very disappointed
Pros: it can be returned to costco no questions asked.
"I had this model in my house for a few weeks. It is missing an important feature - the ability to set resistance. Also, it was set up incorrectly by the installers and as a result there was a plastic part that broke and scraped the piece that the foot holder rolls on. Xterra took WEEKS to send a replacement part. By that time I no longer wanted the unit. If they are unresponsive while still under warranty and I can get my money back I can imagine what a problem it will be for service down the road. Do youselves a favor and get a somewhat more expensive model, say one made by Vision Fitness. No, I have nothing do do with Vision Fitness. I recommend True, also, or Precor. :)"

Wonderful Product!
Pros: quiet, white glove delivery, fabulous workout
Cons: mono-speakers, weak fan

"After having dealt with a poor choice in a treadmill purchase, I was a bit hesitant of making such a big purchase again. As soon as I worked out on this machine, all my worries went away. What a fabulous machine! You really get your money's worth making this purchase. From the white glove delivery and set up to the quiet yet full scale workout...you get it all. I agree with the previous reviewers in that the speakers and fan are virtually useless, but the machine itself more than makes up for it. I use my earpods for my ipod anyway. Perhaps this is something the company should address in the furture. At any rate, I would not hestitate making this purchase again."

"We purchased the XTerra Elliptical FS5.2 online and were told that it would be up to 3 weeks before delivery. We were pleasantly surprised when it arrived in a little over a week. The transport company delivered it on time, brought it in and assembled it in about an hour. They refused to remove the packaging saying that their contract required them to leave it in case the machine had to be returned. I argued that all emails/paperwork said that the packing materials will be removed by the delivery and assembly company. They left without taking it with them even after saying they would.
When my husband tried the Elliptical for the first time, it was not level and was making a terrible creaking sound on every pedal. We tried to balance it ourselves but it did not make any change in the sound. I immediately called Spirit Fitness and they ordered wavy washers and a technician to come out. We received the parts and the technician came out to the house within a week. He was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and efficient! He knew exactly what the problem was and went about fixing it. The assembly had been poorly done with screws missing and/or not being tightened.
We are very pleased with the machine. It is quiet and works very smoothly. Spirit Fitness is easy to work with and very willing to make the customer happy. We highly recommend the XTerra Elliptical FS5.2."

Great Product
"I bought this elliptical over three months ago and have been thoroughly pleased. As I get older (currently 64) running on a treadmill was giving me increasing joint pain. Now I get a good cardio workout without the lingering pain. My wife uses it and loves it as well. The stationary bike she used previously is now idle.
I have found the operation of the elliptical to be smooth and quiet (once I lubricated the glide rails). The ability to program a customized workout is great.
I only have a couple of minor design complaints. The fan is small and weak - almost useless. Also, the receptacle for MP3 player or something else is too small. I would like it to be big enough to at least hold both my iPhone and my glasses."

"I am very happy with this purchase!! I ordered after doing lots of research on ellipticals, all with no avail! I could not find any of the Costco ellipticals anywhere so that I can test them out before I purchased this very large machine. Bottom line, I took a chance ordered it, and I LOVE it. The machine is quiet and very smooth. Awesome workout! The delivery did take 3 weeks, but the delivery guys were knowledgeable and very quick. There were no mishaps to report. All in all very satisfied!! ( very large , you do need lots of space.)"

Quiet one !!
"I would say this so quiet. just I love it. The one problem I had was assembly guy ( I think not professional) missed out couple of washers and started making noise within a week. When I called warranty # they were so prompt in responding. I had it fixed within 1 week. It's been more than 2 wks continuous use and No problems and so quiet. If you are thinking of eliliptical just go for this!!"
