Bought Norton for my son
Pros: one of industry standards
Cons: hard to remove once installed
"I use McAfee. Norton & McAfee have been around for decades. There are others out there that are good, but corporations typically go with these two so you really can't go wrong with either one.
My son's computer came with Norton and from previous experience, I have found it difficult to remove anti-virus software once installed. It is easier to simply go with what came on the PC and just update it regularly. It may be ancient history but one of the Norton anti-virus software's of the past couldn't be removed without editing the computer's registry by hand. No small task for the average end user."

does not do all I wanted
Cons: con't back up to external harddrive
"Worked well for security but will not back up to an external harddrive like the last two software programs I used. Norton only wants to back up to their on-line service that is too small for anything other than my i-pod."

included bonus might not be useful
Pros: norton 360 is good
Cons: bonus might be useless
"The bonus provided in costco is Smartphone security which can be used only for Windows or Symbian phones, not iphone or android."

Pros: loads quickly, great protection, easy updates
Cons: free smartphone security is useless, no android support, no iphone support, old windows phone support
"bought this product because it is a great deal from Costco. Been using Norton Internet Security for the Past 10 years. Thought that Nortons 360 needed a try out it comes with backup features"
