still too slow for a wildlife camera. In other words, 3-4 seconds after the animal triggers the IR sensor it takes a picture. I really hoped they could speed the trigger with an online software upgrade. The camera has a lot of features for the price but none can help the critical malfuntion of trigger speed. Too bad because on the surface this camera has it all...image viewer, easy set up, low price, etc."

Wildgame Trail Camera D8

Pros: home made external battery, came with sd card, very good day & night pictures, weather seal gasket
Cons: bulky compare to gsm unit
Model Number: D-8
"I have had 5 GSM trail cameras and 4 of the 5 went back to the repair center or returned for refund because of defects. My wife saw the Wildgame Innovations trail camera on Costco's website and ordered it for me. The pictures are better quality then the GSM Unit. I'm use to slow trigger speed the key is product placement, if you place the trail camera in the correct spot trigger speed is an issue that can be overcome. I have gone to another supply warehouse, hardware store and I bought a 6 volt 4.5 amp battery and a small solar 1.5 watt panel made a power cord and duct taped the battery into a plastic bucket. I swap out the SD card once a week and view the hundreds of pictures without the need of replacing D-cells. Product is 1 month old at the time of this writing very good product so far, mid Nov 2010, California just entering the rainy season, the test will be to see how it holds up through the winter. I liked the camera so much that I bought a second D-8."

Nice Setup!

Pros: great ir at night
Cons: needs a security cable set up
Model Number: 8Mp Dual flash
"This camera simply works! The IR feature extends the range to the 60 feet as advertised. Daylight shots appear clear, and the trigger speed is fast.
The SD card works flawlessly, and an extra card makes it easy to swap cards when checking on the cameras.
One camera is not enough - you will want more!

"more for less"

Pros: long range flash., clear pics., definitely water proof, does everything you would expect it to.
Cons: the sun can be your only down fall for images
"More for less is the only thing to say about this game camera. It is simply AWESOME."
