Review 1 for Cafekid™ Bookcase Vanity
Date:February 21, 2012
Pros: cost, recieved it quickly, great customer service
Cons: small in size, made with inexpensive materials
"This item is very cute and tiny so good for little ones. It is made very cheaply though and has a minor crack and some missing paint. However, the company was great to work with. My mirror was cracked and they responded to my email on the weekend and shipped a new one out. I also asked for touch-up paint which they sent out right away as well. All in all, I purchased it for my grandaughter to use when she visits so I am happy with it."

Belongs in the Toy department
"This vanity bookcase and stool is not suitable for 3 years and up. It looks more like vanity for a big doll. Will be returning this purchase."

"I purchased this for my daughter at age 2 and now at 3 and a half she still LOVES it even more. This is very sturdy and well made. The stool was rather tippy for a 2 year old, but it is low enough that on the carpet she was okay if it tipped over. It probably wouldn't be as tippy on hardwood floors. I had no problem finding cute baskets to fit in the openings. This vanity is perfect for little girls and my daughter spend lots of time using it for all sorts of activities aside from adoring herself in the mirror! :-)"

Review 5 for Cafekid™ Bookcase Vanity
Date:December 3, 2010
Wonderful quality and so sweetly retro!
Pros: well built, very solid quality construction, very easy to assemble, can use from a very early age, matches abbey and shayna collections
Cons: mirror is fixed and can't adjust angle, finish is not a pure white more like milk white
Model Number: 558229
"I fell in love with this when I saw it at our local Costco in 2009 while pregnant with our daughter. So sweet for a little girl with the spindle legs and scallop detailing. Apparently it's a very popular item because it was sold out 2 days later when I went back with the van to purchase it! Costco customer service was VERY helpful in researching the item number and then finding it at another store for me. Bonus is you'll pay less if purchased at a local Costco because shipping costs are included in the online price.
The item description does say 3 years and up so I did buy it very early considering she wasn't even born yet! But it was so lovely I had to have it for her. Luckily, when my husband was assembling it he decided to leave the leg extensions off. (The leg extensions screw in at the point just above the bulb detail on the spindle legs.) When assembled in this manner, the bookcase vanity will have short legs with a flat bottom. It sits very sturdily on the floor even when (not completely) assembled in this manner.
So now it's actually the perfect height for Angelica at 11 months old and she absolutely loves her little vanity. She sits at it and looks in the mirror, plays with her jewelry box and puts her books and little treasures on the shelves. As she gets older and taller, we'll just screw the leg extensions in place. This piece really has the ability to grow with a baby girl from the cruising stage on up if you decide to leave off the leg extensions as we did.
We are so pleased with the quality and finish of this item that we will be adding other Cafe Kids pieces to Angelica's bedroom. The Abbey and Shayna collections match this bookcase vanity perfectly. (The Abbey trundle bed is what is featured on the box with the vanity, and you can see it peeking out of the left corner of the online picture.)
FYI - The bookcase vanity does NOT include the little baskets shown on the shelves in the item picture. The info on the box does say the items are not included, but the online description does not mention this fact!"
