An exquisite, fine writing instrument!

"Great bargain for an exquisitve fountain pen. The only problem is that Costco doesn't do pen engraving so I'd would have to find somewhere to get that done."

Time Will Tell

Pros: truly writes among the best pens in the world
Cons: rich black lacquer mars easily inside pen case
Model Number: 1771535
"The Waterman Gunmetal Contemporary fountain pen purchased August, 2011, writes well on "all" manner of stationery, although, I would recommend staying away from glossy or waxy papers for the nib's sake. I've been told that this particular nib is problematic. We shall see. I do want to emphasize that Its 18kt nib, does have an extremely superior ink flow. Costco did provide not only a converter, but an 8 pack of beautiful Waterman Florida Blue ink cartridges. The pen comes with a manufacturer warranty of three years as opposed to the standard two.
The Contemporary has fluid lines, a perfect balance and a medium heft, so you could quite possibly write for extended periods. I maintained and utilized the pen for only one month. NOTE: While protecting the pen inside an Ashton leather pen holder--the rich black lacquer barrel disappointingly became marred (quite unusual).
Costco's cost is such, that I am thinking of purchasing another pen so that others can enjoy in the delight of the writing experience. (Hint: eMailers & texters). This pen slows down the handwriting just enough so that creative and coherent thoughts can flow and be expressed effortlessly. What a joy this fountain pen is!!"

a superb pen at an unbeatable price!

Pros: too many to list
Cons: none
Model Number: see above.
"Waterman's best pens are the equal of Mont Blancs -- and its Carene Contemporary is one of those pens. It writes effortlessly, making writing a real pleasure. These pens are rarely -- if ever -- discounted and never this much. If writing with a fine pen means anything to you, buy this pen. There are pens at twice this price (we won't mention any names) that aren't half this good."

Great gift!

"Such a great deal for this founatin pen. Came in a very nice box........the presentation made it look that much more expensive. I researched this pen on the internet and every where else it was much more expensive! Way to go Costco! One of the many reasons I always buy here!"
