Drive failed after 14 mos

"at the time of purchase there was only a 90-day warranty, so at least now you are covered with a limited 2-year warranty--maybe they have improved the product"

Good for first three months then...
Pros: size and speed
Cons: fragile
Model Number: SEAGATE Free Agent GoFlex 9ZFAD1-500
"This portable hard drive was an upgrade for my 250gb Seagate flexdrive. I used the 250 for more than a year and transported and utilized them both the same way. This 1.5Tb crashed and burned within three months. It won't read or be recognized by any computer."

It works

"Using it to backup my home PC's (using the built in backup in Windows 7) and bringing the hard drive to my office so we have a backup copy of our data elsewhere. My only ding, is that it took FOREVER to format the drive before first using it."

Failed after 2 months
"Worked well for about 2 months. Then stopped functioning (not recognized by any computer I plugged it into). Seagate tech support agreed that the drive has failed. They did agree to replace it, but since the drive contains personal data, I ultimately decided to eat the cost and not send it back. Expensive lesson learned."

Nice addition to the traveling office

"This small hard drive works well. It seems to travel well too. It holds about ten years of our office files and all of our data base."
