Pros: amazing picture quality
Cons: sound & picture went out
"I purchased this product after considerable research and consulting with friends who own or familiar with Samsung products being this is my lst Samsung purchase. I love everything about this TV. Unfortunately, purchased it on 7/20/11 and the picture and sound went out less than 8 weeks after maybe 50 hours of use! I returned it to Costco and no problems asked they exchanged it for identical model. Hopefully, there isn't another issue! I also purchased the 55" Samsung approximately same time I purchased the 40"..so far so good! Also, purchased the Samsung sound bar for the 55" and wow what incredible sound now! Highly recommend the Samsung sound bar."

Great TV

"I purchased this 40" TV to sit on top of the dresser in the bedroom and it is ideal. I'm glad I listened to the reviewers who said not to order too small a TV for the bedroom. The picture quality is very good and the sound from the set is fine with no additional speakers. It was delivered quickly, was easy to assemble the TV to its little stand by myself, and is very stable on top of the dresser. Because I live in earthquake country, I will probably fasten it with an earthquake cord to the wall as are all my other TV's and tall bookcases, but that would not normally be required because it is very stable on its stand without it."

Great TV for the Price
Pros: cheap true 120hz tv, easy set up, beautiful when on or off
Cons: no vga or dvi inputs, only 2 hdmi, no headphone jack or digital output for speakers

"I was doing research for a 37-42" (Samsung or Sony) LED lit, 120hz television for under $700 and found this set at Costco.
I was extremely excited to see that it hit all the points I was looking for. It's extremely thin, sleek, and bright. The built in speakers sound great, but might not be loud enough for everyone.
This brings me to the reason I didn't give this television 5 out of 5 stars. There are no audio ports on this model (UN40D5005). It has two HDMI and one composite/component input. I had a speaker system with my old tv, but can't hook it up unless I use a bridge (Bluray player/PS3/something with audio output).
Overall a great purchase and I would highly recommend it. Just make sure you are fine with the inputs and lack of speaker hookups."

Excellent Picture Quality

"With so many good options for LED TV's today, I spent some time researching before finally deciding on this 40" Samsung. We had just upgraded our satellite dish to HD, so the time had come to pair it with a high quality LED TV.
We've had it for six weeks now and I couldn't be happier with this TV. The picture quality, color, and contrast are all excellent and combine for a beautiful picture and viewing experience. Of course the performance is best seen when watching HD or a Blu-Ray disc... and sports are just so cool to watch now.
No issues, not a single complaint... I highly recommend this TV. :-)"
