Air Maui Helicopter Tour

Air Maui – Hawaii’s premier helicopter company when it comes to fun, adventure and customer satisfaction has been operating in Maui and Molokai for over 10 years. You’ll ride in safety and comfort aboard an air conditioned, six-passenger Astar helicopter, enjoying 180 degree views. Throughout the flight, your pilot’s lively narration will transport you into the history, culture and ecology of the islands unfolding beneath you, with stereo music choreographing your journey. Please review the terms and conditions below before ordering. The Air Maui Difference: Experience makes the difference: Our pilots are experienced professionals with thousands of hours of flight time. Trained under the demanding standards of Air Maui’s owner and veteran pilot, Steve Egger, only the best are selected to become an Air Maui pilot. And, becoming a top-grade pilot is only the first step – they must also excel at being your personal tour guide. As you cruise over the fantastic landscapes you will be entertained and educated about Maui’s history, landscape, geology, flora and fauna.   Fun and Friendly People: At Air Maui you’re not just another face lost in the crowd. While others offer a “tour bus” environment with large groups, Air Maui is known as the limousine service of the helicopter industry. Our fun and professional staff greet each and every passenger and personally assist with check-in.   Quality and Safety make the difference: At the end of the day, an entirely new crew takes charge of each aircraft. Our FAA certified and factory trained mechanics inspect and maintain our helicopters to ensure every system and every component meet specs. If it’s not perfect, it doesn’t fly.   In aviation, quality and safety count: Regardless of others’ claims of excellence and awards, the proof is in the safety record. After more than 23 years of operations, Air Maui has a perfect safety record – no one else can make that claim. That’s not luck – that’s the combined commitment of professional pilots and first class aircraft maintenance. nice tour

Pros: great views, experienced pilot
Cons: product placement
"The tour was great, the ride smooth, and the pilot was very informative. The only negative I have to report is that it felt like there was a significant amount of "product placement" on the flight. We were constantly told about other products we should try, buy, and sample. Considering the number of times the "Maui Coffee Company" was mentioned (easily 10 times) I find it hard to believe there's not some kind of partnership or financial arrangement there. That's just one example. Other products and services were also mentioned a lot."

Awesome Air Maui

Pros: safety great pilot, friendly staff & service
"My husband and I booked the Hana/Haleakala trip but the clouds were too heavy over the volcano so the pilots weren't flying that way on our scheduled day. They took us instead to West Maui and over to Molokai. Thomas, our pilot, was wonderful and knowledgeable and safety was utmost during our whole experience. We had been asked to view a short video before the ride and safe measures were always stressed. The scenery and smooth ride were wonderful - so many waterfalls on Molokai were seen, and the terrain is just so lovely. We were lucky to be seated in the two front seats next to the pilot so our views were amazing. Thomas narrated the ride through individual headsets that we wore. The whole experience was memorable and was a great way to see some of the islands. Highly recommend! (Trip taken Oct., 2011)"

TOO COOL !

Cons: being recorded/on video
"Well worth the money and a little forethought! What a great way to see parts of Hawaii, you would not normally get to see! WATERFALLS were beautiful on Molokai.
Had we been there longer, we would have taken the Hana tour too! Staff was professional & focused on safety, yet also fun to interact with!

Air Maui

"Pilot was extremely well versed in her hawaii knowledge. We had only one problem with a head set malfunction, but they gave us a free dvd of the flight. I would definitely use them again."

Excellent experience!

Pros: spectacular scenery, welcoming staff, fun and exciting way to see the islands, solid safety record
"First of all this is an excellent deal all around. We just got back from Maui a couple of days ago and ended up doing West Maui/Molokai tour, I would highly recommend it. You can see other parts of Maui by car including Hana and Haleakala; it makes it for a fun and challenging drive with many curves in both cases. As for Molokai, there are lots of waterfalls on lush and green island hat people simply cannot see other than by air, so it is definitely a great tour.
It does take about a week to receive AirMaui gift cards from Costco, so plan accordingly. You will be asked for the gift card number(s) when scheduling a tour and when you arrive at AirMaui they ask for the gift cards.
If this is a last minute thing and you can't wait for the gift cards by mail, do visit a Costco on the island (it’s by the OGG Airport). They had these gift cards for sale at the store, so do stop by or give them a call to see if they have them in stock. BTW, Costco is a great place to get Macadamia nuts (several options), sashimi, local pineapple, even Hawaiian lei. The island is expensive and many people shop at Costco, even visitors.

Great deal on a fun trip

"Nice complement to a Maui vacation! These guys run a good operation, and dicsount thru Costco was better than any Internet or on-island deal. The 45-minute West Maui + Molokai trip we took was very nice. Good copters & equipment; knowledgable pilots. It was a little starange to have to wait for snail-mail delivery of plastic access cards to validate our purchase (why not just a coded Internet receipt?), but otherwise, everything was cool!"
