Works Too Good!
Pros: good value, easy set-up, effective and reliable early warning device
Cons: sensor detects cars beyond 40 ft.
"I purchased this unit in lieu of paying a monthly fee for an alarm company that only alerts you after somebodies already in the house. I set one transmitter for the front porch / yard and one for the back. Set-up was easy and I had it up and running in 20 minutes. The sensor area is perfect for my medium sized, rectangular shaped house and yard, it detects movement from the sidewalk all the way to the bedroom windows and front door and covers the back patio and yard perfectly. There is one problem however, the specs say the sensor only covers a 40' X 40' area, but the sensor in the front yard works a little 'too good' because the Terrace adjoining the street I live on (approx. 200 ft. away) lies directly behind most of the viewing area...So every time a car passes by my street I get an alert, it's driving my wife crazy and she's pressuring me to set the delay but I don't want to because then it won't be active when a person approaches the house. So I plan on contacting customer service to find out if I can adjust the sensitivity. Other than that I am happy with the purchase (costco.com has the best price, includes one extra sensor). The only thing I would add is a blue tooth or similar transmitter to send text message alerts to mobile devices when were not in the bedroom where the receiver sits."

Didn't work out as described or hoped for.
Pros: none
Cons: didn't function.
"I bought this based on design, features and flexibility. Set up was easy. The range was almost non existent. I placed the sender less then 100 ft. from the receiver with one wall between. The base unit would register the signal when the sender unit was very near but not from where I wanted it located. I called the company & talked to one of the guys there. I told him the unit was less than 100 ft. and placed slightly down slope from the house, and he told me to place it in a line of sight location. This still didn't produce any results. I packed it up and returned it. I had a Chamberlain unit for a long time which worked fine from the location I placed the Voice Alert sender. I think the Chamberlain gave up from age and weather exposure, so I'm going back to buying another of those units. I'm disappointed the Voice Alert didn't work out since it seemed like a nice one from the description."

Pros: ease of setup and operation., well worth the price., infrared sensors minimize false alarms.
Cons: manual advises alkaline 9v batteries in sensors., manufacturer only supplies regular 9v batteries., when base unit is "on" some static can be heard, sometimes from other electronic devices

It was easy to set up and program the 2 wireless motion detectors to provide a different alert message for each one. The beauty of this device is the minimum of false alarms because of the infrared sensors. The wind, rain, insects or cold-blooded creatures do not activate the alarm. We feel so much more secure in our home now, and we have used this device on a daily basis, keeping the base unit turned on in our bedroom overnight and also during the day whenever we want."

Better than expected
Pros: very adjustible, good transmission range
"I put one sensor about 300 ft through woods and the receiver was inside two walls in my house. Didn't expect it to work but it does. I cut away most branches/leaves between sensor & driveway but not all, expecting a light wind to set the sensor off. So far it hasn't but the sensor does pick up a small dog on his daily rounds, I could probably fix that but don't care. The receiver would only pick up the signals from the distance sensor about half the time when I put a weather radio by it.. Moved that and it worked fine again."

EXCELLENT PRODUCT
"Got this last week, and I loved it. All my life hated reading manual/instructions how to set up things. I way it look I thought it pretty complicate to set up so I set a side for one week until my someone could help me. However; I decided to give it a try and set up myself and I was successfully set it up. IT SUCH AN EASY 1,2,3 STEPS SET UP ..I put on my back door and the sensor picks up pretty good to movement...loved it.."

Peace of Mind
Pros: security & detterence, peace of mind
Cons: sensitive sensors need to place away from traffic, or neighbors with dogs or children, at times birds or heavy winds moving the trees, will set it off.
"Bought this product due to a "crazy neighbor". And i think it works great...tells me when anyone steps a foot into an area that is covered by the motion sensors. Especially at night when I need it most. I highly recommend this product for security & detterence! I placed one by my driveway and the other by my sliding door in the back. Planning to purchase 1 or 2 more sensors."

Voice alert works well
Pros: does what it says
"The product works excellent. I have cameras that record on motion but they don't tell me someone is in my yard. This unit allows me to know they are there and then I can check my cameras or confront the trespassers. Also let's me know when neighbors pets are in yard. Windy days do Cause false alarms but I expected that. Very happy with product. Only addition that would be nice is time date stamp when the motion is sensed."

"Easy setup. Have had many driveway etc. detectors over the years, this is the BEST. Will wake you. Used with the wireless security camera system and you have plenty of early warning plus the ability to see who/what set it off. Very few false alarms, all on sensor that is lower than recommended."

Works as designed
Pros: sensors see a long way, voice allert is more than loud enough, sensor beams can be adjusted for pattern

"Bought this unit because of an increase of crime in our neighborhood. We have one monitor that watches our driveway and front yard and one on the side of the house watching over a friends motorhome that is stored there. The sensor over the driveway even though it isn't mounted at an optimum height (it's at about 5' off the ground) manages to not only see my driveway but my neighbors driveway 60' away. I know if someone is walking down either of our driveways which is a plus for us. Some have said the volume isn't loud enough but that depends on how loudly YOU record the message. If you speak softly when YOU record the message then it won't be very loud when it's played back at full volume. I spoke in a loud and authoritative voice and at full volume it is more than enough to wake us upstairs in our bedroom behind closed doors (the unit is on our 2nd floor, bedrooms are on the 3rd). I prefer this system to a camera which will in most cases only let you see the damage being done after the fact. With the monitoring system thieves can't even step foot on my propert y and we know they are there. I highly reccomend this unit. It's also an added bonus that we know when the pizza delivery person is there or when UPS/Fedex/ETC has come down the driveway with a package."

misrepresented product
"The unit came with only 1 sensor rather than two. Also, the battery connector was broken on one of the 9V terminals. Had to return the purchase to Costco"

And Costco makes returns painless.

Good Item
"Having had this installed for two weeks I think that this unit works well and is priced well. The unit is easy to install and gives great coverage. It will pickup small animals such as raccoons and dogs but the coverage angle could probably be adjusted to limit that. Four transmitter units will easily cover all approach angles for most residences/businesses....it would be pretty difficult for anyone to sneak up to a window or door."

"My home already has an alarm system. The beauty of this system, however, is that you are alerted to activity outside your home. This system does this beautifully. I actually bought two of these systems, so I could have a monitor upstairs and downstairs, and four sensors. Absolutely wonderful. The system works beautifully, is easy to install, and gives a peace of mind that is hard to beat. Highly recommended!!"

Great device
Pros: many transmitters can be added
"I purchased this unit and it is an excellent system. The transmiter sends over a long distance. It goes through my walls --- even cell phones sometimes have difficulty in doing this. The transmitters have to placed where there are no trees or bushes that activate the unit (found this out the hard way). This being done, the system is programmed by you to say what you record: "Intruder in the garage" or "Movement in front yard", etc.. An extra receiver can be purchased from the mfg so that the receivers can be heard in multiple locations (upstairs and downstairs). We now have 3 transmitters, one of which we placed in a birdhouse. They are weather proof, but with most electronics it is probably best to shelter the unit under an eave, etc. We highly recommend the unit."

Reliable and accurate motion alert system

"I have spend a lot of time looking at systems for my backyard that spans 400-500 ft. This is the only system available that is an accurate outdoor system. The motion sensor picks even the movement of small animal like a dog or cat. The motion sensor doesn't pick up unwanted false signals e.g., from the road behind my backyard. My house is a large 4000+ sq ft. house and most of the systems available in the market or online couldn't connect with the motion sensor as the range was not more than 200 ft and the range drops significantly with the walls. This is the only system that connected connects with the motions flawlessly over a range of 500ft through the walls. I can keep my base unit anywhere in the house and I have no issues connecting with the motion sensors installed outside the house. It came with two motion sensors, I am buying two more sensors and am planning to hook up an outdoor alarm with the switch provided in the base unit. The installation was such that any kid would connect the system. Highly recommended outdoor motion monitoring system."

"I tried several low cost sensors from other stores, but none of them worked consistently or accurately.
The Voice Alert is consistent, accurate and well built. You can custom record the alert (I have chimes recorded, so it sounds like a door bell) and it supports up to 6 zones. Right now mine cover the driveway and walk-up, which lets me know if someone is coming to the door or messing with my car.
Initial set up takes some time as you try to find the perfect location for the sensors, but once you do the system works great. With a little patience you won't be disappointed."
