Outstanding product

Pros: great customer service, easy hook up, chrystal clear calls
Cons: none
"My area phone lines are terrible. Static constantly and out of service at least 6 or so times a year. The lines are old and falling apart but the phone company refuses to do anything about it. I was tired of paying for service that was pure garbage. Ooma is great, I subscribed to Premier immediately and it is well worth the 9.99 a month for this service. Took about 5 minutes to hook up and now all of my calls are chrystal clear. If your on the fence, get off and order this product, you will not be sorry."

happy to have finally kicked ATT to the curb

Pros: transporting number from att to ooma took 2 days, saving $35/mo.
Cons: sometimes there's a slight delay in the call
"Well, not all the way ... they do provide the internet that my Ooma calls travel on, but I'm saving $35 per month between the Ooma fees and taxes vs. what I paid for home phone service from ATT. I have internet phone at the office; I don't know why it took me so long to do this at home. These Costco reviews were very helpful in convincing me to take the plunge. The blacklist feature is wonderful! Even though I've been on the no-call list for years, I still had a problem with telemarketers. Now it feels like I have superpowers as I go to my online call log and zap them."

OOMA Internet phone

Model Number: OOMA Telo
"I was very sceptical before I ordered it but everything they say is true and correct. Everything occurred before the time frame they quoted. No hidden charges.

Best. Deal. Ever.

Pros: high quality low cost.
Cons: 3 way calling process a little goofy
Model Number: Ooma Telo
"Why everyone doesn't have Ooma is beyond me. Setup was easy, port went off without a hitch, outstanding voice quality, awesome web command and control, and great customer service (i used web chat but phone is avail too). The Costco deal is great because it extends the premiere trial period to 90 days (normally 60) and it includes the Bluetooth adapter. this is a HUGE plus - they don't do a great job of explaining this but with the adapter you can pair your cell phone to your Ooma - when I get home, I put my cell near the Ooma and my cell calls ring on my home handset. Much more convenient when in home, no more running around the house looking for my cell phone when I hear it ringing. All this for $3.40 in gov fees a month!!!! Can't say enough great things about this."

Works Great - 2 weeks in use

Model Number: Telo
"1. Costco purchase was very smooth and very fast delivered.
2. Costco conditions of this buy is the best comparing to other merchants.
3. Installation was very easy, just follow instructions.
4. I had ported my number. Turn around time was 7-8 days.
5. Sound quality is very good.
6. Works off the splitter from Telo to
phone and computer
7. Tested faxing via USB modem.
Works with *99 dialing first.
8. For my phone needs I don't plan to use premier service after free period.
So, I have not done any setting up and testing.
9. I am very pleased so far. I figured that return on my investment will be after 8 months (Telo cost + Tax + Porting + one time ATT disconnect service charge)
10. Recommendation: Buy at Costco.
You can return it, if you don't like it.

Excellent product

"I'm using Ooma from Last 3 years, it already paid off its price in first year. so I've local US calling service with no extra charge now.
Their customer service is kind off ok, but that don't bother me much as first year instrument is under warranty and after that you've using it for free + you've costco continent return policy, there can't be anything better then that.
Also their online system is good, where you can maintain all your settings and voice mails."

Voice delay slight quality problem

Pros: price is good.
Cons: long voice delay poor reception quality.
Model Number: June 2012 Costco model.
"The ooma telo setup readily but when I tested it by calling my wife's cell phone we immediately noticed about 1/2 second delay in voice transmission either way.
Customer service at ooma was friendly but not trained well in this issue. I received lengthy instructions on how to solve the problem twice; both times the solution was different and both times it was also wrong. I still have the delay and I do not have the delay with my existing phone service.
I think the problem is that the VOIP solution they provide has an inherent delay of about 1/2 second and ooma does not tell people this up front.
Test your ooma telo by dialing someone and have them repeat a word you say immediately after you say it. e.g. count one, two, three... slowly and have the other party repeat the words as soon as they hear them. Try it with you existing phone and note the difference. If you are in the same room with the receiving phone it very easy to notice because you can hear both ends of the conversation.
Also the voice quality even with the premium service is noticeably lower than my existing service."

Just works

Pros: cheaper than other options, ease of installation and setup
Cons: none
"I am happy to reduce $17/mo from the TWC bill. Installation and online activation took about 10 minutes total. Plug the Ooma unit into the Internet modem, take the phone out from it plug into the phone system line-in. Whola. Call quality is as good as TWC. I haven't try the BT adapter yet."

Excellent Product

Pros: reliable, cheaper than phone company, portable
Cons: depends upon internet connection
Model Number: Ooma Telo
"I've had my Telo since September 2010 and am extremely happy.
The call quality is excellent and the service functions as expected. Even while heavily using my internet connection to download multi-gigabyte files, I can still carry on a telephone call with no noticeable change in voice quality.
When I purchased, I retained my landline for two months while I evaluated the Ooma service. After I found it acceptable, I ported my number over to Ooma and cancelled my landline service.
I did choose to opt for the Premier calling package so that I could have the full feature set. The Premier package is far cheaper than the $44/mo I was paying for a landline.
I have my Ooma Telo and cable modem plugged into an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) to permit several hours of use during a power failure.
I've also taken my Telo with me on vacation where I knew that I would have Internet service. Just plugged it in and was immediately able to place and receive calls. I would, however, prefer to see Ooma provide a software phone which I could just install on my laptop.
I cannot comment on customer service as I've never had an occasion to call for support since I've never had a problem."

Ooma Telo fantastic

Pros: excellent call quality, $3.77 a month (the tax varies slightly by area), many features included ( you can buy more.), good tech support, you can transfer your home phone number to ooma, simple design (no geek needed!)
Cons: low latency internet connection required
Model Number: Ooma Telo
"I love this product! This product works well only if you have a low latency internet connection. I have a low latency internet connection and my call quality is excellent. It is equal and sometimes better than a land line. My monthly tax cost is $3.77 I don't pay anything else, and I have free calling to all of the US. The international rates are cheep too, and the quality is also good. The long term cost for ooma is much lower than competing products."

Item would be on my Best 10 list!

Pros: good service!
Cons: faxing but still working on the settings on fax.
Model Number: OOMA Telo
"( The $$ amounts in my paragraph are estimates of what I think my services cost and what I am paying!)I purchased this to replace my AT&T land-line phone service. ($50.00 service a month for 1 phone line.) I was also at the time using slow DSL which cost me another $$45.00 or so... I took the number they gave me and ported my home number to OOMA. I run a small business out of the house and wanted 2 numbers. I also became a premier member for about $100.00 a year... free porting of At&T number. Web based portal is good... can be a little confusing. EASY TO BLOCK the telemarketers that keep calling once they call in the missed call area.
For Phone/voice mail etc... it is great. I am hard wired into a wireless router that is connected to a Comcast Cable modem. Everything works GREAT, BUT faxing. I have had problems with faxing over the OOMA. Some go through and some don't. OOMA's support page tells you this and also recommends settings for your fax... (I still need to do this.)
Cost: About $200.00 for the hardware and $100 for the premier membership with gave me free porting of my number.
(I also pay taxes and 911 fees of about $4.00 a month.
I don't call internationally so don't know much about cost savings.
If you have a cable modem and your bundle cost does not make sense to add the phone line with the cable company... take a look at this...
My estimated cost savings year 1:
$340.000 OOMA costs = $28.00 a month. Previous: $50.00 with only 1 phone line and not the same services that I get with OOMA.
(YOU CAN TRY OUT THE OOMA with the number they give you for a month to see if it works in your internet situation...)"

Much better than Magic Jack and Netalk Duo

Model Number: Telo
"I tried Magic Jack and Nettalk Duo before trying Ooma Telo. Ooma Telo is a great product with great features. Nettalk was pretty good but could not port our current number. Ooma had no problem porting our existing numbe and completed it within 7 days. Ooma premeir features are great even for the additional $10 a month. My wife did not want to give up our landline phone but she likes Ooma and doesn't miss our cable phone system and likes Ooma better. The monthly savings is about $30 and will pay for the Ooma unit in about six months."

Great Little Box

Pros: great customer service, no more counting minutes
Cons: just hope they stay around
Model Number: OOMA Telo
"At first I was reluctant to cut the cord, but after reading the reviews and talking to friends that were already using OOMA, I decided to do.
The port took only a couple of days once I got AT&T to convert my DSL to a stand alone DSL. (What a nightmare.)
After I had converted the DSL and ported my phone number what a pleasure it is not to worry about counting minutes any longer. And if you compare the attitude of the Customer Service people between AT&T and OOMA, I should have cut the cord sooner."

OOMA Telco

Pros: low cost option, get your voice mail in email, voice quality is good
Cons: your contacts are not integraged (like skype), you can't use it from anywhere (like skype0
Model Number: OOMA TELO
"It is really easy to install and get working. I have contacted technical support both using the chat program and calling, they have helpful people. I ported my phone number over from ATT. It works really well and cost a lot less that phone service from ATT."

Finally Ooma works -- Wireless adapter model

Pros: low price at costco, easy returns in the past, cheap domestic and international calling
Cons: support previously unhelpful, had to get a battery backup--or no power no phone
Model Number: Ooma Telo with wireless adapter
"With Ooma it is the old saying: third time is the charm. I bought and returned Ooma Telos to Costco in 2010 and 2011. I couldn't get them to work with our wired network. Something between having a fixed IP address and our firewall settings made the connection horrible and their customer service threw up their hands at our using an Airport Express for wireless. The express doesn't have an ethernet out port which meant the Ooma had to be between the DSL modem and our wireless network. Even though that was Ooma's purported preferred configuration. Support simply blamed our 3 Mbps network speed for our issues.
This year Costco was selling the Ooma Telo with a wireless adapter. Since everything has worked fine on our wireless network I tried again. Success! No issues setting up the Ooma on our network and no issues with our download speed and call quality (the same 3 Mbps of the previous two years). I tested it with phone calls while having one computer stream a Netflix movie and another a TV show on Hulu. No issues. So we cut the phone line.
I like getting a text when a message is left on voice mail and being able to play messages from my browser. We plugged the base station phone into the Ooma and all our wireless phones work happily. We even have voice announced caller ID now--something the phones supported but I'd never been willing to pay for with AT&T."

The best landline replacement for the price

Pros: pays for itself within a matter of months, clear reliable service, competitive international rates
Cons: best suited for high bandwith dsl or cable service
Model Number: Rev. A
"Ooma is well worth the investment:-) I currently pay about $3.50 a month in taxes/fees in CA for virtually unlimited domestic calling, call waiting, voice mail, caller ID/call waiting-caller ID, etc. Based on what I was paying Vonage per month beforehand, my Telo paid for itself within a year. I couldn't be happier with it. Many cordless phones can be configured to access Ooma voice mail. Your voice mail access number is your phone number. My experience with Ooma persuaded 2 of my family members to get their own Telos. That said, I wouldn't recommend Ooma if you have a slower DSL connection (<3mb/s or less). I did initially and the call quality was so-so (even after configuring Ooma using the advanced setup procedures described on their support site)."
