Very small plant
Pros: it's alive and it's a bonsai!
Cons: tiny plant
"I realize bonsai are supposed to be small, but this guy's canopy was only 4" across. There were a few broken leaves along with one broken off branch, but overall it's a cute little plant. I would not recommend it, however, considering the other bonsai that are offered. I received one of the outdoor juniper and it's a much nicer, fuller plant. I very much appreciate my daughter sending me this gift, though! It was quite thoughtful of her."

Disappointed
"I purchased the Gensing Money Ficus Bonsai Tree as a Get Well gift for a friend in California. It arrived frozen (???). A replacement had to be requested. How embarassing!"

Our guests loved them!
Cons: the packing popcorn makes a mess.
"We purchased a variety of Bonsais from costco for the centerpieces at our wedding reception. They were so elegant and the guests loved them. We had even ordered extras sio we could take one home, but they all vanished! The packing was great, they arrived in a timely fashion, the planters were lovely."

"Super fast shipment. The packaging is excellent. I think they gave me at least $20 worth of foam peanuts. Nice tree with green leaves and all branches attached. In fact, I might need to trim it some, as it looks a little busy. Better to have too many branches than too few."

Not happy when received
"Not happy when I received bonsai tree. The leaves where Brown, not green. I follow the procedure and still look dead. I will not recommend the plant. Planning to return this weekend."

Very Sad
"I have ordered a total of 5 of these various Bonsai's from Costco. This particular plant was in very bad shape. The leaves were brown and all fell off except for two. Hhhhmm not good!
I had bought the ponytail a few years earlier. So I have a total of 7 of these plants.
In addition, I was very disappointed with the ponytail palm I received this time. Looked sick and was not a nice green, the leaves were brittle surrounded by brown. Had to give it a hair cut like you would not believe.
I think this it is hit or miss. Some are beautiful, huge and healthy. Others are not so great.
Keep in mind there in no moss either!"

Best value! Beautiful bonsai!
Pros: wonderful gift beautiful tree, very full
Cons: styrofoam peanuts packaging
"I ordered two trees, one came with broken branches and the other while packaged in the same box was delivered at noon in 10 degree weather. I didn't come home for 7 hours and it froze. I returned the broke branch one and the company replaced the other. I love my new tree. Be aware that you will have many styrofoam peanuts though, but it is worth it!"

Broken Stems
"I actually purchased 2 bonsai trees as part of my wife's Christmas present - 1) Gensing Money Tree and 2) Podocarpus. The Gensing Money Tree had a couple of broken stems when I opened the package that both trees were delivered in. The Podocarpus was beautiful and didn't require any touch up before presenting to the wife on Christmas.
I had to put my Bonsai trimming skills to work before re-wrapping the Gensing Money Tree. The tree would have looked a lot fuller if the stems did not break off when they were delivered. Since new stems and branches will eventually grow I was happy with both trees I purchased.
My wife loved her new trees and the message I wrote to her on Christmas morning."
