"This printer does a real nice job. The 2-sided printing is great and it comes with great software for managing pdfs. Its big but not too big; it has the footprint of a standard at home printer, just a little taller. This is a really nice printer."

Poor printer at price
Pros: price
Cons: poor quality
Model Number: 9970CDW
"I used this printer in my office. In about 6 months it started giving us a "replace drum" message. (At this point it had not even printed in TOTAL what it's MONTHLY printing capicity was.) Guess what??? not covered under Brother warranty. Costco said they would allow a return, but I had just bought all new cartridges ($$$). So I replaced the drum (at about $200). At the reset for the drum, it started giving us a "replace belt" message. Guess what??? not covered under Brother warranty. I will be returing to Costco. Thank you, Costco!"

Nice printer
Pros: direct emailing double side printing
Cons: too big
Model Number: 9970CW
"This is a very nice printer. The best option that it has , is the emailing your documents directly to your email. It does everything and more. The only negative this is that it is too big. You will need a large desk to accommodate the size."

Outstanding All-in-One
Pros: works as advertised and never a single paper jam.
Cons: you should buy the tn-315 long-lasting cartridges.
Model Number: MFC 9970CDW
"I've been very happy with this purchase. I replaced my new HP OfficeJet 8500 which was a terrible product with the Brother MFC-9970CDW and I couldn't be happier. I've also had other HP products and a Zerox all-in-one before, and nothing compares with the speed, ease of use, and quality of Brother."

Very bad product
Pros: no pro's
Cons: print quality not worth the price, short life on print cartridges, replacement print cartridges way to expensive.
Model Number: MFC 9970 CDW
"Very dis-satisfied with this printer. Blue cartridge ran dry after only 501 pages. Cartridges are supposed to last 1500 pages. Brothers help desk was rude and took no responsibility for why cartridge ran dry so fast - and told me that I needed to pay $70 for a new cartridge. Plus, printer shuts down when 1 cartridge goes dry - it won't operate on remaining 3 cartridges."

Review 7 for Brother MFC-9970CDW Color All-in-One Laser Printer
Cons: color quality is lacking, scanner pulls paper crooked, uses lots of toner quickly
Model Number: MFC-9970CDW
"Good machine, but the color quality is lacking the vibrancy that it should be putting out. Looks washed out compared to the larger office machine but does good for quick prints, and duplexing on glossy paper. No issues with it over 4 months of office usage, but uses up toner pretty quick. Easy to install, and get wireless setup."

Model Number: MFC-9970CDW
"This is my fourth Brother All in One machine. It works flawlessly and was very easy to install. We are now printing wirelessly and couldn't be any happier. My last Brother All in One lasted over 5 years in my busy home office. Highly recommend!"

High Quality Multi-Function Color Laser
Pros: love the duplexing, delivered in 3 days.
Cons: some paper curl but not too bad, default button set for fax not copy
Model Number: Brother MFC-9970CDW
"This is a preliminary review. I have only had it for several weeks. This printer replaces both a 12 year old color laser and an 8 year old multi function inkjet printer. Excellent packaging that prevents any type of damage. Setup was quick and easy. Instantly recognized on my home network (using Ethernet). Very fast warm up and printing. Text quality is excellent and photos are good to very good. Scanning and copying are a breeze. Excellent software included. Auto shut off after 3 minutes to reduce power usage. Deep sleep mode (Ethernet) uses less than 2 watts, standby mode is 75W and printing is approx 700W. If you use a wireless LAN, the sleep mode power consumption is approx 10watts.
I may provide another review later on if anything substial good or bad happens."

Solid Machine
"So far this has been great. Setup was easy. The machine is very fast. Print quality is very good. Pictures aren't awesome, but they are very good for a color laser. It does wrinkle envelopes a bit when they are fed from the MP tray, but not terribly. I haven't tried loading them in the main tray yet, so I can't comment on that."

Great Purchase
Pros: set up and speed
Cons: none
Model Number: MFC-9970CDW
"I was a little concerned after reading the reviews, but I am very pleased with this printer. The set up was very easy on my wireless network. I work on both a Mac and PC and it works great.
I went through the first cartridges as I do a lot of color. After searching the web I was able to work around this and extend the life of the cartridges substantially."

Great Printer
Model Number: Brother MFC-9970CDW Color Laser All-in-One Duplex Wireless Printer
"Printer works great, but the print is not as clear as I would have liked it to be. Set up was easy except for my iMac which I am running Parallels on does not seem to find the scanner while using Windows. I need to scan from the Apple side & save & transfer PDF file to my Windows program/document that I am using. This may be an easy fix with a call to Brother, but I have not taken the time to do that yet. Duplexer works great! Very satisfied with overall purchase."

Very good All-in-One at an excellent price
Pros: very good color output, maintenance plans available from brother, speed fast enough for multiple users
Cons: at 80 lbs you need two people to install, paper capacity only 300 pages w/o upgrade, needs a lot of space in the back
Model Number: MFC9970CDW
"Got this All-in-One to replace an old B-W MFC for the office. Setup was very easy with instructions simple to follow. Everything worked as described, but I was particularly pleased with first page speed and duplex printing. Compared to an HP 8600 inkjet, I felt the fairly small difference in price was well worth the speed and capacity. Photo printing might not be as good, but certainly good enough for business use and presentation. I especially like not having to wait long for a printout."

Fits the bill
Model Number: MFC-9970CDW
"I love the wireless and duplexing capabilities for writing my quilting patterns. I could be in any room in the house and not have to get up to attend to the printer. For my usage I have only used the start up cartridges and finally have to replace the cyan after 2 months of use. Think of the production with a full toner cartridge. Once it got here I haven't had a real problem. The tech department were wonderful in helping me set up the wireless. I'm great at quilting but for computers/printers I need a little expert help."
