Excellent page layout/graphic design software

Pros: powerful, full-featured, imports/exports many formats, easy on system resources
Cons: a learning curve for novice users
Model Number: CorelDraw X5
"Been using CorelDraw since version 3. (f.y.i. X5 is ver. 15). It is a great page layout/graphic design software that allows importing/exporting graphics to most formats on the market. There is a learning curve for beginners, precisely because it is so full-featured. However, with a little practice, the interface becomes fairly intuitive. Having also used Photoshop and Illustrator I can tell you that Corel is NOT any more difficult to learn than Adobe suite, which I personally find to be an interface design nightmare and a system resource hog! But also, notice the price difference!
There is very little that you CAN'T do with CorelDraw software if you take the time to learn how to. I was pleasantly surprised that the Home and Student Suite is NOT a stripped-down version. There are more features than even the advanced users will ever need.

A fantastic deal

Pros: full-featured graphics package., $1000+ for same functionality from adobe
Cons: no manual? too bad for newbies.
"I've been using CorelDraw products for years, and was disappointed when my copy of CorelDraw 11 wouldn't work with Windows 7/64. I've been singing the praises of PhotoPaint as an alternative to PhotoShop for years, and here it is, and very cheap!"

Outstanding value

Pros: 3 pc license, value
"I've been using the CorelDraw Suite for years, since at least CorelDraw Graphics Suite 8, and this seems to have all of the features of the full suite at a fraction of the cost. Being able to install it on 3 computers is a BIG plus also (Mom and Dad's desktop, laptop and daughter's desktop)."

CorelDRAW is a great graphics package

Pros: lower cost of this home and student version
"I've used CorelDRAW through several versions. It is so easy to use. I mostly create greeting cards and flyers with it. So much better than Illustrator. And PhotoPaint is wonderful for editing digital images and adjusting clipart."

Excellent Price on Well Featured Product

"I have used Corel products for years, and wished to upgrade for a Windows 7 install. This is a 3 PC package, meaning you can install it on up to 3 PC's. It is intended for Home/Student use, not commercial use.
Package includes CorelDRAW (vector graphic based drawing tool), Photo-PAINT (bitmap based photo and image editor), CONNECT (which allows you to seamlessly share images between CorelDRAW and Photo-Paint), and CAPTURE (which permits you to pull images from a desktop window, various scanners and other sources).
CorelDRAW now includes TRACE, which can be used to turn bitmap images into vector images. Total package does NOT include some other features that the commercial version package does, but for most folks, this Home and Student package covers 99% of what you want to do very well. The applications themselves have been delicately improved - meaning that I was immediately able to jump in and use it without the usual "Where did they move THAT command" problem that other packages' upgrades have; and that things that in retrospect were a little clumsy have been improved with better defaults or options to reduce steps.
Excellent product, and at an excellent price-point!"

CorelDraw X5

Pros: easy to get used to as a former user
Cons: a little slo even with 4gb memory
Model Number: CorelDRAW Home and Student Suite X5
"So far a very good graphics program for someone who's used CorelDraw for many years (17+) on a non-professional level. Has many of the features I wanted but WIN7 prevented in the older versions and haven't found anything I wanted to add yet."

Great Deal

"I expected a version of CorelDRAW with limited features but was pleasantly surprised to find that this version has many features found in programs costing much more. The tutorial videos are good, but could contain more details. Overall, I don't think I will ever need another program with more features."

not so easy

"I wasn't expecting this product to be really easy to learn, but I found it harder than expected. I will probably go back to using a graphics and photo editing program I already had. Tutorials were great, but actually using it was not."
