Excellent Product

Pros: good value, auto-stop when the tank is full, manual configuration allowed for humidity level, solid design
Cons: none i've noticed.
"I thought for $149, this product is an excellent value. It took out the moisture in my 1000+ sq. foot daylight basement, resulting in a better odor (it doesn't smell musty anymore)."

leaking dehumidifier

Pros: compact easy to use
Cons: leakage when bucket is pulled out.
Model Number: DDR3OE
"This is my third dehumidifier. I am surprised that Costco is selling an inferior product. I like the compact size and its ability to do extract moisture quickly. However, right after I turn off the machine, when I pull out the bucket to empty the water out, there is a continous leakage from the machine into the space of the bucket which I am pulling out. This residual water makes a puddle. The machine is supposed to shut off the residual water so nothing leaks out when the bucket is pulled out. I have used 2 others and they did not leak when I pulled out the bucket, not even if I did not switch off the machine to empty the bucket."

Works Very Well!

Pros: reasonable price, easy to use controls, nice quality and design
Cons: none to speak of
Model Number: DDR30E
"We bought this to dehumidify our living area during the monsoon season here in AZ. The first one had a defective compressor on arrival which I believe was a rare occurrence, so we returned it to Costco and ordered another which works fine
It's well made, with an easily removable water container with handle. The controls make it easy to use. Sound level is moderate and not objectionable, although we tend not to run it if we're in the room. It's pulling about 4-6 pints of water out of the air in our house in 6 hours every night.
The manual is not clear on this, but the compressor shuts off when the measured humidity reaches the level selected. The fan runs continuously as long as its on to measure the current humidity.
It's our first dehumidifier and we are very satisfied with it, and would buy it again."

Overall happy with the Danby

Pros: small easy to use
Cons: no auto fan off
"I needed a dehumidifer for our finished basement. Chose the Danby for it's good ratings and sq footage; it does a good job on my basement which is 1000 sq ft. Controls are very easy to use, so far have not used the auto drain option, as I have found emptying it quite easy, has a carrying handle inside the drawer. Only thing that I wish would be different (as noted by other reviews) is that once the timer/24 hrs is over, the fan still runs but does not dehumidify; need to reset the timer. For the price, easy to use controls, I am overall happy with the Danby."

Great Little Machine!

Pros: great value, easy to set-up and run, light-weight and compact
Cons: no auto shut-off
"I've owned dehumidifiers in the past and it was always a crapshoot when selecting a new product. For this purchase, I relied on the mantra "well, if Costco sells it, it has to be good... if it's not, I'll just return it" Well, it's been a few weeks and I love this machine. It is very compact in size, not heavy (so taking it up/down stairs is not an issue), the controls are easy to understand and program, and water bucket is easy to maneuver out for quick empties. The dehumidifier included a hose, so the unit could empty directly into a drain, but we have opted to not use that feature. The only thing I wish it had was an automatic shut-off when the desired humidity is achieved, but this is a small inconvenience. Alternatively, the user can just program the unit to run for a few hours and that'll get you pretty close to the humidity % you want."

Very good product

Pros: works as described.
Cons: none
Model Number: DDR30E
"Only had one week, but everything is working fine. It is removing basement moisture very well.
I hooked up the hose so I can leave it on 24/7 over the floor drain. Very quiet fan vs. my old dehumidifier that had the conventional fan blades. This has a squirrel cage fan that move a lot of air.."

Quiet and Reliable

Pros: small, quiet, reliable
"This is a nice looking, quiet machine. We had an identical one in another location and it worked so well that we decided to order another of the same make and model. Can be used with the enclosed hose, or with the float mechanism.
We love it; the proof is in the repurchase of another one!"

SO glad we bought it!

Pros: automatically turns off when the reservoir is full, handy timer to turn the unit off, easy to empty (about once a day).
Cons: i wish the fan was a little quieter
Model Number: DDR30E
"The Danby 30 is great for taking excess moisture out of the air; helping to eliminate the 'waterfall' on the windows, and 'lakes' on the windowsills."

Danby 30-Pint Dehumidifier

Model Number: Danby 30-pint Dehumidifier
"I bought two of these units for rental units. I have not personally used these units. They were purchased based upon recommendations from other buyers. Both tenants have reported satisfactory use. Units are reasonably quiet and maintenenace free. Based upon this use over nearly two weeks of continuous useage, I recommend."

Dehumidifier

Model Number: DDR30E
"Works well in the damp Western Washington climate. It only runs for 1 day and needs to be reset each day for hours of operation. Seems to pull a small amount of water out of our very cement garage each 12 hour operation."

Only fair - no self-regulation

"This would be a good machine except that it doesn't seem to cycle on and off automatically when it reaches the desired humidity level. You have to physically turn it on or off, or set it for a specific timeframe -- so it doesn't work well for a basement or space you don't often visit.
If that were not the case, I would give it much higher marks."

Wonderful Product

Pros: size, power, energy star, timer
Cons: fan is very cold
Model Number: Danby 30-pint Dehumidifier
"Within 1 hr this dehumidifier collected 4 cups of water. It is very compact (for what it is) and is not too heavy. It is easy to wheel it around the house. The timer is a great option, and the water is easy to dump. We have not hooked up the drain hose, but it does have the option. It has a fan that is always running which makes the house super cold (like an air conditioner in the winter), but it is not very loud."

OK but not great

Pros: inexpensive
"The unit was inexpensive and seems to work well. The main drawback is that it does shut off when the set humidity level is set."

Great unit

"We use this to supplement our air conditioner when the humidity us up but temps are down. We like how the fan runs all the time so it does not wake us coming on and off when needed, although the unit is not loud at all."
