Happy Knowing What to Expect
Pros: easy assembly - with only a philips screwdriver
"My goal was to use the den space as a study. I considered purchasing the full bookcase wall - but reconsidered when I physically blocked out the space those take up in the room. These shelves were the perfect compromise in setting the two tall units side-by-side (the smaller shelf I placed in my dining room and it makes a lovely server/sideboard table).
Before ordering I read the reviews and noted that the shelves were only about 10-inches in height. I was glad I knew to expect this. That height works for most of my books, but my sheet music would have to be laid on its side. One other note is that the shelves are open in the back - which also influences how I place items. The bookcases are beautiful as furniture and still functional - the exact balance I was looking for."

Not really a bookcase
"This product comes with 3 bookcases, two tall ones and one short one. Thus, it is a good deal overall.
Pro: the wood seems to be good quality, and it is relatively easy to assemble. Very solid design. Overall they look nice for decoratively purpose.
Con: they are not very useful as a bookcase. The shelve height is small such that any tall hard cover books do not fit well. The tallest book that I can fit was the Harry Potter book, which is approx. 10inch. It fits barely. The tall bookcase has 5 shelves, but less than 5 feet tall. I wish the manufacturer can consider making taller bookcase so that it functions as a bookcase.
Bottom line: if you are looking for a decorative bookcase, it is a good choice. If you are looking for an actual bookcase you can put books on, it is not very practical."
