Great Monitor
Pros: size, crystal clear screen, no problems

"I bought this monitor about a year ago. It has been great. It's a major upgrade from my old 17 inch screen. I've had no problems with it. Videos are crystal clear. The monitor doesn't seem to use a lot of power and it's easy to turn on and off to save power. This monitor also costs much more on other websites."

Dissapointed
Pros: picture looks good/price

"Unfortunately I got the monitor after 9 months of use gets the black screen of death. For unknown reasons the screen will go black and is unresponsive. My other monitor was 8 years old without issues. Dell uses cheap materials for their cpu’s and monitors and built outside the US. Dissapointing"

excellent monitor
"Great monitor. The text/picture is very clear and bright and refreshes very fast. Adjusting the angle of the monitor is easy. I did have to adjust the height by putting a few books under the stand. I have had it a week now and wish I would have bought it earlier."

Good value for money

"I'm immensely pleased with this, my first flat screen monitor. Colors look good; text is crisp and easy to read with no cumulative strain. I don't know how it would be for video editing or photographic work, but I usually put four or five hours per day behind it.
It doesn't have speakers ( a plus, anyone listening to music will have better ones) or cables; one has a choice of hdmi or vga.
It meets my limited needs : 5 stars."

Not very good at all

"I bought a Samsung S24B300EL 24" at Costco and found out it was 23.6, not a 24 so I also purchased this Dell. Since I had both to compare with the Samsung was far better. The colors were more vibrant and the text was clearer. The Dell was all washed out no matter what I tried. Also the case design was not the best as there is a silvery section at the bottom the is very reflective and there is a little light below the Dell name in front of the frame. Also could not find the controls very well as they do not light up."

Works very well
Pros: no money wasted on speakers
Cons: nothing reasonable.
"Bought an HDMI cable (not included), plugged it in and, voila, it works well. It needed no adjustment, no bad pixels....
Great for reading texts, which I was concerned about, this being my first flat panel. I've used it about 4-6 hrs. per day for almost 3 months and it just works....very well."

Actually received as a gift from my sister!
Pros: installation and operation
Cons: only comes with vga cable.
"Great gift!! Easy to hook up,works great.
I would have liked to have a printed full instruction manual as well as the disc the full manual comes on.The quick installation guide was fine for hooking up."

LOVE IT!!

"Ordered on a Sat. FedEx delivered it on Thur morning. I went from my 40" TV to a 20" Samsung (for about 2 weeks). I plan on buying a 2nd Dell soon, since i have a video card that accomidates 2. Super simple to set up. took longer to remove from the box. Driver install was fine. still want to tweak it a little. cant go wrong with this size/$. I havent played games on it yet. depending on the font size you end up with, you can have quite a few windows open"

Mediocre monitor at best...
"The colors do not stand out and the screen appears washed out even after calibration. Viewing angles on the side are poor so if you are off center the colors shift. No vesa mount so you can't attach to a wall and there is no height adjustment. Dell does make better monitors but you easily pay two to three times more for the better quality. I switched to a HP monitor and returned this one."

Major issues with this monitor
"The problem with the monitor is the power and cable connections. It randomly decides to switch from the HDMI (plugged into) to VGA (not plugged in). Then the power shuts off. The power touch button doesn't work at this point and I'm left to tilting the screen up and down to get it to turn back on. Then having to change back to the HDMI setting. This happens several times a day. Very annoying and so not worth it. Avoid this because of the touch button sensor."

"I use this monitor for work. Love having more viewing space as opposed to the previous 19". Had this monitor for about 3 weeks now; no problems. Great resolution. Only complaint is I need a riser so I can view it at shoulder height, but that's not a big deal."

Washed-out colors

"I bought this Dell monitor to replace my 4 year old LG monitor which went out on me. I use two monitors side by side so I had an LG and an HP.
Everything about this monitor is good except the color. The screen, as compared to the 4 year old HP monitor I still have, and the LG monitor I had, is washed out like a faded newspaper. The color brightness and richness does not compare to the HP or the LG. No adjustments would make it better.
I have a perfect comparison as my two monitors sit side by side and both run off the same high quality video card. I can move a photo so it is half on one monitor and half on the other. The half that is on the HP is bright and clear. The half that is on the Dell is dull, washed out, and slightly fuzzy.
This product came with only a VGA cable whereas my previous LG monitor, and my HP monitor also came with an HDMI cable and a DVI cable. With this product the HDMI abd DVI cables must be purchased seperately running the cost up significantly.
I have purchased another HP monitor and am sending this one back."

Awesome up to a point....
Pros: hdcp!! not all monitors are...!!
Cons: whimpy short vga cable included...
"The monitor installs very easy, but only comes with a VGA cable...which to me seems strange for a HDCP monitor. I was replacing an existing non-HDCP 24" monitor which had the cable I needed. (non HDCP means I could not go into 3D mode with my SLI video cards nor play a blue ray disk on my blue ray drive)...resolved. As a note color saturation seems less than my old monitor at higher saturation setting... So be sure to buy a HDMI or HD DVI cable..."
