don't waste your money

Pros: costco's return policy
Cons: fan/light receiver broke after 1 week of use, complicated remote control operation, complicated installation, fan/light turn on randomly on their own, noisy when fan is on high
"the installation is so confusing we had to have a handyman/electrician install it for $50+. the remote is impossible to use - the light and fan turn on randomly, wasting electricity. it is not intuitive at ALL how to adjust the lighting and fan simultaneously. the fan is also relatively noisy on high. after 1 week, the fan and light receiver stopped working altogether so the fan and light could not be turned on! thank god for costco's return policy - this went back the next day."

Nice fan for large room with convenient remote..

Pros: nice fan for very large room, tendy design for modern look
Cons: complecated assembly, assembly instructions could be more detailed, black harware in light globe (white) shows up odd
Model Number: Costco Item# 580353
"- Nice fan with great air flow that is sufficient for even very large rooms and open areas.
- Reverse airflow button conveniently located on remote (a huge plus when ceiling fan is installed on very high ceiling).
- Only issue I can see is the light bulb hardware is of black color and when lights are off on fan those black hardware see through light globe of fan looks very odd. Hunter could have just installed white hardware instead of black to avoid really nice fan looking like very odd. Specially when installed in family room like focal area, its very noticeable embarrassment and doesn't justify rest of the fan design, features, capacity and usefulness.

HUNTER DOESN'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS.

"I bought 3 Hunter fans from Costco, and even with Costco pricing I paid a lot of money. After the warranty expired I needed to have the remote receivers replaced (power surge from lightening strike blew electronics in all 3).
Guess what? Hunter no longer made the fans and had no spare parts, so I had to replace all 3 fans."

Very nice fan

Pros: assembled look, simple operation.
Cons: missing instructions., remote unit in fan is poorly designed.
"Assembly and installation was easy with the Instructions. My fan did not come with instructions and I went online to get them (a bit of a pain). The remote works well and is easy to understand. The remote unit inside the fan is poorly designed and just lays inside the assembly unsecured. The screw holes for the light cover do not align properly and it will be a challange to replace the bulbs.
It was simple to balance and is not loud or noisey.

Great Fan

Pros: appearance, function, quality
Cons: poor instructions, lamp shade thumb screws poorly designed
Model Number: Brushed Nickel Ergonomic
"Very quiet. Looks and works great. Good quality. Remote works well, no problems. Instructions are vague: screws represented by drawings rather than photos, no size or head type call out, no labels on screw packets. No problem for the mechanically inclined but makes it difficult for others."

Hunter Brushed Nickel Ergonomic

Pros: quite
Cons: assembly, hunter customer service
"I bought 6 of these fans to match an existing one in our new house. We have had Hunter fans before and have been impressed with the quality. This model is built well but is difficult to assemble. Nearly every piece of this fan is disassembled in the box to the extent even the rubber washers for the fan blades need to be assembled. Hunter does not offer the wall mounted remote for this model. Our existing fan’s remote receiver broke, because these receivers are unique to this model type the replacement part comes at a premium price only through Hunter directly .Hunter customer service has been difficult to deal with and at times has been unprofessional. Because of the unique parts and Hunters customer service I would not recommend this model or any of the hunter model type 3s"

the remote is not good

Cons: terrible remote controls fans in different rooms
Model Number: Hunter Fan 56" Brushed Nickel Ergonomic Ceiling Fan
"I was a little worried before I ordered the fans because the comments about remote. But I did order anyway. So, here is my experience: we had 2 fans installed by a contractor so I can't comment on the installation part. The fans do look great. The lighting seems to be sufficient to light up our bedrooms. It is not noisy but not very quiet either. The remote can turn on/off light/fan. BUT, here comes the but. The remote can turn on/off the light/fan for both fans in both bedrooms! I find that's terribly annoying and inconvenient. The remote HAS TO work better!!!"

Love this Fan!

Pros: quiet, remote included
Cons: complicated installation
Model Number: KNF01-01
"Excellent. The look is almost as good as the feel. I must say it did take a very long time to install and is NOT a fan you should install if you are a novice. Love the speeds, the remote (that is the only one I've ever seen with a button to change the fan direction) and love how quiet it runs. Great fan for a great price."

Best bang for your buck

Pros: high quality for the price, quiet operation at any speed
Model Number: 20171
"I purchased 3 of these fans for a little over half the price for what I paid for the same fan 1 year ago at a local home improvement store. I was worried that hunter had cheapened up the fan and it would be a piece of junk. But not so. This is still the high quality hunter fan that I purchased a year ago at half the cost. The fan is extreemly quiet. It comes with blade balance weight kit. which I have never used on any of my 4 fans. The remote control is small and is simpple to operate. I am very impressed with this fan and plan to purchase 6 more in the very near future."

Great fan,great price

Pros: price style ease of installation
Cons: installation booklet was missing 2 steps
Model Number: 20171
"Awesome fan for the price, the instruction booklet is missing some steps but it was easy to figure it out to get the fan together and working."

Neighbor's Home Alarm

Pros: relatively quiet
Cons: cheap looking, activated by neighbors garage door opener, time consuming to put together
Model Number: Hunter 20171
"Cons: This fan lets me know when the neighbors arrive home as I believe it's their remote that turns it on. Don't have a cell phone, wireless phone over 100 feet away. So come to the conclusion this rather tacky (cheap) looking is being operated by the next door neighbor.
Pros: relatively quiet & low profile
(Not as quiet or elegant as Minka Aire-but they do cost 2-3 times as much and don't have a neighbor alarm) PG&E made more money as it would be on when I was gone.
Got a Minka Aire Concept II and also the elegant Calais....quieter, lower profile but expensive."

Cool fan, wacky remote

Pros: cool looking
Cons: hunter customer service is useless
Model Number: Egonomic brushed nickel
"This fan is well constructed, good looking and very quiet. However, the remote picks up signals from other electronic devices from who knows where and turns the fan and/or the light on on its own, some times in the middle of the night. We removed the light bulbs to avoid that, but still have to get up to turn the fan off. When you install it, I highly recommend that you also hard wire the unit to a wall switch so you can turn off the power and avoid this."

remote IS dimmable!

Pros: lights are dimmeable
"I am super happy with this purchase. It puts out alot of light for a 12x12 room and even though previous reviews said that the lights arent dimmable, they are! It's easy-peasy, just hold down the button on the remote. Im going to be getting more of these for my other bedrooms. I had an electrician install the fan for me, which wasnt cheap, so I cant comment on the the difficulty of installation."

Poor Instructions

Pros: silent, contemporary look
Cons: poorly written instructions, light comes on when main switch is turned on
"The instructions were poorly written. Several of the screws could be made uniform size to avoid confusion. Light comes on whenever the main switch is turned on.
If disassembling the fan while standing on a step ladder were not a chore, I would return it.

Nary a Whisper Fan

Pros: very quiet
Cons: additional wiring for the remote
Model Number: Item# 580353
"Because this fan had a remote control, there was additional wiring to be done but even that was pretty simple. Instructions were very good. This is one of the quietest fans that I have ever installed and I have installed 15 or so ceiling fans. Even on high speed there is zero motor noise, only the blades make minimal noise cutting thru the air.
The light is very good also.
Installation was pretty simple. We are very happy with this fan and I may buy more of the same thing."
